- In this Mia Winters Explained Video, we cover her origins, her role in both resident evil 7 and resident evil 8, what things she's done to cause the many catastrophic events in Ethan Winter's life. We also discuss all of her secrets and her role with the Mysterious organization called the connection.
We also discuss how she was connected to Eveline, the bio weapon the organization the connections created and how Mother Miranda was heavily involved with this project. We also discuss the future of resident evil and how Mia's daughter rose winters would have been affected by the mold strain that we saw in re7 and re village.

Mia probably love Ethan even in different form.. After all even turn into mold, ethan stills man who love family, Mia reason to believe in Ethan mold not getting violent is based.

I think disappearing for 3 years after working on delivery of a bio weapon is slightly suspicious.
"I was caught...and used in experiments..." we REALLY need a DLC or something explaining what the hell happened to Mia. Being "caught" means she was potentially doing something she should have been doing, maybe some The Connections work? Caught and kidnapped is two different things. The two knew each other, I wonder what Mia wanted to discuss or perhaps even FIND. *Oh shit, maybe Mia was trying to find something in Miranda's lab to cure Ethan of being FULLY molded.* That's what i'm going with until the truth is revealed.
And what kind of experiments was Miranda doing? Obviously she was testing Mia, as she admitted doing to Ethan (during his entire trials during the gameplay) to see if Rose is really the "chosen one", but I NEED TO KNOW DAMNIT.
We deserve it. I don’t care if they charge money for the DLC.
In Village when you enter Miranda’s Lab it’s journals explaining the experiments but a DLC should be added so we can actually play them moments in her journals

First of all, the voice acting is just on POINT. Also, I love how Capcom straight up answered all of our questions directly. "How the fuck did he get his limbs cut off and still pushing on?!"

Ethan’s biggest mistake was not divorcing her after the events of RE7. I’d be done with her after that. Mia’s a danger to everyone around her tbh. I understand why she’s secretive, but she’s clearly not capable of handling herself
He should've divorced her way before all of this since she lied to him about her job. I wouldn't stay with someone lying to me all the time. It's a trait of a toxic relationship.

Man! When i learned her involvment with Eveline and the Connection and what it did to the Bakers i chosen to save Zoe, but it was not possible. But when you played the previous RE games in particular the Raccoon city, Arclay mountain events, people that deal with bioterrorism just can't be forgiven.
No, his biggest mistake was going all the way to Dulvey to look for her! Three years is enough time, she should've been declared dead and he finds someone new.
I think Mia would end up becoming one of the most hated characters in RE lore. Not just because she's a lame character in general, but she's also just as responsible for everything that's happened in RE7 and RE8.
She did do a lot of shady stuff in the background and the fact that she kept a huge secret from Ethan in Resident Evil Village is just the icing on the cake

Maybe she's obsessed with the mold, not with Ethan, so that's why she was willing to have a mold baby, or maybe was just surprised with Ethan's Mr. Fantastic abilities 😂😂

I actually think Mia is a fascinating character! She get's a lot of hate (some of it totally warranted) but she's also very complex. Why did she work for The Connections and how did she get away from them in RE8? When did she find out Ethan was "dead"? What if she also retains certain mould powers too?
As for the "Secret" she kept from Ethan, I feel like Ethan probably shoulda figured that out with half the stuff he goes through in RE7 & Re8!!!
It’s seems very complicated but Mia does seem to truly love Ethan. I gotta believe her previous line of work would force her into secrecy.

I think the only person she loved was Ethan. But all the rest including her daughters she didn't. She just uses people to get a head of things including Evelin and Rose. Mia only lived because she built a bond as Evelin mom but it was Mias fault she went crazy. While look at Rose it looks like she didn't get a much better life then Evelin. In way Mia treated and raised Rose just like she treated raised Evelin. Ethan was probably the only one treating Rose right.

