    After a glorious nights sleep, our intrepid explorers awake... to a very damp and dreary looking Switzerland. But fear not, for a few hours later, a gap appears in the weather and riding suddenly appears back on the menu as Smokey and Andy charge out to tackle the many sides of the St Gotthard Pass!

      Cheers mate. Yeah it’s amazing up there. TBH i didn’t find it too restrictive. The best bits are too twisty to get into 2nd gear all that often! But then the FZ1 will do over 100 in 1st... But next year I’ll probably go somewhere with a 100km/h limit and a bit of a more relaxed attitude! Shame, cos it’s so beautiful!!

    Nice to see you back. Magnificent scenery again, the new road looked enticing, the cobblestones, not so much. Certainly not use to them down under. The AMC returns. 😀I’ve also just done a 2500 km trip down to Phillip Island, Victoria for the Australian MotoGP. 🏍🏍No highways of course. Route planned via the NSW & Victorian Alps. ( laugh as you will, we do in fact call some of our mountain regions alps, just not the scale you guys get)Many twisties. Had a blast. Keep em coming Andy.

      @@AndyManCam it is the Spark that you have isn't it? They are bloomin amazing bits of kit :-)
      I guess in these locations the weather is always going to be a gamble. Them cobbled uturns looked pretty scetchy, proper testament to the tyres you fitted.
      I'm well impressed with the camera itself, but the app and PC software is still very much lacking. They have promised to improve on them though :-)

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  6 лет назад +1

      Yep. Spark. I think it's amazing. Results vs investment it's truly unbeatable. I found similar with the Garmin VIRB 360. The hardware was very good. But the steps needed in post production were like pulling teeth. The camera has (thankfully) long since gone back to Garmin (600 quid was too steep for me!) but I'm still dreading dealing with a lot of footage for the next videos.

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones 6 лет назад +1

      @@AndyManCam the fudges I am having to do to get the One X footage is pretty painful too. Am having to render the full 360 vid, then screen grab it while watching it and adjust the camera angle "live" to be able to frame it how I want it. Then I can add that render to my main edit and rerender again! :D once their PC software gets the add ons required I am hoping it will be a lot easier and also lose less quality of the footage :-)

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  6 лет назад +1

      Ouch! That sounds like a proper nightmare! I won't complain so much then. Garmin at least had their Hyperframe feature which allows you to keyframe movements. But nevertheless, it always lost quality as their quality presets in post were totally mismatched with the original video. Obvious example of two separate teams NOT talking to each other!!

      Switzerland IS fantastic! Shame about the super slow speed limits! That said, the twisty bits in between are plenty technical enough that you don't HAVE to smash the limit to still really enjoy it. We got both halves of the conversation by taking the audio from each other's cameras. So you might have to hook a camera up on the Mrs lid too! PS, I tried OTG a while back, and it was one of the slowest and most frustrating endeavours of my motovlogging life! By the time I'd backed up one memory card, usually the device battery was dead! And of course you can't charge and transfer at the same time! I've also got a Toshiba Canvio Aero Wifi HDD. For me it was a nightmare from the beginning because I always have so many cameras!! I bought my Windows tablet 'refurbished' for about 250€ though I think there are cheaper ones out there. The secret weapon was finding something portable that had a full sized USB port. Mine has USB 3.0 too, which really speeds up the backup process.

    Hey andy, bought the same helmet you have some time ago, how do you handle the awfull flimsy visor mechanic, any tipps?

      The MTR? Or the AGV? I guess just to be gentle with it! Sadly on cheaper helmets, they have to cut the costs somewhere so we get rubbish clips and catches.

      Ah yes, gotcha. Yeah it's not the best is it. You just have to be very precise. Make sure that all the holes and tabs are lined up perfectly before you try to insert the retainer piece. Also I often do one side first and then the other. Rather than trying to line both up and hope that one side stays still while you screw the other. Sadly it is pretty fiddly. At least it's a good lid in between visor swaps though!!

      No we hadn’t! Though to be fair, we weren’t kicking the arse out if it. Nothing as crazy as Sue and Jason were!

      @@AndyManCam I think the thing to do with the swiss cops is to do 30 km/h knee downs in front of them. Repeatedly. Then, when they get pissed off and pull you over, you ask them to critique your style.

      Cheers! It’s a Sony FDR-X3000. Really nice camera. Easily the favourite from all the various cams I’ve had.

      Normally it's good practice to watch a video to the end before telling the creator what's missing from the video. Guess where we went at the end? 🤣
