The best way to becoming a good photographer, is to constantly be taking pictures. The second main piece of advice, is gear doesn't matter. Don't fall for the marketing hype, and gear reviewers opinions.

Thanks for this inspiring video! New photographer/videographer here. I agree! My favorite thing is that I know that no matter what I learn, there will always be more to learn. AND every time I pick up my camera I learn something new. I'm hooked! I look at the world in a whole new way. Even if I'm not carrying my camera, I'm looking at how the light is playing on the landscape or a flower or blade of grass. The world looks different when you look at it through a photographer's eye. Cheers!

you may be a small channel, but you are powerful. aan excellent lessopn I would only add that each artist must define @success for themselves as it is a nebulus thing success maybe it is the setting of the bar a little higher each time with new challanges, to continuously try new and different approaches, styles, techniques. for once the journey or process becomes routine you've stopped growing. each 'victoey' is a door opening to the next challenge or as you aptly say, the next higher mountain. thank you for sharing as it now feels I'm not alone on the trail, the journey deeper into my art, my inner being of peace. till next time tchau !

When you were talking about "the first mountain" I started thinking that there are other peaks to conquer along the trail. And then you said it as well:)

RUclips recommended me your video on the Lumix S as I was doing some research on the camera. I liked how you explained the pros and cons of the camera. I respect that you also endorse a 250d, when most of the photography influencers are recommending the R series from Canon. I ended up watching this video as I was intrigued. I appreciate and agree the message you are trying to convey. I started my photography journey back in 2011, definitely climbed some mountains, got the opportunity take some really amazing photos of landscapes and people. Somewhere along the journey I got pretty bored and just had no desire lugging my Canon 60D and the 24-105 Lens. It’s been almost 3 years since I hung up the camera. I think it’s time to get back on the climb. Thanks for the encouragement. You got a subscriber in me! Btw, where is this mountain that you climbed?

Another beautiful video Joshua. Wise words indeed.I'm really enjoying your recent philosophical gems. Photography is a bit like life " You can't put an old head on young shoulders. Experience and success is hard earned.

I'm not that sure if it is that important to become a "good" photographer because who will decide if you're good? A jury of other photographers considered to be good by these or those criteria?
Isn't it more important that you accomplish these two goals: enjoy your photography and like your photos yourself?

Hello Joshua. I really like your videos. Very chill :)

Sometimes 80% if the photo. Is cant find out what it is. Is my camera broken or maybe my SD card? I have a Canon 2000D wich is 5 years old. So the SD card. Maybe you had this problem in your time too. Thank you :)

beautiful words about photography but the main question for me, being an amateur photographer about 15 years, after spend lots of money in gear, after have taken thousands of images, the question is: Who are those lots of images for?, why do you take this images?. There are literally millions of marvellous landscape photos available in Internet for everyone, there are lots of amateur and professional photographers there. I feel my photos to be a tiny drop of water into the ocean. I feel I´ve been taken those images for the nothingness of nothing. Sometimes it is hard to find a motivation for this hobbie.
