Zevon Letterman and the on going joke
For quite a few episodes on Late Night Dave had a running joke about the people who would be taking over for Warren and himself and Paul if needed. Then at the end he added one last person to the look-a-like list.
I don't own this I just want to spread the Warren word around the world. "Thanks always" to Dave for being the best friend Warren's music, and his fans ever had!

Many have copied it but no one does it better, especially when you have the best damn vocalist in music. Period. 'Nuff said.
Zevon movie clip

This is a clip of Warren from the movie "South of Heaven, West of Hell" which also starred the strange combination of Dwight Yoakam, Vince Vaughn, Billy Bob Thornton, Bridget Fonda, Peter Fonda and of all people, Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman.) This is the only part he is in and he doesn't say a word. I don't own this I am just trying to share the man with the world.
Zevon on Dream On

This was a great appearance by Warren on the emmy winning show "Dream On." The odd thing is that when we first see Warren he is supposedly at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame dinner, a place that still refuses to give him the kudo's he deserves. I don't own this I just want to spread the Warren word around the world.

Warren on Late Night doing "Searching for a Heart." Beautiful as always. I don't own this I just want to spread the Warren word around the world. "Thanks always" to Dave for being the best friend Warren's music, and his fans ever had!

Here is the first time that Warren did Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner on Late Night. Good stuff as always! I don't own it just want to share it with the world
Zevon on Larry Sanders

Now here is a great clip! Warren was on the very funny Larry Sanders show playing the part he plays the best, himself. And being asked to play the one thing he is most tired of playing... I do not own this, I just want to share Warren with the world.
Zevon w/Dave and the missing strings

How many stringed instruments does it take to play "Desperado's Under the Eave's"? Watch and learn! I do not own this I just want to spread the man's music with the world. Thanks to Dave for being the best friend Warren's music, and his fans ever had.
Zevon on Suddenly Susan

Now THIS is a rarity! Here is Warren from when he appeared with Brooke Shields, Rick Springfield and Kathy Griffith (B List even then) on Brooke's show Suddenly Susan in 1999. Not the whole episode but most of it. Just want to share Warren with the world, I do not own this.
Zevon ~ Mutineer Live on Jon Stewart

This is Warren doing Mutineer live on Jon Stewart from 1995. It is a wonderful performance! Sorry about the messy audio at the beginning; it does clear up though. I do not own this just want to spread the mans music with the world.

This is more Zevon joy! Live on Dave from 11/8, here he is doing LG&M PLUS the song "Trouble" PLUS a short interview. Again, I do not own this but want to share his music with the world.
Zevon Renegade Live

This is a stunning live performance by Warren Zevon of his song "Renegade." It was done in 1993 in Atlanta and features an exquisite violin accompaniment. Probably the only time I have seen this done live and the greatest acoustical performance of this song ever. Sorry for the shaky camera; I think you'll think it is worth it. Zevon + Letterman = Funny

