Managing Money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times, while orders tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too.
@@BarkandJack that new master collection with engraved salmon dial looks unbelievable, especially for the money. The 39mm legend diver with 300m rating is also an eye raiser. They have gone from nowhere to seriously challenging Tudor across dress, dive and GMT watches in just 12 months. Definitely the brand of the year in my opinion.
The main brands seem to just bring out the same thing over and over. Micro brands appear to be where to look for something interesting and new these days.
Rolex bubble is most surprising but hardly one of the best. And Pelagos doesn’t offer anything that wasn’t already available - in that serious dive segment the return of the Omega Proplof should have been the pick. Hermes and IWC are top of the heap.
I think I’m more a tool watch guy, so the Tudor would be my pick from your top 5. Do you think they’ll ever do a 39mm Pelagos FXD? I’d also pick out the Ingenieur and that blue Riviera from W&W.
I don’t this the Celebration OP is Rolex showing everyone that they can be fun. It’s basically them laughing all the way to the bank - proving that they can literally “vomit” on a dial and know people will still clamor to buy it. The same can be said for the puzzle dial day date with the emojis.
Appreciate the black FXD for sure, but the new Tudor that jumped out at me was the Heritage Black Bay Burgundy with the METAS certification, reduced case thickness, jubilee bracelet, and T-fit adjustable clasp. A huge upgrade to the 41mm Heritage BB line and absolutely fantastic on the wrist. Of course the BB 54 was an excellent and popular release as well. I also really like the recently dropped Longines Legend Diver 39mm - I've been very impressed with several of Longines' new releases such as the Ultra-Chron, Zulu GMT 39mm, and last year's Master 190th Anniversary.
I do agree with the sexy comment… and I’m willing to fight you on it. I used to buy a lot of Audi’s and the salespeople would use the word “sexy” to describe some of the features… cars, like watches, are practical, not sexy, ladies (or men, if that’s your preference) are sexy, sexy is a human characteristic. I get why salespeople say it, but you are a watch reviewer, not a seller. Any way, I’m going off piste, it’s weird, do it if you want, but I think it’s odd and agree with the critique (soz, I’ll still follow because the quality is high!)
I completely disagree on the Rolex. Just because it’s out of the norm and “fun” for them doesn’t make it a good dial design. You’re playing yourself if you really think it is.
I will never loathe a Rolex more than the Rainbow Daytona, but the celebration is in the same camp. It’s like Rolex is hoping for a product placement deal in the next Joker movie.
Can't believe Hermes is selling that for 15€! That's amazing! ;) But seriously, it's hard to make a video like this because this year has been quite spectacular for watches, it's hard to just name a few.
Interesting top 5...I liked them but have a different 5. 1. JLC Reverso Chrono 2. Tudor Heritage 3. Parmigiani Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante 4. Cartier Tank Americaine 5. Rolex Cosmograph Daytona
The LUC is the only one that grabbed my attention. Although this is not what I'd get from them. But most of the watches you listed aren't truely new watches, just variants, mostly colour, of existing ones.
I like the Rolex Bubbles the most, I would it like even more as a Date Just. But there is no way to get one… Rolex has always done unexpected watches, think about the Mickey Mouse…
Why is IWC thickness too much, but Omega’s isn’t? Both really thick for what they are and compared to the competition. Both should probably shave 2mm off their entire collection…
Big fan of IWC. Agree completely that reducing the IWC 41 chrono thickness would be massive for the brand. It's an absolutely stunning piece, but it's a thick slab on my 17cm wrist. The inherent busyness of the dial and pushbuttons combined with the traditional pilot watch flat sides amplifies the effect a bit.
Love those watches. But my 3 watches for 2023 (I have them) are: 1- Christopher Ward BelCanto Azzuro 2- Tudor BB54 3- Frédérique Constant Highlife worldtimer in brown/steel
I’m waiting on my Bel Canto still, got the Twelve Ti which has one of the nicest bracelets I’ve ever seen. What do you think of the Bel Canto in the flesh?
The strike one is a very valid choice. Finished impeccably, stunning sapphire case back. Can't even dream about spending that kind of money on a watch though.
Its actually been a hell of a year for watchmaking and honestly i feel this list has missed just how incredible some of the things to come out truly are. Christopher ward have truly pushed the bounds of affordable luxury watchmaking and the bel canto brought a high horology complication to the masse. Longines have released nothing but pure class and have put a shot across the bow of much larger manufacturers for a fraction of the cost. Grand seiko have there 10ths of a second chronograph and debatably the best GMTs on the market today. Vacheron have the 1921 a watch nobody saw coming that really gave the finger to the integrated sports watch trend and then cartier popped up with some surprise FU high horology with the Masse Mystérieuse which any watch of the year list is incomplete without, and thats without even mentioning the mechanical marvels that van cleef & arpels have been putting out, its sad that the Heures Florales Cerisier watch will not get the mentions and acclaim it deserves because it is a womans watch.
The IWC uses a Valjoux 7750 as the base. There is no way to decrease the thickness without changing the movement. Personally, I don't get it. They've been churning out the same 6/9/12 chrono dials for over 30 years. Boring.
At €15.00 for the Hermes Adrian I’ll grab 20 thanks!🤪😍🤣👍🏼 I’m still tempted by the Tudor big time & as controversial as the Rolex may be, heck I’d grab one if I could! 🎉 It’s grown on me.
A few beers ago, you modified a Seiko with coffee grounds on the lume. . . and here we are at the end of 2023, with watches costing more than some folk ever make; ever. Onward and into a new year .
Rolex, Omega = Yawn! Tudor 54 and Pelagos were decent, the best value for money watches would be the new Sinn T50 and Christopher Ward Atol plus updated C63 GMT with CW logo not name!
First mention Tudor - total shock! *Yawn* totally don't agree with the rest of your choices. Funny how Rolex doing something funky is cool -again you love it total shock! But yet criticise omega which was the best release out of them all. Very one track again Adrian, try being a bit more diverse.
I can’t take this video seriously right after he mentioned the rolex bubble dial watch. If u support such watches then you support all the weird launches from AP and you are now downgraded yourself from a gentleman to the guy who makes pop music
The OP Bubbles is fun from a Rolex POV but for consumers it really is not. It is in reality just reason for more toxicity as you see celebs with way heavier watches, treating this as a watch for their Kids etc.
here in germany i am on 2 rolex stores on the watchlist for the oyster perpetual celebration 41mm. Yesterday i asked them, if they have any informations for me after 6 months. It turns out, one store got 2 Watches in 7 months, both 36 mm and the other store got 0(!) watches. The 41mm oyster celebration could be one of the least produced rolex watches in the last years, and also it seems that cause of the different 5 layers it will not be produced for more then a few years. And the few 41 mm availible are like double in price, or even 2,5x. Really sad, i want this watch so bad
Glad you are back uploading mate 💪
Thanks brother. Hope the little one is well. 🙌🏻
The TUDOR PELAGOS is amazing, but the others not so well.

