    Une musique riche et dense,une explosion de sons souvent incisifs et aussi d’une grande douceur dans l’Andante merveilleusement soutenu par Janos Starker’😊

    Poor Rostropovich...his best friend, chostakovich, did not told him the right tempo...ha,ha.

    Starker is the only one to take the correct tempo in the second movement before the harmonics. That section is a quote from Schelomo. Everyone else takes this section way too slow.

      @@alvarobitran it’s near the end of the second movement just before the harmonic section.

      @@alvarobitran Schelomo 29 to 30. And Shostakovich 2nd movement especially 142-148. But almost that whole page reminds me of the Schelomo character. Shostakovich has many quotes in his music from various composers. The opening motif is the same rhythm A’s Beethoven’s 5th symphony. Dot,dot,dot, dash. Whether these quotes are intentional or not is hard to determine.
