  • Georgia’s Atsunta pass - one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done on a bike.
This film is part of a trilogy about a month-long bikepacking adventure across the Georgian Caucasus last summer.
Do you have questions on the bike setup? Are you interested in videos about what I take on adventures like these? Let me know in the comments below!
From the hustle and bustle of Tbilisi to the quiet and remoteness of the Tushetian mountains, from lush, green valleys to rugged and rocky hiking trails, and from relaxed touring days in the saddle to pushing the bike for multiple hours along steep cliffs!
The Caucasus Crossing is a traverse of Europe’s highest mountain range. It includes gravel bike touring and pushing your bike (hike-a-bike) for multiple hours on end
The Atsunta Pass, is a hiking trail, connecting two regions over a 3.500 meter high pass, which took us almost 3 days to get up to
During this month in Georgia, I also got to know its nature, people and culture, and fell in love with this country!

Nice video! One question: how much of a pain are the street dogs? any sketchy situation?

Nice, nice. But of course one does not cycle Abano and Atsina with two full 20L panniers + other stuff. Less is more.

NO, the Abano Pass is not dangerous at all.

We saw plenty of crosses on the side of the road, marking victims of accidents… and given how narrow and steep it is, and the terrain with waterfalls crossing the road and the danger of landslides and avalanches, lots of travel guides mark it as „one of the most dangerous roads in the world“…

@@butwhatsoutthere have done that route three times. yes there are plenty of memory places of tracing accidents. but the road is still not dangerous, at least to me;):
