The tone of the movie should be something in between campy and classic superman returns tone and the sincere and serious man of steel. I also hope the score is epic. John murphy has done the sunshine theme so I have hope in him
Sorta like Prince of Bel Air, in which it does have comedic moments and times for the cast to have a laugh, but there's also rooms for heavy stuff in the show.
At first I wasn't excited about the movie. Now, after seeing the bts photos and knowing the Gunn is a Superman The Movie fan, I can say that I am looking forward to this movie and some great cape flapping scenes. 💪🏻
Not gonna lie it's gonna be hard to top Tyler Hoechlin's Superman for me. He's the Superman the films desperately need. But I have faith in James Gunn. He makes really good superhero movies. I heard he's taking inspiration from the DCAU and that has me excited. The DCAU/Timmverse/Diniverse is the peak of comic book adaptations and I'm glad the movies are finally taking inspiration from it.
#JamesGunn is really about to bring our childhood to life. If you’re a real DC fan, you should want every single project to be a success. Meaning even if you do not know a certain character, you should be watching that show or going out to see that movie. I’m making this statement with quality in mind, world-building, character development and great stories. That is what #DCfans deserve with this universe finally being connected and coming to life.
@@Knight93King this is my thought. People who love the character should want to see the character. I don’t understand why they hate this so much based on other versions. It’s OK for different versions of a character to exist.
I think Superman Returns' biggest mistake was simply coming out smack dab in the middle of Smallvile. You already had a pretty much perfectly cast Clark Kent/Lois Lane out there that perople were heavily invested in, I simply don't think there's any way the Superman Returns we actually got would have ever been as good as Smallville. Ideally, they should have waited a couple extra years, then followed it up with a movie starring Tom Welling as Superman. Now THAT, I think, would have gotten asses in seats!
I was not excited for this movie until they started filming it down the street from where I work, and a friend of mine told me he was going to be an extra in it.
For the record I enjoyed Superman Returns and I was not a big fan of the Henry Cavill Superman. Secondly check out Lois and Clark from the 90s. Yes, it was a TV show and not a big budget movie but it has one of the best lines I've ever heard about Superman. Lois is ticked off at CK and Sman and CK tells her, "Superman is what I can do; Clark is who I am." Good stuff.
Personally, I don't know how to feel about the movie. I've been watching Superman and Lois for the first time, and I feel a little spoiled by the perfection of this Superman show. Kinda makes me wonder if James and do him justice lol. What I am excited about, is getting the classic superhero feel back in movies! Just... bring me that Christopher Reeves and Tyler Holchen feel!
As long as we have faith in James Gunn, he will give us what we hardcore DC fans deserve in style. And I hope to join forces with Mr Gunn as a DC actor and animator.
Hope the superman's flying motion in this movie will be like Superman returns with cgi like man of steel because I hate how flying is done in modern movies like Superman was just darting from here without any grace and just looked like a blur with combination of shaky cinematography doesn't suits superman and in Superman returns his flying was fast but also has that grace similar Christopher Reeve's superman movies and cinematography was also beautiful that matches Superman's tone
I sure hope this movie Rocks …! I’m rooting for it - i grew up with Christopher Reeves - and I like Cavill - I’d love to see a full fledged kick A$$ movie I can cheer for !
WE ALL ARE HOPING.... FINGER CROSS🤞... QUESTION.. CAN JAMES GUNN DO IT!.. .. I MEAN I DID ENJOY James GUNN.. Guardian of the galaxy 3. That was good.. But Superman is a different ballgame... The story plot, n everything goes along with it.. Oh!.. I forgot, the background music.., the fight, the suit. .. My gut feeling is... Something spectacular is going to happen.... Finger cross
Let s hope it soars because nobody caring for this movie will definitely sink WB. Right now the casting choices and the suits are terrible indicators but maybe that can be fixed in post production. Beyond that I have zero expectations.
I personally think this will be my favorite Super-man movie. The suit already looks like it's the best we're gonna get, and is my favorite right off the bat. I can't wait! Up up and away!!
I would love it if it took inspiration from the Superman red and blue comic. Also, I would like to hear the Starman song from David Bowie while Clark is doing good deeds
I feel like I have no real feelings on the new Superman movie. I'm hoping when the trailer come out that will change. I love Gunn's GOTG movies but I didn't like TSS or Peacemaker. I know people didn't like the tone of Man of Steel but I really liked it and knew it was just the beginning of the arc. As far as the Synderverse, I don't think anything will happen with that until the release of Gunn's Superman movie. I feel after it could be sold to have more income come in.
@@davidchittick6783that’s more like James Gunn twist of his version of Superman. James Gunn Clark Kent has curly hair and his Superman has straight hair.