Plus the idea that Rose will be be tasked to stop her. Would she even want to stop her mom from getting her father back & be family….
@@NesDogg ya that would be interesting Mia who went mad with sadness will do everything to get Ethan back. To the point she's willing to sacrifice her own family or even her self for him. Maybe even driven by a new type of mold that she was infected with by Miranda and no one noticed because they were focused on Rose and her powers.
i dont like how they make evie out to be evil she wasnt evil she was given a power that corrupt her if she had a loving family that wasnt treated like a weapon she wouldnt of been like this she just wanted to be loved and the only way she could find that love is by controlling people into loving her even in the end all she thought about was love saying in the end "why doesnt anyone love me"
Her moral compass would be entirely different from everyone else's too, she is a child/bioweapon who doesn't have a clear idea about wrong and right. She was made to infect others, not to mention that she also had a child-like mindset and just wanted to be like any other kid. I honestly don't think what she did on the boat was wrong, they were going to make her do that kind of stuff to others anyways so that's pure karma tbh. All Evie did was escape, she even said she just wanted to live in a household with parents. What she did to the Bakers was cruel and she obviously needed to be terminated but yeah, even Jack could sympathize with her even after everything's she's done to him and his family. Also at the end bit she said "Why does everyone hate me?"
Maybe it's the mold that's doing the thinking. You know how mold works... It expands 😁

RE7 Chris looks so very horrible bland. Luckily they restore him back to the boulder puncher haha! The stupid part is why Chris can't be bothered to tell Ethan it's not Mia he shot.

One thing I didn't like near the end of RE7 was the illusion of choice between whether to cure Mia or Zoe by having Eveline kill Zoe if you choose her. What they should have done is if you choose Zoe she helps you kill Eveline on the ship to avenge her family and escapes with Ethan. They could explain it as Ethan having chosen Zoe, the woman who tried to help him, her family and countless others be cured of the mould along with herself over Mia, the wife who lied to him and worked for the company that created the thing that caused everything. To be fair to Mia, shady as she is I think she tried to look after Eveline while she was transporting her and only got pissed when Evie started killing the crew.
She didn't actually care for Eveline though, she may have been assigned as a guardian for her with Alan but it was strictly professional. That's why she felt so neglected and abnormal, she just wanted a life like any other kid but instead had to live in the labs. All Evie did was do to them what they wanted her to do to others.
It's just funny Ethan never once glued his arm back on and thought "huh, that's not normal"

Ok my question is at what point exactly was Ethan killed? Like was it the foot stomp to the face? Or was it at some point between being dragged by Jack and waking up tied to a chair? And if it was after being stomped on whne did he get infected with the mold? So many questions lol
I would assume that kick to the head would have been enough to kill him but if not then its just assumed that Jack probably hit him more a couple of more times while he was out

@@touchuvclazz He fell into a puddle of Mia’s Mold-contaminated blood when Jack punched him in the face and knocked him down. I think that has to be the point where it entered his body. It makes the most sense, plus no matter where you are in the area at the time Jack appears after fighting Mia, Ethan ALWAYS lands face first into that puddle of Mia’s blood. Combined with the fact that this same image showed up in Eveline’s reveal makes me believe this was when it happened.

7:26 and this is where I start having really big questions about stuff that just doesn't make sense for what we learn in RE8, do you really think that Umbrella or chris would just let Ethan go if he was really made of mold or if he was still infected with the mold? If he is made of it like RE8 says that makes him a B.O.W. even if a really crappy one with no power apart from regeneration, they would have locked him up in a lab the second the blood tests came back.
Also Mia let a creature made of mold sleep with her? Think about that one.
I'm with you there. I wonder if they used him to lure Miranda to find the megamycete. Maybe knowing Mia would seek Miranda (cause she got "caught" as she said) and learn of Rose...maybe Mia was trying to save Ethan.
@@kwbalance108 theirs a theory that Rose was never really a live in the first place in the doll house theirs were was hallucinations about Mia saying she was so sorry to Ethan that baby had died. But because Ethan was part molden Rose came back. Rose body could have been dieing like Ethans body so Mia could have ran to mother Miranda seeking help. But in her quest to save her family she was tricked caught and experimented on. Mia could have caused all of it in hope she could save the only one she loved
@@gemrock That's a really good theory, and would make perfect sense if true! But I agree, Mia departed on a secret mission to try to save her family, especially Ethan...my mind continues to go back to that idea. No other way she got "caught"!
Sherry had regenerating abilities too and she was immediately experimented and tested on by the US Government. But they did exactly nothing to Ethan who was clearly into some shit with the infected Baker family. Such a plot hole 😅
He also has super human endurance, I mean he runs all over the place, barely panting for hours and hours. He also (imo,) has expert hand to hand skills. He has super human reflexes which is based on how the player reacts to damage coming his way. I do wish they had given him super human strength though.
Let’s not forget that Mia knowingly and willingly did the horizontal mambo with mold. With mold.

