The 392 is dang near if not a 500hp engine (way underrated). Way to go Dodge with this model, it will be a big seller!

On the dash computer screen where you can watch the horsepower, my Scat 392 has read 527hp when I let it go from a 25mph roll. I wonder how accurate these on board computers are?

He runs 9.92 consistently. On a 44 degree day in may he ran a 9.89.
Ps- he would run 10.1-10-4 when he first ran it!!!
He keeps getting time behind the wheel and making better and better runs.

Was in the Jeep lot and saw one which stops you in your tracks. You immediately see the 275 tires and nice wheels. Then you see the 1320 badge which is really cool.
I look inside to the interior and see no rear seat just Driver and Passenger seats. Seats Suede steering wheel. It drew me back over and over. It was so obviously special and different. Not to mention affordable.
The two I saw were in White and Black. An awesome car!!!

Fastest I’ve seen the stock 1320 go is 11.37 @120. He had the full interior delete package from the factory and a set of skinnies on stock drag radials. Look up slicks for hope for the video.

A mustang buddy of mine who buys/sells cobras specifically had bought a yellow 01 Cobra(or a 99 can't remember off hand) that had Ford racing cams, header back catless exh, gears, king Cobra clutch kit, tb, drag radials, and tuned and ran just a best of 13.2 qtr on a cool fall night at sea level.
Mustangs didn't get fast(non SC cobras) until after 2012. Ford was always the slow pony until recently and guys would put LS motors in their Mustangs if they weren't putting SC cobra motors in them.
I love challengers .but I'm not sold on this new hyper scat pack..how fast do u need to be between a regular rt and a hellcat?
I have one and it is fast. I paid 52000 but its fully loaded except for the sunroof. And I had this car for 6 months and I never see another one at all . Am so glad I have it
I’m wondering because it only has 2 modes, drag and normal, what is normal like, is it aggressive, because I’m sure you don’t drive around in drag mode, and will it launch with the trans brake on the street or only on the track ? Also does the exhaust sound change .?
@@johnh.9127 I like to drive in normal mode but there are 5 different settings for mode . You can put some on normal and some on super track mode and some on drag . I leave 3 on normal and the last 2 on super track. Plenty of power. Drag is crazy. Only use that when you're going off the line. And I have 315 40 20 tires on the back and the 275 45 20 in the front so I have plenty of rubber. It a lot of fun . The sound dose change. But you really notice it when you are driving fast . You hear the difference.

You all should be happy, no one except owners and really knowledgeable Challenger people will be able to tell the differences so HC owners will be able to catch people by surprise if the debadge. I'm a fan of debaging top tier performance cars that look similar to lesser versions. Catching people by surprise when a debadeged HC crushes another quick car thinking it's just a Scat Pack car is funny to me. The butthurt loser would be pissed as he likely wouldn't even have run a car knowing it had an extra 250 HP.
Let's just hope the posers don't slap HC badges on their identical SP cars trying to be what they aren't. I see this is already pretty common with the younger guys now putting HC badges on their 3.6L and 5.7L Challengers. So unless looking straight on at front of car, only the the front bumper lower portion/IC opening gives it away easily. But that is just a ricer thing to do to a 3.6L or 5.7L. You CAN rice out a Challenger and putting HC badges on a NON HELLCAT IS RICE!!

A challenger is still considered a muscle car due to its size, Camaros & mustangs are modern day sports cars , why even have a backseat in those cars . Your better of with a vette if your driving a stang or Camaro.

No super charger, just go to a even 500. It's nice but it's getting ridiculous, to many packages. I was pricing out a charger the other day and my head was spinning. No love for the charger btw, I'm looking for a nice high hp saloon. This just makes me look at euro options . 4 doors need love to bro

I would get a low mileage Hellcat before those but I believe the two cars are different trim levels. Time will tell.

IDK man. With a lot less HP and TQ than say a hellcat, and the new Demon borrowed suspension and trans brake with drag radials, I think on a well prepped track using all the factory electronic aids the 1320 Challenger will be consistent at those times. All about seat time and track prep really. The electronics and suspension package will do the rest. Just gotta find the right launch rpm and traction control level. Everyone tries at first turning off TC and launch control but after spinning the tires and running low 13's they realize the importance of letting the ecu and traction control figure it all out. Then it's just ....heat up tires, push a couple buttons, raise RPMs and GO!

Stock will be kneck and kneck against a new 5.0 10 speed with magneride suspension option and also only with the Performance Pack 1 option. That's also a $45k ride with those options just like the 1320. But without those exact factory options I mentioned, to get the 10spd auto, drag setting on magneride suspension, and the higher gear ratio (3.73's on the PP1 kit), the new 5.0 will NOT run 11's stock.
The 1320 is already optioned with the go fast parts. Unless you order a 5.0 specially from a dealer you will find it difficult and near impossible to get those special options all together without other BS options you don't want raising price to over $50k. I searched 4 states online and found 1 - 5.0 with those specific options only and it was a color I wouldn't myself buy. All other 10spd 5.0's had tons of options totaling over $50k, or didn't have magneride suspension option but cost around $43-$45k.
Dodge has built exactly what they claim. A drag pack special for the bracket racers to run repeatable hot lap 11.7 qtr runs off the showroom floor just by lowering rear tire psi and setting the launch control and traction control settings according to the track conditions at hand.
Add a 150 shot wet kit, nothing else, and drop down to 11.2-11.35 runs.
Right now no one has cracked the 2018+ Dodge ECU codes far as I know. Only 2017 and older. Dodge added extra security to make it harder to rewrite/edit the new ECUs. Hopefully DiabloSport gets it figured out soon as you can't just swap ECUs out of the 1320 with say a 2017 TA 392 or a R/T 392 Shaker car. The brand new tech in the 1320 cars like torque reserve, line lock, trans brake etc all mean the 1320's ECU is unique to that car unlike regular SP and 392 cars which are identical tech/hardware wise. So everyone start mentioning DiabloSport in every article and video about the new 1320 so DiabloSport gets a 1320 car in house and cracks the ECU so future owners like me can get car tuned for mods and not be stuck with just wet nitrous kits to make power. Lol.

