The Singles Household of Strangetown consists of Erin Beaker, Kristen Loste, and the alien sisters Chloe and Lola Curious. How did they end up as roommates? Who knows, but they somehow make it work... even though not everyone is getting along. But some of the girls already have crushes on each other 👀💕
I hope you liked this Strangetown lot makeover! This video is part of my big Sims 2 Lot Renovation project where I intend to remake all of the Maxis-made houses and give them my own twist.

love what you were able to do with this reno on such a small budget! i usually have acr randomise my sims' sexualities with a high likelihood of them being bisexual (i like options!) so the singles household quickly becomes a big love nest with everyone flirting with each other lol. they do not stay single for long!
That's what I do too and ACR randomized one of the girls as gay and the other one as bi so they started hitting it off immediately! :D
I was half expecting the Singles to be at 73 Road to Nowhere and Ajay to be here (this is 91 Road to Nowhere). That's how I set these bin sims up at least. But you did well for these four girls nonetheless.
I talked a little bit about who each of the girls ended up with in my hood, so here's their sides to the story here. They all recently graduated from College and bought a house to live in together. Lola and Chole share the bigger room, while Erin got the smaller room on the main floor. Kirsten got the basement so she had room for her gym downstairs. Lola is in the Politics career, Chole in the Slacker career, Erin in the Paranormal career and Kristen in the Athletic career.
Lola and Chole were both raised by Glabe Curious, their step-mother [their father Glarn walked out on them when they were babies]. Also, Glabe used the Elixir of life on them because she just couldn't stand the thought of the children growing up. Of course, they quickly figured this out and stopped drinking their 'juice' before school, so they were a bit younger than their half-sister/step-mum Jenny. [Which is very shocking...] As I mentioned, Lola became the stepmother to Tank, Ripp and Buck [and is doing a grand job with them], while Chole ended up in a fling with Ajay and they are co-parenting their child. Chole is a surprisingly good mother in my game.
While Loki became an evil scientist due to his parents' abuse, Erin took the high road and became a better woman. She studies Paranormal so she can help lost souls find peace in the afterlife, and has a special connection with the supernatural species like aliens. She was very happy to become Vidcund's wife, and the two happily raise Nova [Vidcund's alien baby] together.
Kristen, much like Ajay, didn't really care for Strangetown at first and just wanted her career to get off the ground. However, Kristen found out that the people in Strangetown were very good-hearted and caring. She ended up getting together with Pascel, and found out she really liked being a mum to Tycho [the alien baby].

I love how you turned this little house into a more liveable situation. In my game, I have Ajay Loner in this house with his wife (previously a downtownie he hit it off with) and their one son.
Lola and Erin naturally got together in my game💕 Lola is a big-wig CEO lady and Erin focuses on spirituality and baking. She ended up opening up her own bakery/plant shop and it’s the cutest little shop in town🥲 The couple also adopted 3 strays cats (Erin has a thing for the stray cats) and they also adopted a child. Sadly, time has passed and Lola is now deceased. Their child just returned from college. Erin is also getting up there in age 🥺
CHLOE AND KRISTEN ALSO GOT TOGETHER. Chloe had a few boyfriends/girlfriends, but Kristen seemed really persistent. They got married. Chloe enjoyed the engagement, but then really despised the marriage. She’s sneaking about Kristen’s back and is up to 18 lovers. Chloe is a retired spirits/wine seller, and Kristen works in journalism and focuses on becoming a proclaimed author. They’re elders now and poor Kristen is still head over heels for Chloe… since Chloe’s hobby is nature, she always stares up at the sky. A part of me hopes she gets the rarity of getting hit by a satellite😅 Then I can move Kristen in with her old roommate (Erin) and they can spend their days reminiscing about the good old days.

Question for your Q&A - how do you choose colour schemes for houses exteriors and also the interiors? I feel like if it’s not a bedroom (where I just use the sim’s favourite colour) I just do everything grey or white 😫
A good tip is to place something with pattern first. Usually in my game that's a set of curtains (I use the ones by Jonesi and have a ton of recolours), but rugs also work, as well as beddings. Then, take the colours from within said pattern and paste them around the rooms. Contrasting colours work well, so if you have a pattern with a lot of blue, try pasting some orange or some yellow to add some contrast. The best way to understand contrasting colours is to look at a colour wheel - choose a colour and whichever one is opposite e.g., blue and yellow, those are contrasting colours. Remember to add neutrals, such as white (which brightens a space), and well as grey and black (which can darken a space). If you struggle to find coloured objects within the game that match (or are close to) colours within patterns, there are a bunch of maxis object recolours by Luasims on Tumblr. Those are the ones that I use because I like the colour actions, but some other colour actions are Yeti (more pastel) and Lack (more bright), and I think Lilith might have some colour actions as well 🤔 I find that Luasims have a decent collection of bright and pastel tones, as well as some good neutrals 👏