Some people say that Eveline isn't scary, but if memory serves me in RE7 in one of the files it explains that Eveline was deliberately designed to look like a normal girl to hide the fact that she is a bioweapon. Mia had to pretend to be her mom. Basically, the idea was to make Eveline and Mia look like a normal family.
Mia is definitely a difficult person for me. Even if we assume that at the time she became part of the connection, she did not know what its real goal was. Some of her actions in RE7 can be explained by the fact that she was at least temporarily under the influence of the Mold and Evie at the time, so I feel like she has little to no guilt about what happened to Evie, the Bakers, the other crew members, or Ethan. Instead, she continues to hide important information from him, which ultimately ensures that he will have to go through hell yet another time.
Since I haven't played Village yet, I can say little about Mia's moral compass, but the very fact that she doesn't tell Ethan about his own condition and they have a daughter who is effectively a more stable version of Evie (wicked tongues would say Evie 2.0) suggests to me that she is a rather dubious person.
I think Mia would have been more sympathetic with view to Village if she had sacrificed herself in VII to save Ethan and he ended up with Zoe at some point. She knew nothing of his condition, so a Mold-human hybrid would have been possible here as well, and at least from what I've seen so far, little would have changed in the plot. Information Ethan gets from Mia he could have gotten just as much from Miranda (or from the trader) and it would have made Mia, at least for me, not the second least sympathetic love interest of a protagonist in an RE part (if Claire and Neil Fisher (Revelations 2) was a thing, if not she is the worst for me).

Speaking of Zoey. Is anyone a bit worried that The Mold could be reborn through or extracted from her at any point? I mean, her style of of infection in the DLC did seem a bit unique.
I did too. I preferred her more. She never lied to Ethan or kept secrets from him like Mia did

I don't get why some people don't like Mia all I see from them is that she lied to Ethan about her job but tbh I would've too Ethan will put himself in dangerous situations to protect the people he loves so that's why Mia didn't tell him the truth because if she did he would've wanted to be involved and she didn't want to see him get hurt this was also the reason why Chris didn't tell Ethan the truth because he knows that Ethan will stop at nothing to protect the people he loves
She lies the most out of any character. She is a terrorist part of a crime syndicate trying to smuggle a dangerous bio weapon that they couldn’t contain. And I don’t even blame Eveline that much. She is a child after all. Which makes it kind of gross that even all the Eveline does I still feel uncomfortable when they call her “little b” and stuff like that. Even Ethan gangs up on poor Eveline(who is evil not excusing her at all). The only character that sees that the girl is just that, a girl, is Jack Baker. Due to Mia and the Connections criminal antics with an unhinged bio weapon with the mind of a child and unhealthy obsession and view of what a family is, causes the demise of a full ship crew. Then the poor Bakers(minus Lucas who was already a loose cannon) gets infected and are driven mad and commit heinous atrocities. Then Ethan gets roped into it and the man gets tortured with his limbs being cut off, he gets beaten into a pulp and even at the end he’s frightened at the visions of Mia(I honestly don’t see how he can still be with her. I’d always be thinking about that forever lol). And she still omits the truth from him about herself their child, and him. The only saving grace is that everyone in RE8 hides the truth from Ethan from Chris to Miranda to the Duke lol. Heisenberg might be the most honest and straightforward towards Ethan😂😂

This whole thing was Mia's fault! She should've been honest in the beginning! Maybe Ethan would still be alive! Ethan should've just listen to his friend and moved on after three years!
What people don't seem to get is the connections forced her to work for them 🙄 and if she refused or went to the police they would have gone after Ethan and hurt or killed him if she didn't work for them I would have gone and saved her from the baker house and decided to give her the cure because unlike zoe when Ethan said I just got done dealing with your mom and her bugs zoe doesn't warn or tell him about it shr just laugh and says sorry about that like seriously 🙄 but mia saved Ethan from Eveline on the destroyed ship.
Agreed and if Ethan didn't have the mold in his body then he would have died when Miranda ripped out his heart. So in a way the mold saved Ethans live.

