I'm not a fan of sneakers but wanted something more casual than the shoes I have. I bought a pair of Softinos by Fly London in red. I chose a high top. They look like a cross between a sneaker and a chukka boot. They also have a clean line look about them. I wanted them for a casual vibe as well as a pop of color so they do dictate what I chose to wear.

This is such a cool wardrobe! I love that you created a streewear style one. My sneakers have an influence on my wardrobe in the way that I choose bottoms: mostly skinny or slim jeans/trousers, cropped or cuffed. I find wide and long doesn't really work with sneakers (ok, I'm short, so that generally doesn't work on me :D ). Both of my current sneakers are neutral. But since my wardrobe is also quite neutral, maybe I'll get some colourful ones in the Spring :)

@@wonderwardrobe I actually am a WOW student :) Thanks for recommending it, I just watched it again. My sneakers are mostly quite slim or medium-wide, I guess that's why I go for slimmer bottoms. I know you recommend choosing your outfits first and then choosing shoes to go with everything, but since I'm so picky with my shoes (barefoot/minimal shoes are the only ones that don't hurt me) I find that I have to start out with those.
I love your styling ideas! My sneakers game has been big this year, I choose a standout piece and everything else revolves around it, even my face mask.

In the office: they're a fashion stopper & not match well with finer clothing/slim silhouette outfits!! (too casual) 🤷♀️ Especially chunky sneakers! Hi Daria. I am a WW student. I am glad to see this example. For me the trainers come after the wardrobe style. I just purchased my first pair of Vejas and I am so excited to get them! I will definitely check out the link to the blog. I was looking at an black and white pattern sweater for my capsule but it is a little expensive. The black and white top in this example may be a good replacement. :)

Shoes are the ultimate accessory for me, and sneakers are worth investing in because they are very comfortable. I have one pair for fall/winter, and one lighter pair for spring/summer. I buy stand out (vibrant metallic/wildly patterned) or plain white. Either way they go with everything.

@@wonderwardrobe My taste in sneakers is very eclectic from plain black Converse to sequined but I don’t wear them that often. You capsule wardrobe is the first time I considered them for more than when workout or rehearsals.
So today is the day! 🥰 love it, the truth I tought it would be more sporty but for my surprise it was nice, cozy and casual with vibrant coulors. Thank you. I haven't purchased any sneakers yet so my wardrobe will lead their style 😉

Very cool and unique, Daria! In my case, the weather influences the shoes I'll wear then the whole outfit. I only have one or two pairs of shoes that I use when it's rainy. Sadly these aren't boots. They're just polyester doll shoes and slip on shoes that I noticed to be enough for the rainy days here in Melbourne.
Thanks! Yes, sure the weather is another factor worth considering. 😁 Even when choosing what sneakers to purchase: made out canvas ☀️, nylon ☔️ or vegan leather ❄️.
Boots (or at least lace ups) are an essential item in Melbourne as it’s often rainy and/or cold. I used to only have one pair of ankle boots (and they were casual), but focused on finding some extra pairs over the last few years so I have more variety. I’ve now got two pairs of boots I can wear in a professional environment, and three pairs in a casual environment :)
Actually, my sneakers/shoes have influenced my wardrobe quite a lot! Once, I got a pair of white low tops with big red stars on them and my style completely changed. I started wearing a lot more bright and primary colors, and prints like polka dots or stripes. Another time I got a pair of burgundy Dr Martens, and suddenly my whole wardrobe was burgundy, yellow and filled with earthier tones. I think this is partly because it was easier to match everything to my footwear instead of the other way around, but even more because I was inspired by their color scheme and style. Great video!❤️

Sneakers definitely influence my style. When I wear them I feel more energetic and playful. I really like this creative inspiration of using the colors and patterns from sneakers to create outfits,.... once again, fantastic !!! Would you also consider making a wardrobe based on different coats? There are so many types of coats available that can stand on their own with simple outfits. It would be great to see those combinations. :-)

It's 50/50! My sneakers don't tell me how I have to be dressed but how I'm dressed has to match my sneakers lol...

I really love your capsules. Since this capsule is very sporty, would you be able to show one with white sneakers but a bit more elevated? I bought a a white pair for comfort but my style is more classic and even chic and I don't know how to incorporate them.

I wear different kinds of sneakers, I would say they are my primary shoes and indeed they influence my wardrobe. But I think i do something wrong because not all the sneakers can match for example a more elegant outlook or to be used for a serious business meeting. But I do like them a lot and they are really comfy to walk in.
But your sneakers don't need to go well with every single outfit you have. It's just an impossible goal. You may want to consider a more polished pair of city sneakers for a more formal wear or simply buy different shoes for that kind of outfits.

Also I've a question: How do you keep track of cloths/outfits/your collection? Exists an easy/usable app for that? How do you store to not get repeat items or to find missing gaps? If a wardrobe is not capsule of course! ;)
I just have a really basic pair of Adidas Stan smiths which I bought as they are simple and go with my hardcore norm core style : )

I like the look of Stan Smith’s ...on other people. I have quite narrow ankles/feet, and for some reason Stan Smiths look like clown shoes on me! I think it is because the toe is quite round on that sneaker?

What would the grey, drawstring, type of dress be called please? I really like it. My trainers are the anchor of my outfits they are all i wear. I like expressive elements like winter colour palette, bold large sleeves, designs, earrings. I like the casual grey dress, just not not sure what to type to search for it.
It’s quite a unique design that can’t be described in one word but in essence it’s a straight, high-neck, front chest pockets dress with elastic cord waist. 😊

Did the blue Vega sneakers inspire the colour palette of this wardrobe? I think it’s hard to define a palette first then find items in your defined palette.
In the WoW method a colour palette comes first because it's based on what you already have. This way you can visualise and see better what new colours you could add that would be in harmony with what you have.
