Thank for having us! I was there this year, but had a really bad time. Felt absolutely lonely and foreign to everything... still feels unreal, may I have to come back :)
great editing and familiar routes. I'm an Aussie who has been in Utah for many years and have biked some of those sections. Great to see it from someone else's perspective.
What an epic bikepacking adventure across Utah! Covering 800 miles from Salt Lake City to Moab sounds incredible, especially with those well-known routes like the Trans Rockies Connector, Bears Ears Loop, and Grand Staircase. The variety of landscapes Utah offers, from rugged mountains to dramatic plateaus, must have made this an unforgettable journey. Perfect way to experience the raw beauty of Utah over 3 weeks! 🚴🌄 Really awesome video!
Nice. I love that area. I road on motorcycles with my buddy on the burr trail switchbacks, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and Canyonlands. Would love to do it on a bike. Surprised you didn't hit more sand. Thanks for posting.
Have crisscrossed most of that area of Utah, but always wanted to take a train from near my home in Carbondale to SLC, and bike south for the first part of the route you two did. Sorry if I missed it, but do you have a GPS track to say, the Fish Lake area? The Prospector Inn is the place to stay in Escalante… across the road from a great brewery (2019, 2022).
Another fantastic one Mick! I’m always impressed by your ability to get creative shots and not repeat the same ones over and over again. You’ve also done a great job of mixing the voiceover against the music and SFX. Would love to hear any tips if you have them!
Thanks heaps. I had the thought in the last few days about making a film on how I make my films. I think as wondering if there would be any interest. I’ll try and do one over the next couple of months. Thanks for watching.
Much respect, and thanks for a great video. I'm an old fart and rode Telluride to Moab, and half of the Great Divide. Pushing uphill and then walking downhill over rocky and rutted is definitely "Type Two Fun". Q: Have you ever tried drop bars like the Salsa Cowchipper? The older I get (71), the shorter distance I can ride with flat bars (even Jones -H), I've switched to Cowchipper drop bars which creates a trade-off of better comfort for distance, but scarier downhills on loose steep stuff. A bit more downhill walking vs comfort on open spaces. Happy trails!☮
Wow, amazing! I live below skyline drive and would love to ride it on my bike but not sure how carry enough water, or even how much I’d have to bring. The entire route was beautiful! I wish I could do that! How do yo carry that large water cube your bike full??
Water on that section wasn't that bad. We carry about 3.5-4lt in bottles, then use a 6lt water bladder (we use Sea to Summit ones and like them). Then it's a bit of repacking to find the space. Hope you get up there to ride it - it's an awesome place.
Another superb film Mick and Danielle. Thank you. Magnificent landscapes and geography. That part of the USA is wonderful. What a pity about the other part, those so called MAGA homo sapiens. Anyway cheers, thank you once again, regards and best wishes from our corner of the woods.
What a fantastic journey to stumble on, thank you for sharing.
Cheers.

Love this type of routes! Thanks for showing us your adventures. Cheers from Norway 🇳🇴

I love it when you say: "water". It reminds me of my travels in Australia, when I was young.
Thank you for your excellent bike packing video. Keep riding and keep the videos coming.
Great video Mick and Danielle! Awesome footage and fine storytelling! Thanks for sharing the adventure!
The tent peg Brake Lever, Legend!
Ha! Thanks.

We did have a beer or two there. The route is in the description. Cheers.
Great film Mick, really enjoyed it all. I wish I was on the trip with you guys.
Cheers. Appreciate it. Perhaps one day!
Nice video, thanks for sharing
Beautiful video and some very nice camp sites, amazing how far you can ride on just Pringles!
Ha! Pringles are essential.

Excellent video as usual!
Awesome video! This has me inspired to try this kind of remote bikepacking
Thanks.
What an awesome trip! Do you have a video that goes over your bike set up?
Coming soon! Thanks for watching.
Amazing trip, here from Facebook bikepacking group

Thanks Mike. I haven't used drop bars on the Surly....yet! Currently, I find the Jones bars really comfortable. Glad you enjoyed. Happy trails!
Project for Bike Packers: Do a show and tell of all the Beautiful Bike Packing Touring Routes, how long, and what to expect when doing so.
Good idea. I’ll add it to the list for the future.
6:27 The world is upside down right now. I have never seen anyone eat a pringle like that before.
Ha. All for dramatic effect I’m sure. Thanks for watching.

That looked every inch the epic ride it must have been👍 don't suppose it's very doable on a gravelbike?
Some sections you could (Skyline drive), but it would be ‘fun’ on a gravel bike to ride the Grand Staircase Loop and Peaks and Plateaus Loop!
@MickTurnbullFilms one for the very long bucket list then😄
So beautiful. Why no other rider on the router ?
Thanks. We only met a few others riding, not sure why.
👍

Great Point.
Midweek versus weekend.
its Night & Day.
Drunk yahoos in ATV’s all over the place.
Even more glad to hear that. Thanks for watching.
Must have been bitching hot😊
A few days were. Most were OK.
Great vid & scenary. 250cc motorcycles might have been a bit more fun? I know that defeats your purpose...just saying.
Ha! Probably more fun, but we enjoy the pace and challenge of doing it on bicycles. Thanks for watching.
Lovely video but the girl's fake croaky voice is annoying. seems to be in fashion to talk like that but very irritating to listen to.
No worries, and comments like this are irritating too. Perhaps just use closed captions next time. Thanks for watching.
