The dude was going through a divorce and he just went into the studio and literally SANG his heart out. What came out of his divorce are 12 kickass (tragic) love songs. By the end of the album, Nick wrapped it up with the song "Resolution," you can hear his vocals crying. What's Left of Me album, from the first track to the last track Nick painted this beautiful sad portrait of his sadness, is one of the greatest (tragic) love song album ever produced by human beings. Because it's 2022 and I'm still listening to it. This album just sticks.

But then I started doing some digging based on a conversation brought up on discord, and started looking up and listening to all the songs from Kidz Bop albums I listened to when I was younger but by the original artists. This album saw me through being completely blind-sided by divorce, right when we were having our third child, married a decade. Never thought I'd recover. But this month I celebrate 15 years (and five children) with my husband, the man who lovingly took what was left of me. I think when you’re truly in love and you’ve been together a long time, that even if you get divorced there are many conflicting feelings and there can still be a lot of love that’s still there. I called my ex that I still had a close relationship with and told him this song had me in tears and it reminded me of him. He appreciated that. He sadly died later on last year in December, he was 64. Even though there were times we were frustrated with each other, now I constantly wish I was dead too.

I was 12 back when my parents played this driving to Disney world. Ironic. Made me think they were going through some unspoken marital trouble. My suspicions were right, because when I was 18 they separated, and divorced a year later. I was confused though, because I heard absolutely nothing about their hardship until I was 16. Now I'm 30 and understand the many, many perspectives, and now have my own scars from heartbreak since I started having crushes since age 7.
