When I first saw the trailer and poster teaser, I instantly had thoughts of the 1978 Superman movie😊

As others have pointed out, the wide-angle lens distorts Corenswet's proportions. I'll add that the fixed distance of the subject in relation to the camera is also giving an unnatural viewing experience. If the camera (or subject) was moving forward and back, it would look better. Another thing...why is the snow kicking up in Superman's face? Unless he's flying through a blizzard or chasing something that's already kicking up the snow, that wouldn't happen. I realize this is only a 3 second shot and not indicative of the whole movie, but it doesn't instill confidence in Gunn if he thinks this looked good enough to sell us on.

You can see the muscle suit underneath around the collar, so they didn't trim the muscle suit to match the neckline. There's a hole in the seam near the crotch where it looks like stitching came apart, and the boots are not even close to looking right. Boots should be separate not attached to the suit. Also the molded abs on the muscle suit do not look right, they push through the fabric too much and it looks fake. You pay all that money and they don't even have the velcro attached for the cape. People just don't do good work anymore and pay attention to detail.

I feel for everything that I seem to like about this upcoming DC Gunnverse, I get two things I don't like. I fear I'm going to be whiplashed by the time we get to the movie.

It looks like they screwed off his head, and they put someone else's head. It happened when his body flipped around. It was so noticeable

The only CGI in the flying shot was the cape. The BG was filmed on location and David was filmed greenscreen.

Both scenes you described use a wide angle lens pretty close to the subject. I don’t think that type of lens suits those shots at all, and the audience is beginning to see why.

i think i figured out what they did and i really hope i am wrong , the flying shot looks as though they took David's head and face , put it on a CGI body, that's what looks off, look at it and tell me if you think that is what they did, the head looks off compared to the CGI body, looks like something we would do on you tube , not good for a 500 million dollar movie. Trust me i want this movie to be great , i am a huge Superman fan i was three and still remember sitting in a theatre watching 1978 Superman.

If there is controversy about this scene.. Then this is sure that they have done a big mistake but some Gunn nerds want to cover it up😂

Very off. Like the suit and like having all those characters. Feels very GOTG . Sad because David had so much potential and Gunn doesn't know how to showcase Superman.

The cinematographer of this film is an absolute disaster and the movie will likely flop due to poor technique, unfortunately. This whole movie screams amateur.

I am a professional cinematographer, and the Superman flying shots look absolutely terrible, unprofessional, goofy, and unflattering. You don't use a wide angle lens with such a drastic concave on it - it distorts the facial features - and with a character like superman, you don't want to do that because it destroys the illusion of the man of steel, who should embody almost a greek god like stature. Its a terrible decision, and this movie will suffer greatly from these amature mistakes!

About content people are expecting, action figures seems like a hot topic with the company with the license for mass production for DC getting a lot of love and hate from consumers, and what it seems to me, is that this number of consumers are growing, so although I don't recommend hoarding on pieces of plastic that will consume space and money, talking about that will definitely bring some attention. Edit: About the weirdness of the image, we live in a world where a 6'3" guy with a head full of hair and blue eyes is judged harshly because of his looks.

The issue isn't the face. The issue is the beer belly and stumpy arms

That last shot of the tv spot his face definitely looks off. Not hating on it or making a big deal but a lot of people are noticing it. Hopefully they can fix it or make it not as noticeable but I doubt it especially if it’s the camera lens. I also agree with you about him punching out of the glass box. Even when I watched the trailer I was like something looks off, it didn’t really look like David. I seen somewhere a high quality still frame of that shot and it still didn’t look like David. I don’t know if it’s because of the hair or what lol.

Sorry, I hate the trailer for the most part. I'm happy to see Superman save people, which is what he should be doing. But I don't want a broken, bloody Superman. The costume looks horrible. As for this teaser... seriously? My gosh. I'm in shock. Superman is my favorite. I am very worried about this film. Superman's eyes don't move around like this. It must be fixed.

I think it looks alright. I mean, flying in high speed can have such effect on face. And on a side note, love the fact that the hair is moving in flight

Its very subjective for sure. I personally like the use of the wide angle lens but it seems a lot of people don't, which is okay.

Its a wide angle lens on a close up of rhe face with the camera attached to the non moving unemotional face with the background moving which makes the foreground and background look disjointed .....some poeple in particular angles like myself there eyes can look different one eye more open or on a angle it just adds a different perspective. I think colour grading may be over exposed needs more saturation and maybe more emotion from his mouth love the channel
