I’m very curious. 1. Your videos are amazing 2. How do I choose my brand of photography when I’m a beginner because rn I have been experimenting shooting different types of photography and I like the feel and look of them what do I do?
I've been watching your videos for a while and now you mentioned that 60 % of people watching your videos are not subscribed to this channel. Can't believe that you only have 198k! Keep up that good work
Man your videos have been so helpful and motivating. I’ve lived here in Georgia my entire life and always felt like I need to move somewhere more scenic, you’ve given me the inspiration to find the type of shots I want to take here in Atlanta and I appreciate that.
I watched all of your RUclips videos and I have never been this inspired and passionate about photography. It's like you really are my virtual coach haha thank you so much sir Evan! 💯
Been watching you for quite some time now as I started a mobile videography and street photography channel. I find inspiration in your work as I ventured on mine. I admit that I’m one of that 60%. Subscribing now! Let’s go 200k!
I think the consistency of your content is the one thing I struggle with the most. I'm still "starting out" so my photography and videography jobs have been all over the place. Trying to establish what I want my brand to look like. Thanks for the tips!
You're legit my favourite RUclipsr. I never hesitate to click one of your videos. You always offer insightful, informative and eye-opening topics. Once again I am left feeling inspired
Thanks mate. I've been watching your videos for a while now and each and every one is crafted with so much love and care. Never fails to impress me how much you talk about each point, I imagine the script to look a bit like a PhD thesis.
Such a good points. I consider myself as a lifestyle photographer, because I enjoy shooting mostly nature, portraits, sports. Yet it may be confusing to people who follow me to see nature and and the next day portraits. But this is who I am and I dont want to block myself of doing what I love. Im pretty sure that this definately does not like to IG algorithm and so what.
Hey, actually 2 years has changed a lot. As I mentioned 2 years ago that I am kind of "jack of all trades" but I have learned a lot in these 2 years. Specially in recent years I have put my focus more on action and lifestyle photography. Regarding my portfolio I have more thought about what should be on my website. There is only active lifestyle, action and sports content. Not nature shots anymore because it could be confusing for a potential customer. Also I have cut off portraits photos from my portfolio. Because I would like to work with sports brands so for them portraits does not give any value. in short I have niche down a lot and that has helped already a lot to get new clients in sports industry.@@photobizmethod
Really good insight, I grew my instagram shooting skateboarding related photos and videos for years, grew it to a few thousand followers and since I've been trying to rebrand it to my main brand account I've seen my numbers drop because it's not skateboarding related anymore, it's a tricky situation!
I won't use Fiverr since they don't even trust their own creators to design their logo and they devalue a lot of creative work. I've felt way more comfortable really thinking about my brand and then working on designing it myself to be a lot more personal to my message. Other than the Fiverr stuff, this video describes exactly how I've been starting out my brand already so it's great to know I was already on a good path of thought.
Niching down is so difficult when you’re a photographer/videographer that shoots a wide variety of things and has to in order to keep that full time income coming in (at least as a local shooter when you don’t have a huge following on RUclips etc) I find that to be the hardest part
Good stuff bro and I like how you elaborate in trying not to deviate "too much" from your identity. It definitely has me reflecting on what I should keep or move from my website. I really like your videos - keep it up!
but how it comes that you are into streetphotography and become Product shoot requests? I am also in love with streetphotography and storytelling, but also want clients like brands to shoot their products for example
With IGs organic reach now being basically nill its harder if not impossible to grow a new account unless you funnel people in from outside sources IE youtube.
Excited to hear about your new camera setup. Just a recommendation, I can see you're shooting your talking head segment with a wide angle lens, but your lines are not parallel. Your lens is tilted slightly down. It make the room look wonky, especially the gear shelf in the background. Level your horizon out. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
I've always found it difficult to "brand" myself as I do and love so many types of art. I do have a name for my photography brand but I also do sketches and paintings. I could do with a brand for it all? Any tips Evan?
Great video, man! I'd love to hear about some of your experiences and career opportunities in ATL. I have a bunch of friends move down there for the developing film scene. Have you found that it's a city with tons of opportunity?
I really have a problem with this since I love portraits and nature too. I can’t stick to just one type of photography and I don’t know how to balance it out. It’s boring to me to just do one type of photography:( and now I’m also doing product and food photography hahaha you see my prob? :(
What i’m doing is making separate pages for my work (my sports photos have a separate page and my portraits have a separate page), maybe try doing that. It’s hard but that way you can keep creating a variety of content without confusing followers on what path your account is going on
When you mentioned 60% weren´t subscribed I checked and I wasn´t! hahaha I felt as if a teacher caught me cheating on an exam 😂😂 Already subscribed. Won´t happen again, I promise!
Did you put some reverb on your voice, man weirdest sound in my headphones sounded like you were really in my head lol. Cool video man appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and yes totally agree with doing your own things. So many similar accounts especially in the portrait world.. Cheers dude
Like because of the video and then dislike because of fiverr. I admit they have some legitimate people there, but there are so many scams and so low quality content that people create and so dangerous to try it...
I find building a brand about as useful as thinking outside the box. It really is time to drop all these stupid "fool the jerks" business concepts. Most of what is say about creativity if fine but why a brand? Crazy world. Developing a unique style is useful in art but branding is a marketing scheme to get people to buy junk because it has a fancy name on it. Has nothing to do with quality or style and everything to do with marketing techniques
Sage advice. I'm in the middle of rebranding after a two year start. I felt that since my impact was still small a rebrand now would be less painful. Great ideas during the right time in my journey. Thank you. 🥂
And is it worth it? Do you seriously get good money from this or is just likes and subs that just look good and give not enough money? Serious and honest question 🙂
It's really hard. I'm kind of starting something by my own and I've never been doing something harder. Making people actually see your stuff is usually a long process. Especially in a creative business. I hope some of you will make it! If u wanna help me out, my ig is @mateuszrembowicz , thanks!
Always awesome videos Evan 🤙🏻