It could be the "Superfantastic July" event i gess. As a fan of both DC and Marvel alike I am extremely interested in that July.
James Gunn is a huge fan of the 70s Reeve/Donner movie, and I see a lot of that in his Superman movie. He knows that the majority of the theater auduences want to see that bright suit, smiling just stepped out of a comic book Superman again, and thats what he's giving us. And I cant wait.🎬

I am through the roof with hope and positivity about this movie. And yes, the thought about David Corenswet being the "Iron-Man" of this DCU is absolutely an amazing thought. He can lead the rest of the other characters in different DCU films, into a great team (Justice League), just like how RDJ (Tony Stark) did with the MCU and The Avengers. And with the ongoing trend with the Snyderverse fans begging for it to be continued onto Netflix, I am not so on board with that. Because I dont want fans getting caught up between both sides and they dont want to watch or support anything James Gunn releases. That will cause major fan hateful backlash and uproars, which are very unwanted. Its better to move on from the Snyderverse, in my opinion. So we can have a clean step into something fresh. But with this movie, I do agree that it will soar to be one of the most faithful adaptations to Superman from the comics, just like Christopher Reeve. Gunn understands the Superman character, he reads his comics, and he knows how to adapt a hopeful character correctly into film.
@@leehumphreys6615 awesome! I absolutely love the enthusiasm. And I agree with you. I think it’s gonna be great. Who knows if we actually see anymore Snyder verse but there’s nothing wrong with looking ahead. I can’t wait for this to come out.
Me personally, im intrigued with the upcoming superman movie. I lowkey hope there'll be a popcorn bucket for the movie, similar to deadpool and wolverine. But im also hoping for lois lane to have purple eyes or maybe lavender or violet, i have no idea which one. The reason is because its likely a constantly forgotten detail that lois has violet eyes and rachel Brosnahan is rather beautiful and i wanna see a lois in live action with comic accurate eyes.
@@giyuutomioka6974 I feel like they’ll really miss out if they don’t have some kind of a popcorn merchandise bucket. That would be fun. I still have mine from man of steel.
Story won't work if the characters are not put into challenges....where they need to face delama and indecisiveness like in the world where if u are a human or alien(like bat or sup), challenges will appear. You can't simply put the story like the bad guy appears and good saves the day which is not always works .....this is no longers adam Smith's or reevs time where fictional charas were kind of escapism, may be like the mcu fans may be satisfied.Otherwise superman will like earlier go to the "boring character" tag which was saved by zac
I don't hold out much hope for DCU continuity, especially in the feature-film space. DC's new owners kicked off the reversal of what many had called the Netflix model. Long-tail is dead, and the strict continuity juice isn't worth the squeeze. DC's corporate overlords want traditional product that's traditionally profitable. This is James Gunn's mission. And that's... okay. James Gunn is a skilled storyteller. He knows every project must pay its own bills and find its own audience. We'll get a good Superman flick out of this new guy, and another in three years if the finances hold up, but that's probably it except for a cheap cameo or two. Gunn has other interests, and the owners have other IP to reheat.
@AtonicBuffalo, the DCU starting with so many spinoff series that don't feature ever hitters and tieing animations and games is a mistake it's the same Marvel made with phase 4 . The difference is that Marvel already had a foundation of 10+ years, while this new DCU started with a rocky start due to the reputation of DC films with added TV shows that might grip the general audiences. Even if superman is successful it does not mean that the Dcu will be successful as a cinematic franchise when no other studio has ever created a consistent cinematic universe like Marvel Phases 1-3 combine with the presence of superhero fatigue i dont see this universe lasting,
@@Superfitcosplay OTOH if they’re not trying to build one huge continuity they can let talented people make Superman movies without the timing and story limitations of making it fit with Everything. Less for nervous suits to feel they have to control. :) More non-origin stories and maybe one day more non-Luthor antagonists :)
The only Batman to share his full origin story was Christan Bale, and it was done brilliantly. It took him at least an hour to become Batman. Outside of the death of his parents being in a flashback, he went through all of his training before becoming The Dark Knight. No other Batman actor has done that. Superman's origin story has been told too much. I know how it starts. It doesn't need to be shown a dozen times.
And that was Nolan that directed that. Snyder and Nolan worked together in the DCEU....James Gunn is not a real Superman fan. He lies...if he was a Superman fan then he would have came up with better costumes instead of ordering them off Temu.

