Fun fact: John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls was Ryan’s mentor & helped write this song. When you listen, you can hear it’s very Goo Goo Dolls-esque.
I thought this was by the GGD
You are right 🤔
That's probably why I just thought... This is actually a pretty nice song. Loved listening to The Goo Goo Dolls when I was younger. Just got this recommendation out of nowhere.
@@adeho789 same 😂
Not complaining
Even more fun of a fact, their tour manager, Chip Douglas, traded a streetwalker 2 packs of cigarettes and a big gulp to play Ashlee's part. She's not even in 90% of the video. It's a just a homeless person wearing a prosthetic nose and wig. Hollywood is magic!
Anyone here in 2024 listening?
Ya. I completely forgot about this song until I saw it on Twitter. I had to listen to it again. Those were great times.
I'm at work right now. 7:52 am, at Lowes. This song was playing. It plays almost daily. I love it. Im 32 and I still love this song.
Usually the best time for great music to come on. The store isn't usually that crowded then and it's the calmness of it all in such a large space with the music playing.
I work at Lowe’s too! And hear this song all the time. I love it
Bro I’m here because of Home Depot
ACE is the place
My work plays this song and I instantly am in high school again lol ❤
Was in college when this type of music was being made. Now I'm pushing 40.

Right there with ya, bud.
Same. This song came on in Walmart the other day. Took me back!

I for sure agree with that
Seriously

Dude yes! Everything these days minus a few exceptions is SHIT and not in a good way
plays every day at my work c:
This was during that weird time during the mid 00s when boyband culture died out and it was more about solo pop rock or alternative rock bands. On one hand, you had artists like Ryan, Jesse McCartney, Avril, Kelly Clarkson but you also had bands like Green Day, System of a Down, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, and Blink-182.
True true TRUE..
Brings back memories of when life was simple and sweet

Yes!! So weird to think this album and American Idiot came out in the same year and like a month apart from each other
Ryan Cabrera does not know that his music helped a lot a teenager from Guatemala through her rough years and at the same time to learn english :) Thank you so much, Ryan
Wasn't it awful once you learned English

This song and Ryan and Ashley's relationship reminds me that love doesn't need to last forever for it to be remembered forever.
Whom is Ashley. I thought he was with Alexis bliss aka Alexa Bliss. I'm oretty sure they just got married
@@robertmoorefield670 this song is like 18 years old. This song was about his relationship at that time almost 2 decades ago. Nothing to do with his Wife now whom he met like 3 years ago or something like that
@@robertmoorefield670 He is with Alexis. He dated Ashlee Simpson years ago back in 2004. They relationship only lasted a year and he called it quits with her during the time she was working on her first record. There's a song called Endless Love she recorded and wrote being about their relationship back when they were together.

The nostalgia I feel when I hear this song is so bad I want to literally cry! Why is that 😩😩😩😩🥹🥹🥺
Same and idk why
I feel bad for younger kids who are growing up in today’s world and didn’t get to experience the simpler times when music like this was around. No zombies glued to phones, no social media at all, no instragram or tiktok narcissists changing peoples behaviors and dumbing everyone down, no constant political warfare, mass shootings weren’t on anyones minds, news was boring, we still went to the movies and when we watched them at home it was an experience to go rent something and not just constantly streaming and never leaving the house.
That comment would be appropriate if it were for a good band or something, not an obscure 2000’s pop ballad that sounds all the other garbage from today
@@mralapenosarespicy ikr lmaoooo, there is good and bad music in every generation, people just remember the good stuff and forget the bad

And don’t forget the new nose! 🥰
Ashlee and Evan come to their wedding ♥️
If there’s a genre of music that I miss more than anything, it’s this right here. So much nostalgia, it hurts.
Yeah, that classic turn-of-the-millenium Pop-Rock sound will never be beat.
I agree 💯💯

It physically hurts me! Times were soo much better then. It’s indescribable

A song that can always bring back so much memories. Only if we can re-live those unforgettable moments, again…❤❤
That's exactly what I say when I hear this song
This song will never go out of style
I’m not sure how I got here, but this video reminded me how good the early 2000’s were. We were the last pure and great generation.

This song is so awesome in so many ways. The background melody is very harmonious. "I won't forget the way you loved me."
This song saved me from negativity. I had traumatic experiences and anxiety throughout my life it’s like I am waiting for my downfall. But Ryan saved me through this song.

This is an all-time song, PERIOD. Across multiple genres. I remember some people from my church thought it was talking about walking with Christ.

This song is about God, 100%. If you listen to all the lyrics it’s clear he isn’t talking about a girl, but MTV doesn’t like songs about God so they threw Ashley in the video

Sick and tired of this world
There's no more air
Trippin' over myself
Goin' nowhere
Waiting
Suffocating
No direction
I took a dive
And on the way down
I saw you
And you saved me
From myself
And I won't forget
The way you loved me
On the way down
I almost fell right through
But I held onto you
I've been wondering why
It's only me?
Have you always been inside
Waiting to breathe?
It's alright
Sunlight
On my face
I wake up and yeah, I'm alive
'Cause on the way down
I saw you
And you saved me
From myself
And I won't forget
The way you loved me
On the way down
I almost fell right through
But I held onto you
I was so afraid
Of going under
But now
The weight of the world
Feels like nothing, no, nothin'
Down, down, down
You're all I wanted
Down, down, down
You're all I needed now
Down, down, down
You're all I wanted
You're all I needed
And I won't forget the way you loved me
All that I wanted
All that I needed now
Oh! On the way down
I saw you
And you saved me
From myself
And I won't forget
The way you loved me
On the way down
I almost fell right through
But I held onto you
Down, down, down
But I held onto you
Down, down, down
But I held onto you
