RIP Adam Schlesinger (who died in 2020 because of COVID-19) who wrote this song and who was the Executive Music Director for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The song "Ping-Pong Girl" on the show was probably inspired by this (or just the total boy band 2000s genre) that he helped come to existence.

Heard this on an insta reel and it unlocked a core memory. I was 13 when I had to evacuate for hurricane Katrina. We were far out in the middle of nowhere trying to get radio signal so we could hear updates on the situation. Listening to this song in 2022 was a spiritual experience for me. I only looked it up because someone posted it on their story and I knew the album cover looked familiar. As soon as I heard the intro it all came back:’) Mid song I literally started crying, as memories from my early childhood started flooding in. I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression disorders my entire life, and because of that, I’ve disassociated for a lot of it.
