bought one like three years back for ~$100 to mimic the vocal style of tobacco/black moth super rainbow, didn't know i was saving myself thousands on even dreaming of getting a digitech talker at the same time lol. great video!

Any tips on how to set it up to mimic tobacco?
I have been trying to run the synth through and relying on that signal completely with the formant turned off.
      Is that what you do?
Also, does it matter if I plug into it mono instead of stereo?

Thank you I have one I bought a few years back I think it's time to pull it out and dust it off I hope you continue to make more videos on the warp factory vocoder.

Thanks for the info! now my main burning question is if theres a vst vocoder plugin that can get close to a digitech talker

The only plugin solution I've seen come close is Izotope Vocal Synth's Biovox Module. It seems to use the same Vocal Tract modeling tech used in the Talker, but sounds slightly "Blockier" if that makes any sense? Like its damn close but slightly off.
Still worth looking into though especially since its Zero latency! Unlike the Talker and Warp Factory which do introduce around 30-40ms of latency! Thats the one thing I don't see many people talk about. It definitely trips me up sometimes when playing fast midi lines on my keyboard.

Thanks a lot for all yours videos! I think i will buy an Electrix Warp Factory who is really cheap compared to the talker, thanks to you! Have you tried the Electro Harmonix v256? Did you find a vst who could compete with the digitech talker or the seinheiser? I have eard your others demos but the vsts seems to be less professionnel sounding? Shame you don't have Instagram.

MDA Talkbox is a free, open source vocoder VST that uses similar technology, called Linear Predictive Coding. I haven't played around with it too much, but it sounds very similar to the broad character of the Digitech Talker. No formant control onboard, so you will need to use a pitch shifter with separate control over formants on its output (doing it on the input can kinda screw with it, but mileage may vary -- experiment! ) . . . It has no GUI and it uses Left Right signals for the carrier and modulator, so it's a bit archaic by today's standards. And on my copy, it wants very low level synth (carrier) signals. If you use it, and it just sounds like it's gating the synth sound, turn it way, way, way, way down. I promise eventually you'll get it in a range it likes and you can actually hear the vocoding working. (Or maybe my copy is bugged. That wouldn't surprise me, as I compiled it myself xD ) . . . Ah, and it doesn't have the unvoiced noise generator. you will have to rig this up yourself. It's not too difficult if your DAW has a semi-modular patching/routing workflow available to you.
