Best so far Yorkshire.
cheers pal
looks great!
Thanks
Thanks for the great video 👍
I'm from Brazil and just bougjt this kit. It will arrive next week. I was looking for a video like yours. Really great job! Thanks for sharing.
thanks
hope you enjoy it as much as i did
I saw a video which showed ICM had released a special paint set fot this kit and which includes off-white.
I ordered it but it wasn't release till after the model so I didn't get it
Ended up canceling the paint order once I had built the kit
I would recommend getting the set though as it's supposed to be good
Very nice 👏👏
Thanks
So what you tell me is "get a display stand"?
you dont need a display stand but they do help
@@yorkshiremanmodels Currently building her right now and display stand is planned. Little tricky to close the gear doors but it should be good enough.
@@JonathanLundkvist nice one
Hiya i think the paint job looks good like it's seen plenty of action and as for the unintentional realistic engine sounds at the end fantastic 😂 all the best from over the Pennines mate.
cheers for the comments i was worried the paint has ruined it
may not get the engine sounds for much longer because i live near doncaster airport and it may close which will be a shame
That sir turned out absolutely perfect, you have my total admiration for doing the 'digital' decals, they turn out perfect also, you now have yourself another subscriber, what's next on the bench? very best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
Thanks for the compliment
Not sure what to build next but I have a raf tornado in 1/48 scale needs doing because my daughter bought me it for father's Day
Excellent video and build of this fantastic model kit, I've also bought this ICM Model kit but I haven't gotten around to building it as of yet. I'm actually trying to get some upgrade resin parts eg. the Cockpit, Instrument panel, Jet nozzles etc plus some Brass / Thin Metal Photoetch so if you know where I can get any please let me know. Regards Professor Mark Woods
i havent used any upgrade kits for icm mig 29 but i have had a quick search online and there is a resin engine upgrade kit from ammo mig
also a ACE pe set is available
both are in my view expensive and are only available out of uk to what i can find
they are for the icm mig 29 and i am sure the ghost of kiev kit is a reboxed mig 29 with new decals
the engine kit looks great but it will probably all disapear once fitted
I picked up the ghost of kviv but haven't started yet
took me a couple weeks to complete but i have been busy at work
Really many compliments, a beautiful model.
What colors did you use?
i didnt have the colours icm recomend so had to make them out of my own paint stash
some where mixed from tamiya while others where valleyo
you can now buy a set of colors from icm thats just for this kit
How long did it take you to build this? Looks fantastic and the video quality it’s far more better on yt than TikTok! This bings me motivation to knock out my kit. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
took around 2 evenings to build and about 3 evenings to paint and decal ect
my biggest problem was with i have a normal job so couldnt put the time into it i wanted so had to spread it over a few days
and thanks for the comments and its good to see people from tiktok come here to see the builds i do
Great paint job✌️
wish i had never added the yellow but otherwise i am happy with it
how see through are the decals? I'm thinking of painting the main base colour in a darker grey instead of the off-white recommended by the kit, any ideas if the decals would blend in?
The clear section of the decals is perfect and disappear completely
I would say the colour parts of the decals are not see through at all
@@yorkshiremanmodels thanks for replying!
Did you use any kind of varnish after painting/applying decals? Excellent build btw, Ive just started mine!
i used a gloss varnish once i had painted the model
i then applied the decals and applied gloss over the decals
i applied pin wash then used a flat varnish over the model
i then weathered the model before i applied a flat varnish over the model once it was completed to protect it all
i thinned all my varnishes atleast 70% varnish to 30% thinner and the varnish would have been tamiya varnishes
hope that helps
@@yorkshiremanmodels nice one, thank you very much!👍🏻
👍
Un bonjour de Paris !!! bravo pour ce montage très agréable à suivre (dommage je ne parle pas Anglais mais les images parlent d elles même !!! a bientôt sur votre chaîne Salutations Alain.
thank you for the kind words
hope to have more videos up soon
Hi mate, must say that Icm mig-29 is not new by any means,it is around for quite some time and it is based on Italeri kit which differs here and there, mostly the spine which represents 9.13 version.Thats it.Reboxed kit with new decals.
Yes I know
Seems to be the way of most manufacturers to bring out so called new kits by reboxing and new decals
The new decals are excellent and more than make up for the kit not being the best
It's worth the £20 though in my view and was fun to do the digital camo
@@yorkshiremanmodels fun is most important!🤘🏻
Like!
thanks
Great paintjob. I buy it one too. Thanks for inspiration.👍
your welcome
Nice job on the kit, inspired me to build some Russian built jets, other than the old cold war Migs. I think though, that during the introduction, you should have made it clear that the "Ghost of Kyiv" is a construct of Ukrainian propaganda, using footage from the DCM game.
just done a mig21 in german colours and that was a nice change from the ww2 and more modern stuff
@@yorkshiremanmodels yeah...i have a couple of Russian jets in my stash, including an Eduard M21...have not had time to start them yet
Great kit?!? The fit is awful. Every slot had to be enlarged for tabs to fit, same for locating holes. Shims were necessary for the wings and vertical stabilizers to avoid big gaps. Putty was also necessary for gaps and misalignment between the upper and lower fuselage. The decals were quite good but care must be taken so they don't fold over on themselves. Not bad when done but I expected better. Must be an old kit.
yes the kit is a old icm mig29
with new decals to make it "the ghost of kiev"
i agree the fitting and locating holes are not good and neither is the filler needed but in all honesty i am doing a revell kit at the moment and the fitting of that makes the mig29 seem a breeze
its the decals i think make it a great kit due to the digital camo but everyone has different views
it is a shame though icm didnt do atleast a good retool of it but as with most manufacuters these days its about getting the kits out and ignore the quality
