these were really expensive when they came out, i think like $599 or something, and then they all of a sudden dropped in price to like $150 so I grabbed one at guitar center way back in like 2000. It was okay, i think it has some issues when you use momentary switch it can add a loud POP into the sound, which isn't desirable. Also the resonance on the filter really squeals into self oscillation, and when you play with the frequency knob you can hear a lot of stairstepping, and the LFO's don't go into audio range, the high speed is also stairstepped at the very high range, its kind of jarring, not very musical or useful i was very dissapointed with the unit overall, a better alternative for the time was the sherman filterbank, which was like $799 at the time. I quickly grew out of this stuff and got more into older vintage synths that were more smooth with no midi or any weird stairstepping artifacts, allthough many analog synths started developing that problem with the juno 106 and other simlar synths that had patch memory. But since the filter factory didn't have patch memory, its a shame the filter was midi controlled, it could have sounded much better if it were truly analog. Allthough if you use the CV inputs in the back you can assign a knob in your modular to control the filter and its much more useable and musical that way!
