I had to comment and second the comments given by @Motorcycle_Mike. This has to rate as one of the finest motorcycle videos on YT. Scene selection, 360 video selection, views, scenery commentary etc etc was absolutely perfect. An absolute pleasure to watch. Thank you.
The cinematography on this video was stunning. What a 2wheel paradise to have played on those roads. You’re truly a master with shot selection and camera placement, and an absolute talent with those editing skills. Well done, mate! Hope all well, if you have time, maybe throw an update on your IG story with the surgery recovery. Have a fantastic weekend.
Thanks very very much Mike. Really happy to hear that the videos have that effect! The ear is healing very nicely and i should hopefully be able to even do a RUclips update relatively soon! 🤙🏼
Andy, this is the closest it gets to seeing the view with your own eyes. Amazing work mate, I need another trip to the GroBglockner, but first it’s a long trip down to Sorrento in July.
I totally agree, that mountain road is one of the best that I have rode. It cost 24 euros in July 2017 when I did it on my way to Croatia from England on my MT07. It is well worth the cost but I did it a little slower to enjoy the views. You were obviously enjoying the ride so thanks for sharing it with us. Ride safe.
The braking method you describe near the end is exactly what my US based MSF instructors taught. Although I've never had the chance to try it in the Austrian Alps! Fantastic post and video!
Cool, glad to see I’m on the right track then! I can tell you wholeheartedly that it really works and makes the steep downhill twisties far less daunting!
Watch out for the bulldozer in the tunnels! "Quest e giornee quando vienee il bell soleille!" And buses with payloads hanging off their arse ends! Truly magnificent. I can only hope to do this one day.
Your motor blogs are very relaxing and entertaining. They are on a par with the Japanese motorcycle blogs, which have a tendency to be very interesting and uniquely artistic at times. The 360 camera is awesome.
Because of your videos, Großglockner is now on my bucket list of places to ride!! BEAUTIFUL!!! If I don’t ever make it over there, at least I can watch your videos over and over again. Thanks for sharing!!
This video decided me to visit Austria and the Großglockner Road, albeit with my family in the car😂 from Holland. It's now in my bucket list to go there with my son on bikes!!!!
It’s a trip you certainly won’t regret! Utterly stunning road to ride. I could have ridden it every day for a week and never gotten bored! In the car is probably beautiful. On the bike is ethereal!
I have to both congratulate you and thank you for this series of videos of your travels in Austria. Not only were they great entertainment, they were informative and have been a fantastic aid to me for planning my routes this coming summer. Bloody awesome.... cheers budd
Bit of epic footage there Mr Canman. Magical at the top ,I could feel my nether regions shrinking in the chlliness. Another watch needed to drink it all in again. Superb Happy travels 👍
Another amazing video Andy… (Obviously all you and nothing to do with the stunning scenery! 😉) Seeing all those stunning roads/views again have got me a ‘little’ bit excited for my own trip there next month!… I’m sure it’ll be no surprise to hear I absolutely cannot wait to get going (as soon as some more of the snow melts/gets cleared! 🤣) Hope the recovery is still going well. Looking forward to the next video in this series and to more when you can get back out there! 👍 Keep up the awesome work! 😎
I was there 3times. Planing to go in july. Its a must see. No words to explain. Always sad when i go down.haha.so, i understand you. Nice video.take care.good ride,on the wrong side😂...doing good.bravo
I've been watching Andy all week. It's so great to see Europe through a lens. Unfortunately I've never been out of the US so this is so fascinating to me!
It has probably already been said earlier but with all those comments I am not going to check. The idea of the circles on the hairpin bends increasing in size until you reach the apex, is brilliant. Add to that the fact that riding through them ensures you don't hang your skull in the opposite lane adds to the safety factor hugely. Something that should be used more broadly.
I totally agree! Not only is it safer, but it makes the riding so much more enjoyable! Passes like the Stelvio are undeniably spectacular, but there are no end of people who manage to ditch their bikes on those impossibly tight zig-zags!
What an epic road, your doing a great job on filming all of this too!! I love your riding too, I see so many people struglle with hairpins and other corners on those passes that my heart almost stops beating. You just developed a technique used by Moto GP racers out of intuition, and feel love it. You must, if your in to it, try trail braking in combination with the rear brake. Once I understand the physics my riding when up by 50% lol. Keep making this vids, they are very enjoyable to watch!! Safe travels!!
Fantastic Andy, just what I needed on a Friday evening! All booked for my tour now, will be storming (artistic license!) the Großglockner early July on my way to Slovinia, not sure what on yet but it (probably) won't have 140+ HP! Will be a shortish day so might follow your example and have a couple of goes... Hopefully won't have a puncture like I did the last time I rode it. Hope you're on the way to recovery.
Fingers crossed guys! I sincerely hope you get to see it somehow as empty as i did. From what I’ve heard, it’s almost never like that though sadly. I’m still wondering if it actually really happened! In any case, enjoy the hell out of it and leave enough time to chill out and really soak it in (and go back and forth at least three times!) cheers!!
Oh no you did one of my biggest pet peeves. People getting on their bike from non leaning side. Don'T know why but always throws me off ;) To my shame i have never been on the ol Großglockner And i'm austrian. ShockHorror seems i gotta go there this year
Haha! Sorry about that! I’m just too lazy to walk around the bike sometimes! It’s easy to ignore what’s on your doorstep, but it’s not too late to open your eyes! 🤩
Ausgezeichnet Andy , your most cinematic effort yet. Good combo of wide angle and rotation with the 360…. didn’t get motion sickness once….. honest. Hope the ear thing went well and is healing nicely.
Thanks Christian! I’m really glad to hear that. I’ve been making a real effort to use the ‚less is more‘ mantra with the 360 stuff! The ear is healing very well thanks!
Love your videos Andy, the Glockner ain’t that expensive when you get the season pass like I do for 108 € 🤣🤣 I live about an hour away. Watching this one the 3rd time I found one little error: the border is between Carinthia and Salzburg.
Love your videos Andy, stunning pictures and great commentary as always! This series has inspired me to do my first European trip from the UK taking in the Nordschleiffe, Grossglockner and the Zillertal on my CB1000R. Keep up the good work!
Will you make the train 🚂 ??!! Can’t wait for the next episode 👍 Hoping your recovery is going well & you’ll be back out on the bike soon. Have you had any more thoughts about changing it & what you might go for? Suppose we’ll have to wait and see....😆
Love the scenery side shots using the 360. Not using the rear brake and trail braking the front brake is all the rage these days, which I suppose is fine if you're on a race track but no good on roads. Trust your ear is on the mend. 👍. Catch phrase from the TV character Uncle Staveley's in the sitcom I Didn't Know You Cared springs to mind. 🤭😉
Cheers! I’ll be honest, I’ve never fully worn a rear brake pad out myself. Always tended to leave the rear alone except in town. But now my eyes are open to the fact that it’s actually really very effective! It’s a brave new world for me!
cheers for great video lifting my mood as i recover from covid i picked up on return from le mans last weekend and a bakers cyst on my knee to boot.hope you are recovering well too
Great film Andy. Nice tip on the braking technique too. So many don’t think to pass on tips that others may not know. Keep them coming mate and stay shiny side up.

