Because that is the way they(foreigners) see India or want to see India. Cows on the streets, poverty, chaos, slums, etc. That is their idea of India. The old idea of 'budget travel' has been obscured and is practically vanishing most everywhere. We are very happy you still venture out - it is most inspiring, making connections on the go as you do, but the absence of inexpensive hostels and guesthouses is telling. Its funny that the old delhi is barely 0.5% of delhi ncr. The other side which you are showing in this video is rest 99.5% of delhi ncr. Irony is that most back packers stay in the 0.5% poorer part of delhi.
Yes, this fellow is a budget backpacker.
Because that is the way they(foreigners) see India or want to see India. Cows on the streets, poverty, chaos, slums, etc. That is their idea of India. For Indians when we think of America, we think of skyscrapers, times square so when an Indian tourist goes to the US, he wants to see that.
Tbh I don't understand why Indians get upset about it, they want to see what is different from their cities and towns. You see Gabriel isn't fully enjoying this part of Delhi. There are parts of Delhi-NCR that are far nicer than this but those things exist in his country too. So, let them enjoy the chaos which we have in plenty in India.

What is a dollar or 2 dollars? Yes, they over charge you. I don't sweat the price if we're talking 1 or 2 dollars more.
Tough to visit planes of India in summer. Welcome to India.
Hey Gabe Palika Bazar in connaught place is not a Metro station , it is a underground market .
The old idea of 'budget travel' has been obscured and is practically vanishing most everywhere. We are very happy you still venture out - it is most inspiring, making connections on the go as you do, but the absence of inexpensive hostels and guesthouses is telling. We understand that the modern calculus is $30-40 hostels and $75-150 hotels. People also budget for them, but it's no longer 'budget travel'. 🙏.
This is the reality now and it’s sucks to accept this. Inflation is real and wages aren’t keeping up with it.
If you have the patience to walk around , you still can find a lot more cheaper places. Gabriel booked it online.
@@gogadev Agreed...btw one definition of patience is 'suffering'
@@pleasantjourneys But most travellers are great walkers and explorers too. Finders, seekers, keepers.
@@gogadev Thanks for the positive reminder
Gabriel is doing well but he has only just begun to explore India. Such a complex and diverse country, not possible even in a lifetime.
I Just love Everything Gabriel Traveler! Wish to meet you in person
With love,

Great to see you back in India! :)
Always love this place at the center of Delhi :) Cannot get enough of it…haha.
Recently found this deep dive kinda RUclips series about Connaught Place called “Walk with me Connaught Place”.
Welcome Sir , Back 2 India , Delhi . #Real traveller
I have to say, this whole recounting of past trips while just walking around is as boring as watching paint dry. It's why you aren't getting a lot of views and especially doing this every day.
I’m loving Gabe’s videos so much he shows sometimes just pointing his camera no comments necessary. Especially love his stories as he wanders about. Appreciate that he doesn’t hog public places vlogging and keeps his video private with whispering not to hijack others experiences. I love Gabe’s channel to places I’ve never been and now in India 🇮🇳 my favorite home , keep up your excellent work Gabe , dhanyavad OM 🙏🏽
Welcome to India
Hope you will have great experience 👍
i am glad you added that weird indian music no indian has ever heard of in the start of your intro. A video about India never completes without it.
Mughals were from central Asia, not the middle east.
To all the foreigners:
Avoid Pahar Ganj in Old Delhi otherwise you are 90% likely to get scammed and will only carry bad memories of India.
Hey Gabe another great video i have been to all these places in Delhi you walked passed the Blues bar where i spent New years 2005
LOL 🤠🤪🤭👍🏽 Wow! First time for me seeing you ride in an "Auto-Tuk-kuk-Mr. Rick Shaw" in all these years of you traveling, Gabe.
Loving the indian adventures
You should come to Jaipur in Rajasthan for some incredible food and culture.

very nice Gabriel you were showing all shades of India.. Keep it up brother..
One of the best vlogs about Delhi...
You chose to travel Delhi during the time when it is the hottest lol
That’s brave dude
The number of stories you have is simply incredible.. even more incredible is how much detail you remember from them. I loved when you used to make “travel tales” videos.
Hi Gabe, I remember the big Sunday Examiner with the travel section. They had cheap consolidator tickets worldwide. I did a courier flight in the early 1990's from San Francisco to Bangkok for $350.
Come to Assam
I was planning to head to the northeast, Darjeeling, Sikkim, etc., but I see the weather is all rain and thunderstorms. I'd like to see the Himalayas without clouds. How is the weather where you are?
@@GabrielTravelerVideos go to himachal pradesh or uttrakhand wheather is good there you can hike mountains
I’m still watching your videos brother. Awesome
Hey James, right on, thanks for hanging in there. ✌