For all those that say Snyder's films flopped I suggest you go research how much his movies made for WB. Snyder easily made over a $3 billion dollars from his super hero films alone. Man Of Steel alone made over $800 million...let's also talk about the collectibles...the collectibles for the DCEU characters sell out faster than any other collectibles.
It's not that Snyder's films didn't make money. They clearly did. It's that the shared universe and characters he set up fizzled out. The studio f'ed everything up after Zack left JL. And then Josstice League was overall pretty bad. It tainted the franchise going forward. It's too bad. WW84, Shazam1&2, and Aquaman1&2 movies could have been better too. It's not Zacks fault that the universe failed. But he does seem get all the blame because it's called the "Snyderverse."
@@LSD-420 let’s call it for what it is. I think it was less Zack and more of the studio and how they treated the projects. There was a lot of interference. I think that messed with a lot of things.

the suit is great, especially when its in good lighting, the lines arent too noticeable in good lighting, that reveal image didnt have good lighting and it made the suit look bad.
Agreed! Gunn gets Superman, Donner got Superman- Singer and Snyder got parts, but chose to place focus and emphasis on stuff no one really wanted to see in a Superman film.
While Gunn's resume is long on the wacky and short on Sober Drama, he knows how to make characters and stories compelling. He knows pathos. And he knows he wasn't hired for a quirky/edgy take on the most conservative and broadly appealing product in the portfolio. He wants to make everyone love Superman again.
I hate when people say Snyder didn't understand the character. He totally did. Man of Steel nailed it! He just delved into the side of the character that people don't normally see. "fans" that say this crap are fans of Reeve and only want his version. Oh look, Superman saved a cat in a tree. Thats such a great hero! He murdered Zod, but he smiled while doing it... that's such a great guy! vs Oh, he saved the entire planet from invading aliens that were determined to kill every single human on the planet. OH man.. what a bad Superman. lol I've been reading the comics for nearly 40 years and feel MoS is the best movie we've had. I think Dean Cain's Superman is the best TV version. For this movie though, I'm not excited at all. The All Star Superman influence worries me because I think that is the most over rated Superman story. Obviously I'm in the minority. I'll never accuse them of not being comic accurate or anything like that, but I'm just not the target audience I guess. The suit, I've said it before, but there is nothing I like about it at all. The actor.. nothing bad to say about him at all. I'm sure he'll do fine. I have never heard of him before he was cast as Superman and if they are going to reboot (I wish they didn't) then he is a fine choice. My excitement for this movie is at zero. Which is great because a trailer can only make it go up! I'm hoping it will be good.
Snyder robbed us from great things that could come from DC films.. all he needed to do was to make MOS hit 800mil n BVS hits 1billion as studio n shareholders/investors expected em to do... Heck Zack even failed in establishing THE Clark character n how he blends among the people he worked with.MOS n BVS unconvincingly brought that to life while donner n reeve were successful in just the 1st movie. I kind of agree. Like I mention this because that’s what people perceive. But I never saw anything too bad with what we saw. Obviously I love man of steel. I think all star Superman is a good story. I really dont have any faith in this for a few reasons. 1. It's been described heavily as being "funny." That's all Gunn knows how to do. He can only make unapologetic comedies. I feel like Superman can be a hopeful, empowering film without being "hilarious." I feel like Reeve's movies, Superman Returns, Man of Steel, and ZSJL all had very empowering, hopeful Supermen, but they didn't have to be funny. I feel like Gunn's movies often become self-parody, which I don't want for Superman. 