Beautiful scenery and great camera work with choice edits. I could almost feel the nipping breeze blowing onto me. "Not what she said". Lol. Have we had the surgery yet?
Fantastic! It's inspiring to see how you soldier on. Makes one appreciate the level of passion to your craft with the joy of riding. Thanks for sharing your personal challenges with us.
Great video, Thanks for sharing !! I did this pass twice, once with gorgeous weather and one under rain. Just wondering how many cameras you use, I saw the helmet one and the Insta360 mounted on the fork.
I do the rear brake trick too, it's sort of like trail braking with the rear. Applying the rear brake does push the front tyre down a little improving front end grip I believe
Thanks Alan! I really like the Handroids and i really like the company. They’re passionate about what they do and they really know what their customers want and need. Big seal of approval from me. 👍🏻
It’s almost exactly 1000 miles from my front door in England to that part of Austria. It’s going to take some serious planning to get there and back. But now I’ve seen it in this video, I must do it. Amazing footage sir 😎👍🏻
You can make it easier by riding to germany and taking the train into austria which saves a lot of time but also a lot of amzing roads. Its a tough choice but both places are amazing to be
I agree with all comments about the train. It’s brilliant, but it’s not cheap. Although for me, to get to the alps comfortably would mean at least 2 days and 3 nights. So after fuel, food and hotels, the price isn’t so bad. Although the roads in Germany are amazing, so if you’ve got time, that’s also worth it!
Thanks mate! It’s hard not to be spirited when the roads are THAT good! Although it’s worth having a few runs and just taking in the views for at least one go!
brilliant video as always, recently up there myself, your footage is brilliant,i have a hero 10 and when panning its jerky, 4k 24fps, yours is perfectly smooth panning, can i ask you which gopro and settings, looks like a hero 8 maybe, anyway very well done
Cheers mate! It is indeed a Hero 8. On this trip I think I had an ND8 filter on the lens, which really helps with the smoothness. Just remember to lock the ISO otherwise the gopro will tend to adjust the ISO to compensate rather than the shutter speed.
@@AndyManCam Thanks Andy and just to add, what a traumatic issue you have had (ears) and so pleased, fingers crossed that all is good and stays that way, Cheers.
Awesome place to ride, bucket list stuff. Great stuff thanks for sharing. 😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🥂 hope your well

Amazing vid and filming..great watch … felt like I was on the adventure too 🤟cheers Andy
Thanks Kev! That’s music to my ears mate!
16:22 - good point about the rear brake, especially when you have a passenger :D
Yeah i can imagine it’s exponentially more important in that case! Unless you want to be wearing your passenger on your head! 😂
Another great video. Got me itching to go back there. Just checked and its been 9.5 years. That's too long!!
That’s definitely too long! I‘m already getting the itch after less than ONE year!

Its a tough choice but both places are amazing to be
@@rikkert199930 thank you, I’ll look into it
@@LickyDischarge i have to give a disclaimer it is not cheap
I agree with all comments about the train. It’s brilliant, but it’s not cheap. Although for me, to get to the alps comfortably would mean at least 2 days and 3 nights. So after fuel, food and hotels, the price isn’t so bad. Although the roads in Germany are amazing, so if you’ve got time, that’s also worth it!
Lovely views, great spirited ride, really enjoyed it 😍🤘🏻
Thanks mate!
Hi Andy, loved every minute of this ride, amazing scenery and extra special editing on this one, ride safe and enjoy.
Many thanks Derek! Was nice to remind myself of just how incredible that ride was! I want to go back!
@@AndyManCam Thanks Andy and just to add, what a traumatic issue you have had (ears) and so pleased, fingers crossed that all is good and stays that way, Cheers.
My pleasure Derek and thank you again for the well wishing. All is healing very nicely thanks 🙏🏻
One day your patreon followers will get you a knee down training day and we’ll all get to hear your giggle with glee as you knee drag those corners
That would be pretty cool! Maybe a bit of wheelie school too! 😜
Excellent......U Da Man
Cheers Stewart, but really it’s you for watching! 🙌🏻
