    I'm left handed and you directions and perspective really helped my learn this stitch. I like that you drew lines beforehand as it is a great technique for. a beginner. I have A to Z Embroidery and your visuals and descriptions are so much better. I looked at a video for lefties and I couldn't follow as she wasn't starting on a straight line sample. Kudos to you!

      In later videos I try and do left handed too, but I've been told if you hold a mirror up that will work!

    I’m left handed and could not figure out on my own how to complete this stitch. As another left handed poster commented, the lines were very helpful. I was able to complete my project with your tutorial. 👏👏Thank you!

    AWESOME!!! The closed feather stitch looks like the open chain stitch It's quite confusing ;) Thanks for sharing ;D

    • @SarahHomfrayEmbroidery
      @SarahHomfrayEmbroidery  3 года назад

      All stitches are a variation on each other. The feather stitch tends to go from left to right where the open chains are in a straight line

    The closed feather stitch worked horizontally would be a truss as is commonly used in bridges and buildings.

    Dear Sarah, I wonder if you'd ever consider making just one single video on some stitches using the sewing method without a hoop? I know it's a sin to ask but I'm pretty sure lots of simple folks like me would appreciate it :) Love your videos & thx a lot :)

    • @SarahHomfrayEmbroidery
      @SarahHomfrayEmbroidery  3 года назад

      I will look into it! It is hard to film when you hold something in your hand as it wobbles all over the place and goes out of shot/focus easily but I'll have a look and see if this would be possible. The only difference really when you work something in your hand is that you can do one movement of the needle instead of two (an up and a down) so if you were doing feather stitch you would come out of the fabric to start your stitch then do the next two movements in one, so back down and back out again inside the loop.

      @@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery Thank you very much. Perhaps one day you'll feel like giving it a try :) A little sampler with 10-15 stitches would be perfect.
