IT *IS* "Z" FOR ZEVON. Dave loved the Man And His Music for 25 years. When Warren received his diagnosis Dave set aside a whole show to Rock'n'Roll One Last Time with the other Friend he called a Musical GENIUS. Then upstairs Warren unstrapped his Signature Grey Fender Guitar, wrapped the shoulder strap around it, laid it in its case....and gave his friend Dave the guitar he'd played the first time he appeared on Dave's show, saying simply, "Take good care of her". Dave said he waited until Warren had left...and "broke down and cried like a baby". Dave was to say years later, when he retired, and was asked what was the hardest thing he'd ever done in his time on the Tonite Show..and both he and Paul said, "Say "goodbye" to Warren Zevon" that night, then announce his passing nearly 3 yrs later. WARREN ZEVON WAS AN AMAZING MUSICIAN.. SONGWRITER AND PERFORMER.
I think the world of you. one of the greats, you are to me, Mr Rock and Roll...Dave has that right! Thanks Warren! and thanks Dave....for such a great tribute...

What a touching moment. Zevon looked like he was about to blush. What a great friendship those two had.
