I just said goodbye to the person I was in love with for over 3 years and I finally accepted it...2 weeks later I find this song. I'm not even mad or anything. I love the pain it brings back because this song is just amazing and sung by an amazing artist.

To answer your question -- I lost contact with that person for a year back then, reconnected, and ended up falling back in love, dating him on/off for a couple of years and it was the most toxic relationship and he ended up almost leaving me for somebody else. Altogether it took me 10 years to get over him. Now it's 2021 and we're actually very close friends still and even work together. Can be pretty toxic to each other at times but that's only because I finally fell out of love with him and when I did, that's when he had fallen in love with me. But by then it was too late and I didn't want to be with him. This song was definitely helpful to heal some of the pain he had caused through the years which was the original reason I had commented on the post 💙💜

This album, this song, this VIDEO! Director and editor are amazing and resourceful! Such a simple but beautifully shot video with gorgeous shots and views.
He is and has always been a classy guy when it came to their break up. Typical normal guy type annoyances aside inside he is a good, caring, gentle, giving, respectful person. Overall one of the good guys.
All the songs he released in 2006 like "What's Left of Me" and "I Can't Hate You Anymore" prove that he was so head-over-heels in love with Jessica that the break-up REALLY negatively affected him. He'll always love her.
Now that Jessica's book is out, we know that this is untrue. He wrote and recorded these songs before she told him she wanted a divorce. He was also doing another reality show at the time showing him recording his new music but she did not want to be part of it.

I think it took a while for me to listen to it because honestly their break up was absolutely heartbreaking even though I didn't know them when I saw his documentary and those two songs, I just was not ready for them to be over - now I finally realize they were not right for each other and she had to grow up and find her way - they definitely married too soon