Whenever Warren sat in for Paul you just knew you were in for a great time. Dave and Warren were a great match and we as fans are forever grateful for Dave's unwavering support. I do not own this, just want to spread the man and his music around.
Think about singing this song on national tv today
Warren will always be in our hearts
man warren could rrock the house live aalways had a great band i miss him so much
What song is the bluesy intro from???
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trouble_(Elvis_Presley_song)
@@avrahamben-tzviadv.4638 THANKS! As if I didn't figure that out...
@@keeneyefulI knew that Elvis had recorded that for the 1968 comeback special. What I didn’t know was that he was the original singer of that song and that it was from one of his movies. Learn something new everyday
Brooke Shields is really a lousy comedic actress. That’s obvious here. I really haven’t watched her movies so I don’t know if she can act at all.
I watched this the night it was broadcast. Great memories. I remember they bleeped out the word "shit".
WARREN ZEVON'S SPIRIT!
David Letterman brought the best to the world with Warren Zevon
"Warren, Are You Coming On To Me!?" "What would You Say if I was?",
I was about 13 when this episode aired and it was my introduction to Warren Zevon. I think he later showed up on Dream On also. He must have liked HBO.
Trying to watch a Zevon performance is always torture: "Okay, let's hear it....shit, I couldn't hear his voice 'cause I was singing along. Alright, let's play it again....FUCK, I was singing along that time too....okay, one more time....FUCK, I DID IT AGAIN...."
Love the VCR upload here. You kids don't know how rough we had it.
We lost a true legend way too soon.
@thomasaquinas1...Unless its " genre & waring blender"
Stand aside Paul. Here we have a true piano virtuoso and legendary composer.
The studio version of "French Inhaler" is about 3;45 so Warren could have played it at a normal pace and been under 4;00. But the quick version be played here is classic. Also, that album wasn't Warren's first. He had an album before that released in 1969 that unfortunately went nowhere.
Genius. RIP my favorite rocker.
Thank you so much because the original tracks of anything from back in the day will not be found by a robot correctly which raises the question that I don't have an answer to in my robot certainly won't talk about it are there original lyrics that they made them change too many women with too many pills try to look up the original video tell me where you're at and I think the AI is about to eat us possibly already has like a rabbit inside the snake everyone laughed when I mention that now what do we do like make Bugs Bunny jokes until I'm like dude I don't watch that anymore it's too depression
None like him...one of a kind. God Bless.
Stellar video and audio clarity.
Heroic !!
This man. Beyond beautiful. This is Usa for me.
that sped up French Inhaler is a masterpiece
This definitely deserves much higher resolution.
sound is terrible.
Holy shit what a fucking epic intro
@5:01 "about 18 cents I think"
@1:00 "that guy was in my hotel last night" Zevon says under his breath hahah
THis song kinda encompasses the modern Democratic mind..
Backed by R.E.M. on this album with some excellent Neil Young guitar work on this track
Oof, warren knows those keys like family
1:41 for LG&M.
When a person says that they're evil you should believe them. I love Zevons music, but there was much darkness.
Thank you for putting all these clips out. Still funny and totally great all these years later.
One of my favorite rock songwriters!
I am Sam Guest I was a Renagade in 72 and 73 ! I scored the winning try, against Florida in 73. Mike Mcgwiggin was captain that year! Primo Greppi was an expatriate on that team, Mike Duggan was on that team! My memory has dimmed since then, best time of my life, so far!!!
I member seeing this...I MISS WARREN!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
That's Tony Randall!
He was loved and looked up to by many other song writers ,singers.
Warren was like Dylans funnier hipper little brother who hung around Elvis Costello too much one summer...acceptable new music that road on a newer wave
His best album
I had the honor of meeting Warren back in the 90's after a show in Syracuse with a few dedicated people who braved the cold raw temperatures on a Wednesday night in late winter. Unfortunately, it was a small club tucked away in an industrial park but as he said" Not only have I brought Grand Piano, I brought My Massive Ego!!" The guy never broke out of character but you could tell he appreciated the dozen of people who stuck around to thank him.
WARREN BY GOD ZEVON! NO ONE EVER EQUALLED HIM IN MY EYES. NO ONE EVER *WILL* GOLDEN TROUBADOUR. PIANO FIGHTER PAR EXCELLENCE. I SHALL WORSHIP HIM TIL THE DAY I SEE HIM AGAIN. I, TOO, AM A RENEGADE. BUT NOT IN *HIS* IMAGE. NO ONE *CAN* BE. LIVE FOREVER, WARREN.
We sang this in the barracks and in bars whenever we got the chance. Great memories.
I would have asked for Gorilla You’re a Desperado. REAL deep cut, that.
Boy, do I miss Warren.
I’ll bet I’ve heard this song 500 times in my lifetime and every time it’s like the first.. the eternal..Warren Zevon. Love that man.
And every performance is different. So damn good. Talkin' about the man...
Happy Birthday, Warren!
Werewolves of Lima. Brilliant.
So great.
