I just got a used 1st gen m365 and came across your video while looking for suspension ideas. I see that the video is 2 years old, how long did the suspension last?
I have the same copy and did some modifications to it: - changed the suspension to a 135mm (around 10mm longer) cheap one an used the original springs (soft enough) - take the Bolt washers from inside to outside for not to hit the top sides of the suspension - removed the mudguard assembly bracket, cause when suspensioning scooter steering bottom hits that part and limits the suspensioning. - on the original monorim mudguard is assembled right under the main steering column, which in this case i May need to glue it somehow.

All i can find on the Internets is the original designer (if true) noting that the steering column/some weld on the steering column cracks. Would be great if the truth came out because at this moment, market is flooded with 1st version suspensions and 2nd version extremely hard to find or expensive. Guess what will riders buy...
`The thing is good, I've been driving this suspension for 8 months now. You only have to remove the fender and the attachment for it, then you have enough suspension travel.
You can add some 4.5mm Chinese tubular rubber bands used for slingshots. Weave it around the spring to help remove the metallic twang you get when you go over bumps.
To be honest, I don't think it's worth the time and money. I have installed the Monorim. The quality is fine, but the accuracy of the holes are not good enough to make it a painfree install. Also when you ride, the majority of your weight should be on the back wheel, because your heels are closer to the back wheel, so you still get loads of shock coming through. It's nice to take away some of the front end shock off your wrists, but it doesn't help the ride. Plus the suspension takes away feel for the front wheel. I ended up buying the Zero 10, much better if you want to travel long distances. I do 20ks a day. I don't think you want to do more than 15min ride at a time on Xiaomi, which is about 5km. Unless of course your road is silky smooth. My xiaomi experience is 800km, Zero 10 is 50km.
my suspension ist just doing nothing like it is hard fixed. i m so angry after all this work , to see that the suspension is not doin his job. there is not 1mm suspension. Did some of you have the same problem? What can i do ?
I have installed this suspension on m365 pro. It is possible to use the original monorim madguard adapter or a 3d printed. I have no problems with the suspension. The thikness is the same with the original fork of the scooter. It provides good suspension. I don't see why is this garbage. I ordered for 30€ from aliexpress (cz). It's much better experience to ride with this than without suspension even in the city. And I can not see what is the difference with monorim. Better buy this and save money to replace spring with an air shock.

should really buy a scooter that is designed to handle off road like this. this Xiaomi scooter is for city use where road condition is a little bit better. adding an off market front suspension definitely improves the experience but I think you will need rear suspension as well because most of the weight is on the back wheel.
I don't see any evidence of any cracks to the steering column! I have just purchased one, and i want to get it properly installed. I followed the rubbish install vid they posted, but a lot is cut out? I have it in place, but i am not happy, as i have 2 gaps around 5mm each! One underneath the locking system, and one on top of the m365 frame. @Pirate, i need some help with this if possible to get rid of gaps! 😁👍

@@fleebleflam I'm not sure what the stem size is if you don't have a caliper tool but these are what they look like you just have to measure the stem first to get the correct ones. I installed a sh!t like this, and If I ride >15km/h and when I use the brake I can't control the scooter, the "steering wheel" is getting hard, to turn right or left, I'm just about to throw away the scooter.I spent a lot of money with the scooter...
I ordered some running trainers for my scooter. The type that has that air bubble thing in the sole. It should help with reducing the shock going into my back.

You can't compare xiaomi with zero. They are different price and power categories. It's like comparing ford focus with audi r8.

Get bike stem spacers they usually sell like a 12piece kit for like $10 on Amazon.

You have to unscrew the little clamp at the top and tighten the ratchet wheel on the bottom part of the kit near the spring.
