There's some weirdos in these comments. Why would you click on a video that you don't care about? If you don't like the person who made the video, why did you click on it? Just to leave a negative comment? Weird.
I don't think I'll ever understand this type of behaviour.

I just don't understand people who complain about what topics a RUclipsr chooses to cover. Seriously, how can that be a problem in their life? As for me, I'm strictly a retrogamer, and don't care much for anything post-Dreamcast, so if a video is about something modern, I don't watch it. Simple as that. Especially because there is no shortage of other retrogaming content on RUclips. People are crazy

In a nutshell, massive boxstores allowed mistreatment of staff and returns of items that weren’t even purchased at that location. 🤯😵‍💫😢 The public has been forcefed the “customer is always right” stuff so hard for so long that many people are insufferable. Music is basically free. Streaming (tv, movies) is practically free. Games are all but free with subscriptions now. And people still complain. A studio creates a game, everyone gets it for free, the studio gets shut down…thousands lose their jobs (because greedy 1%ers). And fans complain how hard done by THEY are.
The people who do great things in entertainment create what they wanted but didnt exist, and give it to others. Those who can’t scream at youtubers until they get their way. (Or more likely forget and move onto the next vitriolic comment etc etc) I look forward to a day when fandoms are filled with FANS again, and people can enjoy stuff without being horrible to eachother. Especially on youtube channels! You’d swear they were being forced to watch Clockwork Orange style LOL

As a collector and player of games, I would love expanded content about physical games. Things like which games are or aren’t getting physical releases , which physical releases are just a download code in a box (horrible) , which games have single use download codes (even more horrible , which means they can’t be played from a second hand copy ), which games require a huge patch to get them working or just optimized (still kinda bad ) , which games are complete on the physical media (good), which ones have all dlc on them as well (the best !) or which games are collections with all material on the physical media (also great). Also, differences in physical versions of the same games .
All these things help me make decisions about what to buy.
    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I don't think most "modern" gaming is worth my time. The last "modern" game I have had interest in is Elden Ring, and some of the old titles remade, maybe older sequels on newer hardware. But that's just me. I'm happy for others to review them so I don't need to spend money to find out for myself.

I wouldn’t call myself really modern gamer as I’m only a modern Nintendo gamer as far as systems go and I I intend to keep it that way. I have no desire to go with either Microsoft or Sony because there philosophies don’t jive with mine where is Nintendo’s philosophies does. One suggestion I would suggest is make opinion pieces like you’ve been currently doing or continue to do that.

If you have a high watch time on your older content relative to what is normally done, I would recommend doing a compilation and a commentary on a group of videos. It would only make sense to do it on any content that has a high watch time from the past with a little bit of a remix in there where you reintroduce it. As far as content goes, the big one that I haven't seen is dance dance revolution. It was big in the early 2000s at least in the US. There is a lot of neat arcades as well that have been overlooked and they were drivers in gaming for a bit until the Genesis and Super Nintendo came along, they dominated the video game scene.

Frankly, I'm all for you covering contemporary gaming news and commentating on various aspects. Double down away. Maybe even triple down! You could even try a meld of the two in covering the history of new games that have a retro theme to them. Perhaps even explaining the influences. Oh and if you want you could even cover what we can call Famiclone Minis which are clones of the NES and Famicom classic systems. Because that gets wild at times. Have you ever seen a NES mini clone sporting a DualShock? I have. Its trippy.

    Hi Lady Decade,
There are several reasons why I like your channel. For the retro stuff I like your documentary style, it's very informative with a good level of humour to keep things interesting.
For your current stuff, I find it interesting to hear your take on stuff that is happening. That video games crash video was facinating and gives something to think about.
Finally I enjoy your humour as I mentioned above, it is just different to other channels and I hope it remains going forwards.
For suggestions for videos. How about some history of some of the not as much talked about game series? I am thinking about games like Altered beast or Turrican series? Or perhaps a look back at how console home screens have changed over the years? Liked the 360 one but am not a fan of the Xbox series X one we have at the moment.
Either way, just keep doing what you enjoy and what works for you. Some people just simply like to complain and that is something that will never change.

I'm more interested in retro content, but I've been appreciating recent videos about current stuff (Square Enix in particular). Basically you should make videos about whatever you like, even if the subscriber base doesn't necessarily understand. If the aim is to grow, differentiation is key, while if you aim to have a dedicated, niche audience you should stick to retro. Wii U and Xbox 360 (PS3, Vita, DS/3DS, etc.), however, are becoming retro themselves, so you should definitely cover them anyway. Good luck, I'll follow you either way cause your videos are among the most entertaining content available in here.

If we have distain for a RUclipsr, see it as an opportunity to start your own channel, till then, enjoy the show. Cheers!

Without the retro games of the past, there would not be video games of today. Some of the most iconic games of the past are still present today like Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Metal Gear, Zelda, Final Fantasy, ect.

I've never left a comment before so congrats on being my 1st. Old fun games are cool but how about a review on a fun game you play. Or maybe the history of some old studios that no longer exist like 989 studios that did twisted metal 3 and 4. 2 of my fave twisted metal games

Evolving to cover contemporary gaming content makes sense. Hopefully there will still be the odd Easter egg in videos of new games that have play elements in common with what came before.

I have been subscribed to you since before you had 1K subscribers. I have always enjoyed your thorough history of retro gaming. Not every topic you cover is my cup of tea, but you always do a superb job. Don't worry about others. Do what you love, the viewers will come. Keep up the good work!! Your content is brilliant.

I'm relatively new to the channel so I don't know about the history of the fanbase here. But I will say I recall seeing your Stellar Blade vids recommended to me a lot back then (and some of your retro console vids prior to that). It was great work, hearing someone smart responding to fringe "journalist" lunatics, and giving a intelligent and sane rebuttal to the crazy twitter mobs and Kotaku types. Thank you ( ^_^)b

3:55 anything after the ps2 and xbox era is definitely NOT retro. game designs were modernized and we still use those presents today. only difference is visuals improved a bit but it is still the same experiences.
meanwhile not only is there a large visual difference between ps2 and 3 but they took more risks, there was still janky controls especially outside of main stream games. and it was a time before console games could be updated after release.
it was a separate era. and impossible to put in the same concept as ps3/360

since i don´t have anything to complain about. one thing i always recommend is; do giant compilations. the algorithm seems to love them. i can´t count the amount of times the algorithm brought me back around to the gamesack compilations. it´s just such an easy win for everyone. just do 3 hour+ vaguely themed comps of your old videos. basically free views with almost no extra work and we can just leave it on in the backround or fall asleep to.

The bizarre run of Sega’s business choices IS truly fascinating. They couldn’t get out of their way and kept making odd choices. So you’re not the only one. As someone in software development, I look at Sega as a cautionary tale.

I just love your content, Lady Decade. Modern, retro, historical, and everything in between. I am just very appreciative of your perspective and your take for many of us in the US. We don’t know a lot of how it went down in the UK, Europe, South America, and Japan. I am so happy that you do all the research to give us a different perspective.
Thank you so very much and keep doing what you want. It’s your channel and you keep doing you. It’s so very good stuff. Much appreciated.
