I saw you when I was descending from the Atsunta Pass)) I fell behind two friends. I talked a little with Moritz and Fabian, and moved on. I was glad to see you, your film made me nostalgic for those wonderful places!💔
Ah nice yess we remember you!!! And boys mentioned about the talk they had with you and we chatted with your friend’s at the border station! Hope the rest of your trip went well 🫶🏼🫶🏼 such a beautiful country and place!
Yes, everything was great🤌This is one of the best bikepacking trips of my life! I wish you great adventures in the future and unforgettable experiences! By the way, Moritz promised to send me a photo))) I forgot, but now I remember😅
Thanks I wish you the same! 🙏🏼 haha good that you remembered he for sure has the photo still! Maybe send him a message on IG (@moritzablinger) with your email so he can send it to you.
Awesome storytelling!! Your adventurous spirit, resilience, and genuine connection with locals shines through every frame of this film. Bravo to both of you and the film crew for showcasing the beauty of human connection and the breathtaking landscapes you encountered along the way!
Great adventure! It turns out that the great riding is inside Tusheti and on the Abano Pass from Omalo to Phsaveli (Kakheti side) - you did a lot of schlepping up over those passes - respect!
Yes Chaukhi pass was quite tricky with the new built trail and deep switchbacks at least the way we did it but the other way around it could be better 🤔 and yes this route def required quite a bit of hike-a-bike 😅
This was perfect! It's difficult to find a great bikepacking film after a while. There are lots of bikepacking stuff on youtube but not all that much that's this great! Well done by the film crew and it's lovely to see the two of you and the your joy of riding!
WOW! What a fantastic production! Bravo to director, producers, editors and of course the riders. We've been guiding mountain bikers for 30 years and this is one of the best features we've ever seen. Be sure to visit us here in Moab, UT if you ever come through. Would love to show you around!
I love discovering new places by bike and sharing my experiences hoping that it will inspire someone to get outside and do something they didn’t think of they could!
Love Georgia. Have run the trails there and stayed in random villages. So you hired a new pro photographer to join you locally? I’m not sure if you mentioned anything about them.
It is so beautiful! We had a filmer and photographer biking with us the whole trip, info about that can be found at the description and at the end of the film :)
Hey, actually this adventure is in Khevi (Juta part), Khevsureti (Roshka-Datvisjvari pass-Shatili-till Abano pass) and last one - Tusheti. Nice movie! 🎉
did you miss the local culture and people? for example the warm bath place at Abano pass? The super-friendly and inviting people from the beautiful villages of Dartlo and lower Omalo?
Ah a warm bath? That one we missed but luckily not the super-friendly people, met so many lovely locals in every town we stopped by or stayed over. Meeting all of them, hearing their stories and enjoying the delicious georgian food was definitely one of the highlights of the trip 🫶🏼
@@hennapalosaari_ sorry... I am saying that I miss all that in the film. locals, their places, their culture, that would be then real storytelling, including them. less self centred, narration could be done on top of additional images.
Ah I see, thanks for the feedback 🙏🏼 this was done with a different approach but that would be nice approach for future projects to try to include more of that in them as well!
@@hennapalosaari_ please don't be offended, but that approach is so mainstream and 95% of these videos are the same. suffer talking, why we ride our bikes, and how beautiful it is. yes it is beautiful, very! but the rest is so repetitive.
@@eivissastefnot sure what were your expectations regarding people and culture. What we have here is a couple of foreigners, who obviously do not know the language, following a rather touristy trail. You shouldn't expect some deep cultural dive in this kind of a movie, it was not the goal - the goal was to show the trail and personal struggle. Personally, I am fine with it - there are very few bikepacking movies about this route, only "Trail to Kazbegi" comes to my midn right now.
Maybye too much Scott product placement, I would like to see more action instead a statements, but it is a fantastic and beautiful story. Very inspiring. Thank a lot.

that’s a good thing to keep in mind wherever travelling by bike but they do a lot of horseback riding on these trails as well so I think biking won’t do additional harm to the trails :)
That would for sure help! But I’m still happy that being new to mountain biking and thus having still very limited skills didn’t stop me from doing this trip :)
Bummer that this video doesn't actually show any biking, traveling, or adventuring. Bikepacking in Georgia, where the locals believe "a guest is a gift from god" and the food is the best in the world, not even one shot of khinkali, Khachapuri, or even the famous wine. I'm really supposed to believe that the truck pulled over to offer a ride, just as the film crew happened to be set up there? Just pretty but staged shots with a professional support crew, not to tell a story better, but for advertising purposes. Shame.
yes you are right in a lot of ways. we had an timewindow of 9 days in total for the trip, and used 6 on the bike, aswell as 2 to get on and off the route. i would have loved to spend more time there to dive deeper into the culture and the prople. but in the end we simply did not have enough time to capture more than the stuff we've shown in the video. and the truck was honestly not staged and neither was there a "filmcrew". just two guys with heavy backpacks und regular bikes.. but i think it's always easier to judge from the outside ;)
As you said in Georgia locals believe ”a guest is a gift from god” and this is exactly what we got to experience with the truck stopping when we waved and offering us a ride, Georgians must be some of the friendliest people we’ve had pleasure to meet 🙌🏼 Sorry to hear that you got this impression from the film that was put together by our 4 person team consisting of two riders, one photographer and one filmer who all carried all their gear the whole way, except when the friendly Georgians offered us a ride 🙂 and I can promise that we consumed plentiful khinkalis and khachapuris!

I'm glad Tusheti leaves the guests so impressed and happy 🎉
Greetings from georgia.

Packing our bike bags as we speak - Georgia looks absolutely stunning! Bonus points for all the doggos featured. 😎 Another great story, Henna!

I had one from restrap and Sabine had one from syncros :)
Where's your water, girls? :) Bikes on the back - funny thing. :) Comedy hitchhiking. :)
There was plentiful rivers along the way so we only needed to carry a bottle or two of water at times :)

Good color for making the text visible 🙃