2. This movie appears to be bloated with unnecessary characters that aren't important to a Superman movie. Gunn talked about not wanting to use "cameo p*rn," but I think he exclusively meant nostalgia cameos. This movie has way too many characters that shouldn't be important to a story that is supposed to be exclusively about Superman. The movie is going to have Superman and his immediate supporting cast, The Terrifics, which includes Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, as well as including members of the Creature Commandos, members of the Authority, and he's also hinted at Supergirl making a brief appearance. It might not be "cameo p*rn," but it is "set-up p*rn" considering all of these characters aside from the Terrifics are confirmed to get their own movies or shows. This makes the movie lose a lot of its value to me if it's more focused on setting up other characters than telling a story about Superman himself. Hell, the DCEU was originally planned to only be about 10 or less movies, and people cried about BvS having Wonder Woman. People still don't understand that the DCEU wasn't supposed to overstay its welcome like the MCU. 3. Superman isn't a giant brand like it used to be. Especially after they canned Cavill twice. Superman Returns and Man of Steel would've made around 1 billion dollars accounting for inflation, and BvS would've made more than that, and I just don't think Gunn can make it gross more than $500 million. Especially when you compare The Batman's gross, which was around $775 million. Batman is currently a much bigger character, and if Batman can't break $800 million, there's no way Superman will get anywhere near that. 4. With how much back and forth WB has put the fans through in the last 5 years, I really don't think a lot of fans are willing to invest their time and money into a new cinematic universe after the old one was unceremoniously killed without a proper finale. After Hamada kicked Cavill and Affleck, they were finally back in ZSJL, and Affleck was confirmed for The Flash. Then Dwayne Johnson comes full circle and helps bring Cavill back, only for him to be chopped less than a month later. I feel like this upcoming movie is the build-up of years worth of studio disrespect to the fans. WB deserves the spot it's in. 5. Similarly, feel like fans of the DCEU or Snyderverse are just burned out after all of the back and forth by the studio, editing scenes out of movies, etc. Most still want a conclusion to those movies, and I'm the same way. I feel like if they gave fans what they wanted in the first place, people would've been more receptive to what's coming up next. 6. This one's pretty simple but the costumes don't look good at all in my opinion, aside from Mister Terrific. When Superman barely bends forward, his midsection looks like a deflated basketball. All of the costumes look lifeless, uninspired, and generic. With the DCEU costumes, they looked very comic booky, but they all had a very similar aesthetic between movies and regimes. Superman's suit looked similar to that of Batman, and Batman's was similar to Shazam's, and his was similar to Doctor Fate's and Aquaman's. These new suits just look like reskinned Guardians of the Galaxy suits. The whole thing just looks like it has zero effort put into it, unfortunately. I wish I had hope in what's coming, but there's just too many giant reasons why I and many others couldn't care less about it.

What I'm most worried about is Gunn's choice of projects beyond the Superman movie. Such a bizarre random array of shows and movies, when obvious heavy hitters like Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow etc are nowhere to be found. Instead, we get.... Waller, The Authority and a Deadman animated series? And Supergirl gets her own movie as early as the second year of the DCU?? Like... what is going on?

@@AtomicBuffalo yes look that’s fair. I think unfortunately corporate idealism gets in the way of filmmaking much too often
Even if superman is successful it does not mean that the Dcu will be successful as a cinematic franchise when no other studio has ever created a consistent cinematic universe like Marvel Phases 1-3 combine with the presence of superhero fatigue i dont see this universe lasting,
@@harryrao4296 I don't think DC's new owners care about continuity except in the old-fashioned sense of sequels and spinoffs for winners.

