Vietnam's VIP OVERNIGHT BUS Hotel 🇻🇳

  • Vietnam is an amazingly busy and bustling country, and what better way to travel through it than in a VIP Luxury Bus that looks like it’s from the future! We set off on our trip further up north from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Da Lat, up in the mountains in Vietnam. Our hotel for the night wasn’t a regular stationary hotel. Rather, it was a very exciting VIP experience bus ‘pod hotel’. With chargers, lights, a TV screen, and a comfortable place to sleep, what more could you ask for? The journey, however, ended in a bit of a hectic way!

Bia Hơi is all over Hanoi, really easy to find. But in HCM city, Bia hơi is expensive (10 times its price in Hanoi) and only available near the airport (some Hanoian restaurants there has bia hơi for the Hanoian Community there). I lived right there so I knew about it, most locals in HCMC don't know about it.

If you're still in Vietnam book "Phương Trang" buses, they are the biggest bus service in southern Vietnam, so they have their own stations wherever they go, or they have their little rented corners somewhere in major city stations. Their stations are clean and comfortable, so it's better to sit there and waited or get connected to other places. I think Thành Bưởi also has station in Dalat, you can go to their station and wait .

    first of all, nice video.
    1. Good to see that you picked a very good bus. Thanh Buoi is the best brand that transports customer to Da Lat and their service is the best. They also offer a couple room on the bus (so the two of you can lie in one room, not opposite to each other :D )
    2. Haha very interested to know what is in the bags. The first small bus is transit service, by the way, so customers with a lot of bags like you two can enjoy a ride without hassles (imagine carrying those bags on a motorbike if we have no coach!!)
    3. The bus are usually very on time, if not sooner. Therefore, the busiest ones are actually midnight, because travellers would rather be in dalat at 5 a.m. (which I think explains why yours are a bit sparse)
    4. Fun to hear about that `rock sleeping` experience
    5. Tips: everytime you come to a hotel in Vietnam, let them know that it is your wedding anniversary so they have a chance to surprise you
    6. Best dishes in Da lat you might not want to miss: banh mi xiu mai chen (baguette with shumai bowl), banh can (mini pancake), banh uot long ga (steamed rice paper with chicken intestine), banh trang nuong (grilled rice paper), lau ga la e (chicken hot pot with basil leaves), kem bo (avocado ice cream).

I recomend taking the bus during the day. Theres not too much rush in the morning at Saigon. Beautiful scenery on the way. Decent food at the stop and you arrive in Da Lat at a really good time and you can freshen up and have plenty of time for dinner

Nice weather in dalat. Vietnamese girl like going to Dalat because beautiful scene. Could you visit Mũi Né - Phan Thiết, near Đà Lạt. There has sand dunes ( desert ) and you must visit Fish sauce Museum, slide sand, surf wave. Notice , every famous places in vietnam are crowded in April 30 May 1st holiday.

I've taken a "sleeper bus" in Vietnam too. Not nice like that, just some short divides between seats. Still, slept really well. One would think that the bus company would have some connections with hotels at the destination town to make sure there would be some one up at that awe full arrival hour. You -all would do well to ship some of your accumulated stuff back to your home country (-ies).

Bus cannot do that, because people get drop off at so many places..
Not all people on the bus get drop off at hotel, some get drop off at their homes, or near their homes, some at businesses…
When you get on the bus, they will ask for the street or places you want to drop off at…and they will basically drop the passenger who is the closest…so if you want to go to destination A, person behind you B, and front of u destination C…A get off first, then B..
Buses also doesn’t have an exact time that they will arrrive at a specific location…
So, it’s not convenient for them to have conmections with hotel, because they don’t know who want to get drop off where until the passsenger get on the bus.

There are many cafes that open 24/7 in Da Lat. You should've found one and had a hot cup of choccolate until 6 instead of waiting outside :)) Or at least you should've tried dial the hostel number, they might pick up and let you in. Maybe next time when you book any hostels or homestays, you tell them the exact time you arrive. Some hosts are willing to support.