Longines smashed it so far out of the park this year none of these watches deserves to be mentioned in the same video.
Oh yeah longines are doing some awesome watches. I want to start borrowing some.

Brilliant video Adrian, and there is nothing weird about thinking watches are sexy, some cars are and people don't think that's wierd!!
Can you do a wrist check at the beginning of the video ? Just like in about effing time? Thx love you’re content btw!!!
Adrian. Can you add a bright orange nato to Bark & Jack?
Absolutely right on the IWC… spot on
JLC Polaris Chronograph grey dial, Rolex GMT Master II black/grey s&g, Tissot PRX Chronograph Bucherer blue/gold
Puzzle dial i dont get. But the bubble was amazing
My favorite watch this year is the chopard in the video, what an amazing choice!😍😍
"I'm attracted to watches...get over it". Well said Adrian! And yes - that Chopard IS sexy...
You really are the ultimate Rolex fan boy.
Omega rocks❤
2:40 please elaborate
FXD on the forefront here for me .. Reverso Chronograph also stunning release, though
That Chopard is slick
Thanks for the great year in contents, Sir Adrian;)!
The main brands seem to just bring out the same thing over and over. Micro brands appear to be where to look for something interesting and new these days.
H08 most comfortable ever
No Bel Canto?
Great stuff stick the watches no bs... 👍👍

Damn I love the Ingenuir....if they priced it under 10k I'd already own it.
Tag Heuer Skipper is the watch of the year for me
RUclips showed me a Hublot ad before this video 😂
What about the VC 222?
For me it is the Longines Legend Diver
I see that ‘legitimately’ is the favourite adverb of 2023 :))

Agreed on the BB 41 Burgundy!
40 mm explorer
If the FXD was on a bracelet then Tudor would have my money so my vote goes to the Omega.

Hermes €15 😮😅
Forget saying watches are sexy, in the last series of about ffing time you said "that's the sexiest little black boxes ive seen in a long time" 😂😂😂😂
why asking what's the "f**k you watch" when offering a preselected choice from a dropdown? Doesn't that defies the whole idea of f**k you??
I completely disagree on the Rolex. Just because it’s out of the norm and “fun” for them doesn’t make it a good dial design. You’re playing yourself if you really think it is.