I am wondering what experiments were done... Unless I missed a file or something, or am blanking, there wasn't mention of what Mia went through besides what she said. Hope we can get some DLC furthering what her experiences were.
They were unclear about those experiments but hopefully they'll explain more in the DLC.
Unlikely, if there a dlc since rose is a teenage now the dlc will be about Chris and the shady activities of the BSAA.
They probably won't ever elaborate on that because the whole idea of Miranda swapping places with Mia was done at the last minute purely to make Chris seem 'less evil', without taking into consideration what that actually means for Mia and Miranda. Considering how Mia is absent in the epilogue and the Rose DLC I bet Capcom really wanted her to be killed off and only spared her for Chris's sake rather than because they had plans for Mia.
I was really hoping at the end of re8 Chris would unload his machine gun into Mia, she's still a terrible person and was responsible for the events of re7 and never told Ethan the truth about anything.no responsibility and no accountability.

In the picture of The Connections research team, with Mia, Eveline, and Mother Miranda, is the other guy in dark colors the director guy who pretended to be Eveline's father who we see die in the video tape in RE7 on the ship?

RE7 & RE8 are primarily focused on the importance of family. Imo.
I will admit that I didn't like Mia in Resident Evil 7, she was working with the Connections and never told you about it, tried to kill you many times under the mold infection, she just wasn't trustworthy, but Mia did have a turn around in Village, you find out she's alive near the end of Village, and that was Miranda impersonating Mia at the beging of Village, in the end she truly loves Ethan and Rosemary and redeemed herself, thank you HeY DeVuH for nice video on a character I used to not care for 😇
She didn’t really redeemed her self. Her loving her family doesn’t mean redemption. Her actions in 7 and prior leads to the death of her husband and her daughter becoming a bio weapon. And she kept a bunch of secrets. I agree with her being a pseudo/anti villain

I'm confused about something, if at the end of resident evil 7 Mia was given an antidote and cured and then she and Ethan had sex and had Rose, would she not have been reinfected after she had sex with Ethan? Seems like she should be mold again.
Honestly, she’s a pretty awful person. If she were real, I’d be genuinely concerned about her ability to raise Rose, especially all on her own with Ethan gone.

Don't forget Evil Dead was a massive influence...almost everything from the handless stuff, to setting, scenery, infection through mold rather than possession through incantation... love those movies. And the Chin 😎
I don't know if I would categorice Mia as a villan. She is an antagonist for sure, but honestly... I like that.
I see Mia as a scientist. And aß such she is very practical and unscrupelous. She is devotet to her research, she offered herself to bei Evelins caretaker. And after Evelin was killed, Ethan was the only thing left from Evelin the very effektive bioweapon. She was way to much Out of controle, but Ethan who was a human ones was not. And Mia could Control him a one of a kind of opportunity. So she got pregnant to give birth to a new Generation of bioweapons. Half human, half mold. Powerful, but they had a ghost.
Maybe she ist immoral, butof my theory is true she is very smart. And that makes her Dangerous. The privilege to watch over Evelin and Ethan puts her, in my opinion, in a high ranking position inside the organisation.
And I think that there is more to her than meets the eye. Mia is still Important. If not Miranda would have killed her.

I just wanted to say if you look closely enough the gun that Chris shoots miranda with whilst she is in the form of Mia kinda looks like the semi automatic pistol in red dead redemption.
I think Ethan was an unwilling and oblivious experiment of the Connections. Mia was there to keep Evelyn in check pretending as a mother. Mia was there to keep Ethans mind in check as well in pretending to be Ethan's wife.
Why would the connection care about Ethan? It makes sense that Eveline would have Mia lure him to the baker house because she wanted a family and he could be a potential “father” to her. It makes no sense in the story that Ethan had a purpose in the experiment beforehand and that the Connections would want anything to do with him.

Ethan's BIGGEST mistake is to marry her.
My least likeable character in the entire franchise. I honestly like Osmond Saddler, Derek C. Simmons and steve burnside more than Mia and trust me i dislike these 3 deeply but at least they had character while Mia has a Character similar to a loaf of bread, even at the beginning when she showed some repressed Anger and i got a little excited it turned out to be Miranda. smfh

I always saw Mia as something like a spy. She did research that probably led to the deaths of others without batting an eye but as soon as she walked through her doorway she let it all go and lived a happy normal life. But when her work life mixed with her personal life I think she tried to separate the two; she probably tried to research and maybe contact Miranda to cure Ethan but Miranda was more interested in Ethan and Rose than saving them. I don't doubt that she loved Ethan and Rose but I think she was way over her head and wanted to keep some semblance of normalcy and happiness the only way she knew how. Secrets and research.

