As someone who was looking towards the original Lego the Movie back in primary school, and actually expected Lego the Movie 2 to fail, I feel attacked.
1. This movie is a masterpiece. It captured what Lego means to people, its hillarious, heartfelt , self-aware and just plain fun. 2.The dad realising that his son based the main villain of his story on him *still* hits hard. 3. You *HAVE TO* watch The Lego Batman movie. Its unironically one of the best Batman movies ever, on top of being insanely funny.
I never watched the first Lego movie so the Lego Batman movie was a huge surprise for me with its sheer quality, as both a film and a Batman adaptation.
I watched this movie without audio with my brother on an airplane once, and it ended up being funnier making up what they were saying rather than actually listening to the dialogue
Literally my childhood. My brother would get bored of cartoons and he'd turn the volume off, so we just made up the dialogue ourselves and laughed out asses off
The ending if this movie is extremely heartfelt, and even to this day I haven't found anything that has come close to it in terms of pure wholesomeness. Lego movie is incredible.
The animation of _The LEGO Movie_ is consisted with CGI that tricks everyone into thinking it's stop-motion, which is no wonder how unique it looks. The movie is more than just a product, if LEGO can build everything, so does the hearts of many.
didn't they calculated how many pieces of lego it would take to recreate the entire movie? and the number was bigger than all the lego pieces that have been ever made?
its not great and not nearly as good as the first one, for some reason the ninjago movie (movie btw, not the show, i have a VERY different opinion about that lol) and lego movie 2 both fail badly
I first watched the Lego movie when I was seven. It honestly was way ahead of its time. The animation was something we had never seen before. And I loved how basically everything in the movie is a Lego. Even the water. This movie really changed my life as a young 7 year old Lego enjoyer
I legitimately wondered how much of this movie was stop motion and how much was CGI on my first watch due to them even replicating the little imperfections like the seam on the plastic of Emmet's hair or the little scratches on certain pieces. Its an impressive attention to detail.
Pretty much the whole thing is stop motion (except the faces). It was in a behind the scenes of the movie - truly fascinating stuff. I’m sure you can find it somewhere.
@@shadamyandsonamylover No it wasn't. The majority of the film was CGI because it would have taken way too many lego pieces to do it all in stop motion.
Let’s be honest, for a lot of us this was our first exposure to Chris Pratt, and he absolutely owned this role. With his track record nobody should’ve doubted him for the Mario Movie.
Watching this film, it's kinda weird seeing Chris Pratt's performance here not feel phoned in for once. That's not usually the vibe you get from his movies. Putting that aside, he did good here.
To be fair, though, his casting here WORKS because Emmett is, as StM said, a generic guy. Mario, while Nintendo *wants* him to be generic and I think they tried to write the movie with that in mind, has become too iconic for him to be generic.