You beat me to it. Unexpected isn’t criteria for best of lists. Rolex has the resources and skill to do much better.
Thank god you don’t have to buy one.
Can't believe Hermes is selling that for 15€! That's amazing! ;)
But seriously, it's hard to make a video like this because this year has been quite spectacular for watches, it's hard to just name a few.
I think I'll get a dozen and use them as stocking stuffers.
This list could be half Tudor. The new Black Bay and Black Bay 54 were also great watches released this year.
I would the Longines Zulu Time in 39mm S&G and the Tudor GMT with the Opaline dial
0:40 that title belongs to the BB54. Nobody talked about that FXD. Everyone talked about the BB54.
Interesting top 5...I liked them but have a different 5.
1. JLC Reverso Chrono
2. Tudor Heritage

Love how triggered this comment section is by the inclusion of the Rolex Celebration….well done Adrian!
None of them is my cup of tea, sorry. But you are absolutely right, watches can be sexy, sometimes even sexier than a human being.
The Hermes chronograph for 15.00 Euros seems like a good buy...
Omega AT World Timer for me!
Didn’t even think of that good shout!
The IWC is absolutely amazing 🤩

what are the chances of a discount at an Hermes Boutique? €15 is a bit steep.

nice video Adrian.. I'm doing a Master Watch Awards 2023 myself... or Awards car crash 💥 hehe.. Anyway nice video from you.

Didn’t you see the Reverso chronograph? Surely the most stunning watch of the year. Hard to believe the “fun” Rolex made it 🤷🏻♂️
Casio GCW B5000 (black). Fully forged carbon. Less than 60gm. Bombproof. Does everything you could ever need in a watch.
Rolex, Omega = Yawn! Tudor 54 and Pelagos were decent, the best value for money watches would be the new Sinn T50 and Christopher Ward Atol plus updated C63 GMT with CW logo not name!
JLC Reverso Chronograph, Tudor BB w/red bezel jubilee bracelet, Rolex Daytona Le Mans, Tag Heuer Carrera glass box, Chopard LUC 1860.
Pam01112. The panerai Luminor goldtech. I really like this watch. It will be in my list somewhere. Mentioning it, cause Panerai is often forgotten.
The Omega world timer is nice, different yet not garish. The IWC, just going with a "trend" which by the way, I do not follow. Subscribed !

Love the new Pelagos. Surprised that the Longines Spirit Zulu Time isn't on this list, nor the Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition.
Longines Zulu time 39, Tudor GMT opaline, Tag Heuer Carrera Skipper & JLC Reverso Chronograph

Agree with all but the Rolex bubble dial. Leave the fun for swatch and Casio…. Mechanical watches are ment to be mostly conservative imo
I love your group podcast trio but tbh also thoroughly enjoy your solo work even more. Please keep up with your own style of content!!!
Agreed, I much prefer the main channel here with Adrian by himself.
Patek Philippe Pilot 5924 - chronograph with dual time zone. A sports watch that will go with black tie.
amazing how some of the watch youtubers wear a Rolex, but find chopard watches absolute stunning😂
I might be crazy, but I’m just saying, I’ve never seen Adrian and Jason Segel in the same room….
I still can't get my head round the valuation of luxury watches, people will buy anything, at least a watch is tangible unlike those nfts.
I snagged the Tudor Pelagos FXD in black - so that's my vote, naturally!
Did Adrain just change his Kermit’s bracelet? Or there is a version of Kermit with solid center link version?
Have missed you Ade...... Please bring back the regular content.
Call me mad but that looks a lot like Edinburgh behind you, unmistakable. Love the channel ❤
Tag Heur Skipper should be on this list. Great watch release in 2023
Would you recommend the iwc mark xx or the Tudor blackbay heritage with red bezel?
I agree. Watches are sexy!! I look at a rose gold VC 1921 and that’s the word that comes to mind
Your video needs an edit. The price on the Hermes looks wrong.. missing a zero maybe?
Love it! We need to see a hands-on with that Hermes because I agree with you. Absolutely awesome.
For me I think it has to be the Reverso Chronograph from JLC. It’s absolutely incredible!
totally
That Rolex is so fugly, emperor’s new clothes in horological form.
Hermes and IWC wouldn’t be on my list. Can you say FUGLY? 🤪
Love the Rolex OP put my name down for one chance of getting one almost zero but you have to try.
Your videos are the reason why a bloke like myself is well informed about watches
