It actually aged incredibly well. Disney has actually been wanting to make an animated movie about video games since the eighties, but the technology wasn't up to what they wanted until more recently.
That's because he was already a villain as king candy. The twist just acted as his back story to bridge the connection. so, the plot did not rely on the twist for it to be a surprise. unlike the villains in frozen and (Despite this being one of my favorite Disney films) Big hero six.
This movie definitely aged well, it’s still a good movie with great moments, great characters, great action and had a great story. If you want a movie that actually did age poorly, then look at Ralph breaks the Internet.

I love this movie, but the fundamental principle that characters shouldn’t jump games was completely ignored in the sequel when Venelope abandoned hers.

That could be compared to disability, gender, sexuality, race, etc. Being a "villain" in his world isn't actually a bad thing, he's the main character and without him, the game wouldn't function. Everyone in Fix-It Felix would be negatively affected. It's about people's perception of him because of things he can't change. His quote is that people will always view him as bad because of his role in the game, but he knows who he actually is and accepts himself. Which he originally had a lot of self hatred about. That is actually a very common experience for 2nd/3rd generation immigrants in other countries. They hate themselves and their culture because other people hate them for it. It's not actually bad, and hopefully they'll be able to love themselves and everything that includes.

Like I'm seeing with a lot of folks here, I agree that this movie aged pretty well. One of the first pretty good video game films we had gotten back in the day out of a swamp of misfires. The SECOND film aged like milk, even back when it first came out. You would think Hollywood would learn by now that if you make something where the story and humor revolves around internet culture that was relevant at the time, you immediately carbon-date it and the film's shelf life is almost immediately diminished. The web is constantly changing and evolving, even when in pre-production and writing the script, something you put in that was funny then becomes outdated and loses its luster by the next week. Tangent aside, all that to say first movie good, second movie bad.
This title should be reserved for the sequel. And I don’t even despise it as much as most people, but even with the Disney fan service (which I liked) and the amazing post credit scene 😂, it’s definitely strange in terms of the developed character for Ralph.

"Wreck-It Ralph" may not be one of Disney's best CG animated films, But it's one that I personally enjoy! Especially because of how relatable Ralph is as a character, Because after all there are lots of people in the world who sadly know what it's like to be all alone and treated like outcasts.
I find Venelopee more relatable. Not only because classmates teased me and didn't want to go near me when I was diagnosed with epilepsy, but the teachers were scared of of my seizures and kicked me out of their classes so I wouldn't cause problems.

The disability representation is actually really good in this movie. When Felix asks if Calhoun is always that harsh one of the Heroes Duty characters says its not her fault and explains her backstory. And they try to avoid saying things like 'fixed' or 'broken' when talking about Vanellope's glitch. When sour bill talks about Vanellope he said "if she crosses the finish line, she wont be a glitch anymore." Not that she would be 'fixed'
As others have said, Turbo is a great villain. There were enough clues to put the twist together, AND he was written smart enough to get Ralph and others to do what he wanted. He basically told Ralph to prevent a real risk to the game that was also secretly a threat to Turbo's power.

I don’t know why I keep giving these guys a chance. Like, I get it, you wanna make haha funny criticism and joke about the movie you’re watching. But for god sakes, it’s exhausting. It’s the same problem I have with Razzle. They’ll make a stupid joke and then proceed to beat it into the damn dirt throughout the whole video.

@@chenstormstout9456 i'm not going to disagree with anyone saying they're annoying, talking over plot points and stuff is genuinely aggravating at times, but to be fair i don't think they wanna make "funny criticism", i think it's more like "low-effort commentary" (which i don't mean as a dig!). i just really don't think this is supposed to be criticism, or if it is they've been doing a really bad job of it

I haven't watched the video yet, just saw the title, let me just say, for some reason, Wreck It Ralph is the one film I will never get bored of watching. Typically I don't love rewatching movies, but dude, I just love this movie so much 😭 I've seen it probably over a dozen times, heck maybe 20 idk i don't keep track, this shit is gas and 100% does age well

Can't believe it took me this long to realize our first red flag from King Candy was him knowing the term, "Go Turbo," despite Sugar Rush being a recent addition to the arcade.