I believe that Mia may have known about Miranda but probably only as whatever name Mother Miranda was going by and title. I think it's possible she believed that MM was a scientist or in the scientific field some how. Then when Mia began to realize that eventually the scientist and such would realize that Ethan wasn't really fully human and had died, but still was able to have a child with Mia, well she got desperate for some way to heal him so he would still be alive but not mold and she would know about where to go to a lab to find information. That lab of course would be the scientists lab who found that thing that became the mold and Eveline. So they moved just close enough she could sneak away and get into the lab, but one time too many she got caught and became the perfect lab rat for MM. She's just as sad a story as her husband, from beginning to end she's always been unable to fix the problems caused by people being greedy. She lost her husband and her daughter is outed as the perfect weapon, I think she gets a bad take because she lied, and also because she cooperated with connections in the beginning.
I still feel that Mia is suspicious I still don’t trust her lol.

RE7 is a better game overall than Village…Change my mind.
7 had cheesy horror it felt like silent hill, the enemies we’re lazily designed, the final boss battle was a joke, Ethan’s personality was bland, the puzzles were a joke, and it left a bunch of unanswered questions. There was only three types of mold creatures and one of them was a recycled licker, which Is lazy design.
@@luisanthonyserrano9326 RE8 definitely has more variety with enemy types. I will give you that. However, the Baker family and the setting in RE7 set the tone, and whether or not the plot draws on Silent Hill, the experience of playing on PS VR was absolutely a visceral experience and one that leaves a lasting impression. RE7 has much better boss battles, with the exception of Eveline as the final boss. Yes, the Donna Beneviento section is horror done right, but Lady D, Salvatore Moreu, and Mother Miranda are nothing special besides being bullet sponges. I really hope that anyone who has played a traditional RE game does not consider the hide and seek sequence with Angie a boss battle. By no means am I saying RE8 is a bad game, I guess I just expected more after RE7 brought the series back to its survival horror roots.

This was deep that was bigg - I think Ethan reanimated and rose might grow up to help the bssa or atleast redfield and his team she may posses powers and Mia may still be working with a sub company of umbrella- she can end up being the antagonist- ( knows way more then she even let’s on ( Miranda s puppet even after - will she return ☝️- if Ethan can so can she possible But this is interesting if Rose becomes a playable character if they do a time jump - she might have some dope powers and be able to use them - Be the “good bio weapon “ 🤷🏻♂️ - I’m just very happy with the story and I definitely would love for them to keep going with the story bring the original resident evil characters into this somehow, I heard rumors ada Wong was supposed to be in this but that was just concept art - ( creepy mask( nuclear mask with the pointy noise Come to think of it similar but different to what mother Miranda where’s around her face) disguise the whole 9 yards ) If they make remix awesome call Veronica and RE 4 .... but if and when 9 comes out I dunno but I feel like they should Bring in everyone all the main characters from all the resident evils and have an ultimate game I mean come on the build up as been 20+ years they can slay it with a dope re 9 - after this game they definitely Can film some main roles with characters we are used to, and let them finish what Ethan did in the village and was red field- is doing around the world ( BSAA etc ....) She could be a more interesting character if it turns out that her family and relationship with EW is preyed on by Eveline long before RE 8.. that she is always the plan to be the bioweapon.. etc... but idk. Nah, she told him to forget her, years later she contacts him and HE decides to go find her. Please tell me how Mia PULLED Ethan into this. I'm not saying Mia's clean or anything, just wondering how you're spinning this to blame Mia
I would say the fact that she worked with a crime syndicate this whole time and not letting Ethan know was already a big deal. The mere fact of her omitting such important information in regards to the mold, what it could do only made things worst for Ethan. In Village she again omitted the fact that she knew about Ethan being Mold

Yes I agree if not for Mia's involvement no RE7 or 8, but if we get down to the nitty gritty. Ethan went looking for Mia, getting himself into the situation. He could have called the authorities to check the location, and they most likely would have checked. I mean missing person for three years, showing up unexpectedly. That's a pretty good and logical reason