Weird question...where was that Bay Theater picture taken at around 2:37? It seriously looks so much like how Ashland, WI Bay Theater looks.
Great tips
Thanks for sharing your experience Evan!✌🏼

My man Evan with them facts!
I love the tip about not chasing trends and staying in your lane! Thanks Evan!
Just moved to Atlanta last year, and your stuff popped up. Def subscribed, and it's a pleasure listening to ya!
I hate paying for premium to get rid of comercials only to end up watching multiple comercials

Thank you for this video, I just moved to LA and it’s been tough. I know with these steps I’ll have chance of making it big one day at a time
The background music kinda reminds me of take me to church, nice video man! loved it
Great info but I’m starting to resent Fiverr because of how long their script is.
Love it man!! If you want to link up Im also in Atlanta!
1- consistency
2- define what is your brand
3- utilize social media
4- unique
5- use your own voice
6- stay in your lane
Dude we need to collab! I’m an artist/graphic designer and I would love to design some MERCH for you! Let’s chat :)
Subbed, great videos
collab we deserve
Love your work man!!

IG has gotten BRUTAL
@@AaronMello ever since reels released went for 1-2k likes to 200-500. New followers are a minimum. Big struggle out here
@@robbie154 I'm just plagued with follow/unfollow people... sigh...

If you're still doing this... have you found out who your client is?
I like your sneaker game! What's your grail?
Haha I’ve been out of the game for a while.. I don’t really have a grail but I wish I had the Travis 1’s and cement 4 is my favorite shoe 🙌
@@RanftEvan then you might consider a comeback btw cement 4 is a great shoe!
I read “Evan Ranft lives forever”
So I cant do astrophotography, cars, nature/ landscapes on my instagram?
Great advice Evan!
Do you think photographers/videographers nowadays need a multi-platform presence online?
Nice topic but i miss your POV videos. They are the most interesting one on your Tube.
More like "How to make an other Fiver ad"...
Great video, man! I'd love to hear about some of your experiences and career opportunities in ATL. I have a bunch of friends move down there for the developing film scene. Have you found that it's a city with tons of opportunity?
I was subscribed to your channel ......it's unsubscribed now 🙄, can RUclips do that ...
thanks for the free educating content Evan!!! So valuable for starting creatives!
Always! Information and experiences don’t need to be a secret!
Man, actually I like your previous RUclips header design better.
How to get from 2 followers to 1782?