Here's the kicker though, it is stripped with on,ymthe drivers seat like the Demon and drag tires, to run these numbers. It will not do this on regular street tires Oem and full interior. The full interior will be a $1 option as it was on Demon. So expect 12.1 at 113 on full interior. So no, it will not be the quickest or fastest. Unless you want to strip your 5.0 to one seat and no power pump in trunk, 5-6 gallons of high test gas and sticky tires. I bet the Mustang in the same configuration runs 11.5's at 118.
everyone wants to criticize Chrysler for creating these new versions of chargers and challengers. thought one is if you don't like them don't buy them. yet what everyone misses is we live in an awesome time for car guys and gals. no matter if your a Chrysler, ford, Chevy fan. remember the 80s and 90s when 300hp and 0-60 in 6-6.5 seconds and 13.5 -14 quarter miles times were a big thing. now we have 4 and 6 cylinder engines that will do both. everyone should just be happy that the big three are offering 400-900hp factory built , factory warranty cars. now 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and 13 flat or under quarter mile times or under is no big deal. plus unlike the 80s and 90s you have a choice - you can buy a real challenger, camaro, or mustang.
Wish ford would slap drag radials on the new mustangs because they are running high 11s as well with nothing but drag radials at 115+. Would put it right with this car

Zander13 yeah I've got a 2017 mustang, and although I love it and got a really good deal on it because it was an end of the year rebate, I believe I would have waited had I known there would be that much of a difference in performance. I know they are only suppose to be 25hp and 20lb ft of torque more, but the 18s run some crazy times. Truth be told I probably should have just hung on to my 03 cobra longer. It only had around 24,000 original miles on it. I needed something with a warranty though and got an incredible deal on my 2017 fully loaded, so I'm not complaining
your 17 is still a great car. from what i have seen on the dyno. a 17 next to an 18 with same mods on both cars is about a 20-30hp difference. so yes the 18 is faster by a little but the 17 can still be very fast. now 17 auto, for example, next to and 18 auto. Massive difference.
Do they mean fastest scat n/a or period because z51 stingrays run 11.5-11.6 bone stock with a tire and c6 zo6 run 10.8 -11.2 bone stock with a tire. Hell the 2018 5.0 runs 11.8-11.9 bone stock and all cars are n/a and already out ????

Raced quite a few Scat Packs, have never seen one go faster than a 12.3, this is at GLD. I have enjoyed beating them however, for the fastest N/A cars out there my bone stock 2018 A10 has gone 12.0 and a few other 18's have gone 11.8 bone stock, the Scat Pack is a cool car though, but definitely not the fastest N/A car out there.

It was stated from Dodge at revealing "only in automatic" and aside from 8.4 uconnect and climate control all else is options/packages if you want more. It's a basic package without any stuff to keep price at $45,000 MSRP. If you want lots of goodies included stock you have to choose either the TA 392(which is a great package and discreet if you check the boxes for "delete side stripes and TA markings" and get it with just the black wrapped hood). Owners of TA's say under the wrapped flat black hood is a nice factory body colored painted hood. So just peel off the wrap on hood. TA has nice additions like active exhaust, 6 piston front/4 piston rear brakes, adjustable suspension via in car like the SRT Challenger, bigger sway bars and springs rates, air brabber fog lights and optional hood pins for old original TA look, etc. Great car for the $ and likely one future collectible. Available in auto OR 6 spd stick too.
Or, go all leather and comfy SRT model with all the luxury driver options as standard. Hopefully, the 1320 model has no dealer mark-ups as it will not be a high volume seller and likely require special ordering (anyone remember the 04/05 Evo RS model? Likely not as it was special order only and most were made by grassroots racing teams and drivers).
I plan on having to walk in a local dealer and order my 2019 1320 Challenger to get it. Especially how I want.......

Dude, not sure what you’re saying, I drove my 12 year old 2006 z06 to 11.2 @ 124mph when it was bone stock. And that was not with all these new fancy suspensions and automatic transmissions. Don’t see how this is a win.

Gary Strickland:The Trackhawk wasn't designed for the drag strip like this car. The Trackhawk is just a nice souped up SUV. More horsepower doesn't mean anything when you have a car that was specially designed to do one thing. The suspension and the "Drag Mode feature (along with that bad ass 392 engine) allow this car to get that 3.8 seconds and 11.7 quarter mile times.

Still the best quarter mile car for the money will be the A10 mustang. The new scat comes with drags. So apples to apples you put a drag radial on the mustang it's doing mid to upper 11's stock as well and comfortably equipped for well under the scats price.

I'm starting to get sick of all Dodge's fastest ever claims. Honestly they are getting a little ridiculous. The Challenger scat pak can't hold a candle to the C6 zO6. They had a 7 litre engine with 505hp n/a and only weighed 3300lbs. Dodge puts drag radials from the factory, that's how they get better times. The C6 zo6 ran mid to low 11s on drag radials. The L88 vette's 45 years ago ran faster than 11.7 with drag radials. Aren't they taking enough heat with no one running close to 9.65 with the Demon yet?
