In my opinion, I think DC has the brighter future. James Gunn said that story telling is what's most important in his DC slate video, and he proved that good storytelling was a thing with superhero movies in Guardians 1-3 and peacemaker/suicide squad. Not to mention that he's going to bring characters no one's heard or really cared about like Booster gold and the authority. Expanding to other series that could blow our minds like Lanterns and Paradise Lost. A FREAKING SWAMP THING MOVIE!? I have full faith he will do the best
I agree 100%. He hasn’t let us down yet with any of his projects. And a swamp thing movie could be one of the most unique comic book movies to date depending on how they tackle it!

DC hasn’t had a hit in years. Hard to say they have any future. People trash marvel post end game but they had 4 movies (spiderman 3, thor 4, Dr Strange 2, BP 2) that made good money.
I still think Marvel may be on top for the next couple of years, at least in terms of fanfare due to their already established audience and having projects like F4, Spiderman 4, and Avengers.
However after that if DC consistently puts out quality content it's anyone's game.
Yeah even if a lot of people have lost interest in the MCU, the fanbase is massive and they are still going to put up big numbers. Hopefully both DC and Marvel put out bangers for years to come
It's hard to say this without them first proving they can actually do it, but DC sure seems to be in a prime position to take charge. If CC and Superman end up being great I imagine it will ignite the fanbase with freshly formed optimism. That's what we need right now. Everything and everyone is so negative, we need that spark to get behind.

From everything I've seen I'd say DC definitely has a brighter future than marvel especially with James Gunn in control having a strong love for the character's who's also a big comic book nerd which makes it even better knowing he follows the source material while focusing a lot on storytelling

Post end game, marvel had 4 movies that made significant money. DC hasn’t had a hit in years. Even Gunn’s Suicide Squad lost money. Before you talk about Gunn’s 10 year plan and it’s “future” they need to have a movie that hits.
I think people need to realize that the DCEU's failure wasn't DC's fault it was the people in charge. I like Snyder but his vision didn't fit a cinematic universe. And let's be honest Warner Brothers kept interfering so a good DC Cinematic Universe was impossible. But now that DC has its own studio and a plan they actually have a chance. I want DC to thrive they are legendary without them there is no superhero genre. Marvel had their time in the spotlight it's DC's turn now. Hopefully the DCU is good I'm hoping they take inspiration from the DCAU. That universe is the blueprint for a perfect DC Cinematic Universe.
I’m shocked no one has brought up the DCAU. That is not talked about enough. How Constantine plays a massive role and characters like him. It’s the perfect way to interject the magic and horror side of things in a story that feels organic
@@gavinchavez91 I don't think Costantine was in the DCAU unless we're talking about the DCAMU. The DCAU consists of the shows by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. The DCAMU is the one that took inspiration from the New 52.

As a lifelong DC Fan, I want to say DC, but they’ve let me down so much. I’ve been watching DC since I was in diapers around like two or three so it’s hard to be at the point where I’m ready to leave them behind and forget about them
Putting my bias aside, I still think Marvel has the edge. James Gunn has a LOT of pressure on him and he has to hit it out of the gate with "Superman" or it could be considered another DC setback

Marvel will be on top this decade because of his secret wars and the next decade we’ll have to see
DC needs to bring in the most talented directors and writers possible. And particularly, ones who are focused on bringing the source material to life.

I’m a DC fan and let’s be honest Marvel is responsible for bringing people back to cinemas big time I have nothing but respect for them, unlike WB it’s really sad they tried to rush things and sorry for my language basically F^cked Up “DC comics” literally my childhood hero’s it’s truly sad but hopefully James Gunn restorers the brand. This new Superman movie has got to be his best work yet. It has to be so good and generate so much buzz to get people talking about DC again. About marvel this year feige iger and the crew are making a huge damage control (joke intended) after the damage the pandemic and bob chapek did, along jonnathan majors controversy, the lack of control of quality, working on a lot of projects at the same time, bringing bad directorz and writers, studio meddling (mostly from bob chapek) and the strike really caused marvel to hit low. I hope feige and his team fix the issues and gives an over the top phase 6 to finally start the mutant saga

In my opinion Marvel tells a story With its characters Not its actions in marvel knows that if they put out a crappy movie people will still watch it unlike dc where they are fumbled the bag so many times that they know that if they screw up again it may be the end. DC has always been able to put out great stuff under the right conditions. With Gunn in charge, I'm thinking those right conditions are there. He's a great storyteller.
The only thing DC was able to do was make Batman movies, and the last one of those wasn't very good IMHO. I thought it was terrible compared to the previous 3.
@@BladeStar-uq6xe oof, that's def not a popular opinion. I personally think it's the best Batman movie we've ever gotten except for TDK. DC has made more than Batman movies. They have good Superman movies, a great WW movie. TSS was great and the Peacemaker show that followed was even better. Joker was phenomenal. And we can't forget about shows like Smallville and Flash and even Arrow. I think DC has proven more than capable under the right leadership.

I say Marvel because they TV shows and movies connect together. And simple and easy to understand. DC JL they made like 3 movies. And a lot of TV shows like Superman and Louis got me confused. I just superboy from young JL not the other boy.

Haven’t watched the entire video yet but I’d say dc will take the cake. Warner bros is allowing for r ratings. Which means there can be a balance of very mature storytelling (if done right) and family friendly while all keeping the cast the same.
Marvel will always stay in my heart, but they should’ve taken a break after endgame and probably should’ve waited until after covid to revitalize and change and make plans. They put out way to much and hurt their brand by a majority that now even 30 something movies in they are probably on the same ground dc is at.
I think just the R ratings alone are a nice change. It doesn’t take much to be different or try new things and that’s what both sides need to do to succeed to reach everyone like you said. I think both have a good chance to recover