@@comixof2morrow yes I’ve never understood why people say that either. They definitely were financially at success.
It's not that Snyder's films didn't make money. They clearly did. It's that the shared universe and characters he set up fizzled out. The studio f'ed everything up after Zack left JL. And then Josstice League was overall pretty bad. It tainted the franchise going forward. It's too bad.

_Anything less than that is an insult, and I refuse to see Superman in any other light. _*_Man of Steel_*_ was not just brilliant; it was a revelation-a cinematic tour de force that left no room for the childish, bubblegum tones that Gunn so shamelessly peddles._
_You say a lot of people were not happy that’s total BS, because in New York City two major movie theaters sold out for three weeks before me and my girlfriend could see the movie and at both theaters eyewitness lines wrapping around the building with police officers all over the place, including escorting people out of the theaters so they wouldn’t stay to watch it twice;_

@@death2able , Snyder's movies didn't flop...you might better go check the facts and numbers before commenting. Snyder made WB over $3 billion dollars just in superhero films.

@@genericyoutubechannel3790 you do make some good points. I haven’t seen who has described it assembly funny. So I’m not sure where that’s coming from but there are a lot of things to worry about yes. But there’s also a lot of things that we can help for. We won’t know what it is until we get it.but I think people are so focused on hating the movie based on what James has done in the past or based on different versions of the character rather than focusing them with this one could be
What I'm most worried about is Gunn's choice of projects beyond the Superman movie. But hey, if the DCU ends up sucking hard, at least we'll probably end up with one of the best adaptations of Superman to be put on screen.
@@DarkDekicDuka I don’t mind supergirl getting a movie. But it does seem like a rather random grouping of other things

But fans wants the superman movie where there has a lots of martial arts fighting scenes actions
Yes hopefully superman was doing a lots and lots of martial arts fighting scenes
And hopefully theres many many many cameos also
And with a powerful villains that superman was having a hard time defeating those villains
And has also a lots of comedy scenes same as the superman 1978 film where there has a lots of comedy scenes

Look at synder justice league theres too much talking boring scenes
And few cameos and few action martial arts
And no comedy scenes its boring
And the villain is weak the justice league was not having a hard time defeating their only 1 villain so then it is so boring movie
And theres no green lantern supergirl and green arrow

Why snyder never use it just add the lots and lots action fighting scenes where at the start the justice league was one by one defeated by darkseid which no scenes on cartoond about the fights just instantly we saw the justice league are all collapsed

Not excited about this movie at all, it's too lightweight and comedic looking. It looks like they're going in some humorous direction. I like HARDCORE SERIOUS comic book movies and this doesn't look like that.
To be fair we haven’t seen enough footage to know that
@@SuperfitcosplayIt just looks that way to me, and if it is, I'm totally not interested.
If James Gunn was actually a true Superman fan then he would have made sure Superman had the best Suit possible. Instead, we got a Temu quality suit and he's stealing story ideas from the previous regime....
Lol the suit looks amazing. And he hasn't stolen a thing from anyone. We know for a fact how much s Superman fan Gunn is. And we can see it's paying off big time.
@@comixof2morrow look, I don’t disagree, but I have a feeling that whatever we see on screen, is going to make sense. But what ideas is he stealing? That’s the thing… So many comic book fans want these stories to be based off of certain comic books but then when they are, they accuse people of stealing ideas. So what ideas are we talking about?
Suit looks good
The suit doesn't look good...not at all. It's the worst Suit ever in Superman history...You are entitled to your own opinions but the majority of people who are Superman fans disagree with you guys. The suit is absolutely horrible and James Gunn could have done better had he put real effort in it. The suits themselves show just how little effort he is putting in to the project
@@Superfitcosplay , As far as the ideas he is stealing, most of what he's doing has been done already. The people that were upset with what Snyder was doing is ok with what Gunn is doing.. it's hypocritical and ridiculous.
