Simply loved Federer's confessions after the match: "He makes you feel uncomfortable the way he defends the court and plays on clay. There is nobody who even plays remotely close to him," said Federer, who hadn't entered the tournament since 2015. "I don't even know who I need to go search for, to go practice with somebody who plays like him. I was thinking that during the match."

I know it is a joke 😂😂😂 but the French dont even appreciate Nadal. If you have watched the first RG that nadal has won here, the public was always cold towards him when he received the trophy and made his winning speech. Another example, look how the public rejoiced when Soderling beat him in 2009.

Very romantic match, and a beautiful and historical one. They played to remeber us the gone times. Rafa won, and with immense merits. Roger played excellent tennis, is game was offensive, full of risks and beautiful shots, constantly on the edge of the error, he tried everything he could, in the only possible way. His efforts ten years ago would be considered frustrating, insufficient, now they are beautiful and romantic. Thanks for this, Roger, for coming to this Roland Garros and flying to the semifinals almost like you are not a 37 and half years old man that still loves playing tennis. Federer risked, risked so much, playing against this Nadal on his favourite tournament. But he accepted the challenge and gave us another epic and beautiful matchup.
Rafa, what can we say? You're the best clay court player ever and today you proved it again, like you did in the last 14 years. Good luck for the final. And thank you, too.

@@rbreze2380 it was romantic in the sense that there was a Federer - Nadal match at Roland Garros, and while I don't think that this wil be the last Fedal, after the last years it seemed impossible that a bo5 on clay would happen again betwenn them, especially in a SEMIFINAL in Paris. No one thinked that Federer could have played at RG again, or that he could arrive almost flawlessly to the semifinals. So, in this sense, this remembered to me and other people the classic matches here between them.
I didn't think before the match that Federer would win this. He needed some kind of miracle that in 99% of the cases wouldn't going to happen. Nadal is too strong here, again in his top form. Too much for everyone, at RG. He was the clear favourite and he won. The oly reason this time the match looked different to some people was because the recent victories Federer had on Nadal in the last years.

Very rare to see great comments like these. You see things deeper than the material aspects. I'm happy to see this post and I agree. To me, it's a pleasure to see these two legends of the game play each other again, regardless of result and style. When they play each other, it is like a dance to salute the crowd and to give back for supporting them and that is very special in itself. And this may be their last dance so I don't take this for granted.

Federer would have never defeated Nadal in a million years, he tried in his prime when Nadal was a fucking kid, he tried when both were at their best and he tried when both are old and the result is the same: he got destroyed, none of their matches at the French even exceeded 4 sets, Nadal was always in firm control, and sometimes he delivered astronomical beat-downs like the 2008 French Final.

Federer played very well, especially considering the constant gusts of wind. The first set was highly competitive; the 6-3 score does NOT do it justice. Federer deserved the standing ovation at the end. On the other hand, Nadal played like a machine. He was literally a brick wall. Simply too good...........What a pleasure it was to watch the GOAT vs. the King of Clay once again. Tennis heaven :)

Federer had been make that uncomfortable face since met 19 y0 nadal at nadal's first french open title at semi. Federer can easily beat the other but when it comes facing nadal , not just me but i think everyone can predict the result already . Nadal simply the monster and at 30 ++ y0 still played like he was in 18 y0. The more pressure the point, the more unbelievable unexpected nadal action on court.

They barely have a few years left in them, so just chill out and cherish each match they play. Nevermind who the GOAT is, but they definitely have the greatest rivalry any sport has seen.
