@@magmitejadeexo2530 Dawg this movie isn’t realistic it’s based off a real animal but made to swim for idk I guess to increase the time stamp off this trash can of an end to a franchise it’s not a ice raptor
Nowadays I watch these movies already knowing "this is the protagonist, the dinosaur will never be able to catch and kill him", which is a shame, it would be nice if the dinosaurs managed to kill some main character to give an air of tension and make them scariest in the movie.
I mean, yeah? I was going in full on thinking that Ian Malcolm to be killed off, because of the first Novel, but I guess it's because Colin took notes from how Disney literally killed off the original Star Wars trio in each Sequel Film too seriously and didn't have any main characters die in Dominion.
The best part about this whole thing was when she went Nope! That’s exactly how I would feel, I would probably be frozen since I have no cold resistance but other than that same
It's believed that (almost) all dinosaurs can swim, and some species of raptor adapted to swim specifically in water, and pyroraptor may have been part of that group
Most Prehistoric terrestrial creatures gain the ability to swim, some raptor species like these who have developed feathers must’ve been also apart of the group too, idk if blue who is a velociraptor can swim though I’m pretty sure she can’t
@@Frobilen yeah, but in case you're thinking that they can hop in freezing cold waters, I highly doubt they could. Their feathers aren't as waterproof as that of penguins and they don't have nearly as much fat to keep them warm.
Pyroraptor lived during the Late Cretaceous when Europe was merely a cluster of islands. It’s possible that Pyroraptor swam from one island to another when searching for food or territory.
@Frobilen - This is a theory that shouldn't have taken so long😂 I knew Dinosaurs can swim since I was a kid, didn't need science to know that, its literally normal logic as animals can swim. All animals that didn't get on the ark of Noah swam or drownd from the intense force of the great flood.
I really loved the Pyroraptor in this film. *This* is really how the raptor dinosaurs this size (like a Utahraptor) actually looked, with all the feathers….unlike the more reptilian creation in the first film. They were more like carnivorous flightless birds with sharp teeth! I feel like the original reptilian Jurassic Park Velociraptors looked more like a combination of two dinosaurs: the Herrerasaurus with the Utahraptor, given the raptor claws.
It's marine reptile behaviour was cool af to look at but hilariously inaccurate. But super duper cool, even if it would have been even cooler if they designed the ice raptor more like a cormorant
Im so happy they finally made a more realistic raptor. I know there's still a ton of things that are off but this is a big improvement from the velociraptors
Realistically He would have drowned under the ice if the dinosaur didn’t eat him but ok. And even then the dinosaur would have caught him. This movie is a mess.
Seeing my favourite Dromaeosaur ever Pyroraptor in a Jurassic World movie made me so happy when I first saw and I do agree with everyone here it definitely needed more screen time but that didn’t ruin the movie for me. Screw the critics they can kiss my a*** for alll I care. I love this movie but I do have only four complaints about it see critics even the lovers have their problems too that doesn’t mean we hate unlike you critics you just hate what you don’t understand. My four complaints are 1. Pyroraptor didn’t get enough screen time but I’m just glad it got a scene 2. Blue needed to show up more in this movie but Beta was ok and I’m fine with that 3. No Spinosaurus but I ok with that 4. and Finally Kayla Watts because there’s just something so unlikeable about her, I didn’t like when she did that 1:38 to the poor Pyroraptor I mean why did she have the urge to do that? They were perfect fine in that elevator plus the Pyroraptor was only hungry or just defending its territory and the face she makes after tasering it made her even more unlikeable.
Finally, Kayla states that she was not afraid of him at all. Treating him with a taser only confirms that the piroraptor surprised her and terrified her😉. I think there should be more piroraptors. Why did Biosyn create only one pyro when raptors are gregarious?
Penguins have a thick layer of feathers and fat and have flipper like wings for swimming. Pyroraptors, especially this one, do not. No raptor would hop in -40° water.
@@xenomorph-2017 I see you never heard of the kingfisher bird then kingfishers have no layer of fat, and no flippers/feet made for the water, but they are know to dive into ice holes (similar to this one) and swim under the ice for food durning the winter. Because kingfishers weren’t build for freezing waters, some die from diving in, but that doesn’t stop the species from doing this, similar to the pyroraptor
@@day539 ok, nice, counterpoint: 1: Kingfishers and penguins have evolved to swim well because their diet is aquatic and they need to regularly hop into the water. Pyroraptor was most likely a land based predator. It probably didn't evolve for advanced swimming. 2: Pyroraptor lived in what is now France, which was nowhere near cold enough to produce icy winters during that time. If this film had a smidge of realism, the pyroraptor wouldn't even jump in the water at all, it'd just go straight for the humans.
@@day539 The difference is that penguins have a special type of hydrodynamic feathering which is how they actually achieve agility and swim, the flippers are just for propulsion. Kingfishers don't have this so they can't swim with the same agility and efficiency as penguins, and neither does Dominion's pyroraptor.

Man Pyroraptor was an instant favorite for me, it’s a shame this was his only bit. Maybe Dominion would have more time to show off these awesome new dinosaurs if they hadn’t tried to tie a billion storylines into one, or tried to fit in this locust bull crap in the plot when it was clearly not necessary. This movie also struggles from losing all sense of realism, Clair (if that’s how you spell her name lol) is now outrunning raptors on foot, Owen can outrun them using a dirt bike yet reach the speed of a moving plane?? Another example in this scene, home girl over here lifting a dude twice her weight out of the water in that amount of time? The whole Biosyn lab easily fooled by a teenage girl?? They spent so much time and money focusing on crap that only made the movie worse. If they just cut the Biosyn crap and focused more on dinosaurs among us, not a million other things, just that, maybe this movie would have actually been some what successful. Thank you ladies and gentlemen, for attending my rant.

yes, of course, everything in this scene makes so much sense. Wow, smart move raptor, obviously jumping into the water is so much better than running toward your prey that is 4 meters in front of you /s
On thin ice, no dice at running after it's prey, the agility it had on water being the same on land and since humans are slower in water, honestly idk why the ice did not break even more to add tension whilst owen kayla and Pyroraptor were all on land, making them need to traverse sheets of ice and get to the thicker ice at the edges to resume the scene. Unless that would of been impossible to do. Reminder that ice is also meant to be slippery.

0:43 A good example of how weirdly animated some of the stuff in modern CGI is, that dinosaur just zooms around in the water like a speedboat.
Yeah, the plot armour of the main characters in the JW trilogy really annoyed me
I agree giga should have some kills cuz it's so badass but no the movie killed it only after a few minutes of screen time
@@ParkRanger2000 Ian didn’t die in the novel, the second book confirmed he survived….
People say this like the original characters from the old movies were getting killed off.
The best part about this whole thing was when she went Nope! That’s exactly how I would feel, I would probably be frozen since I have no cold resistance but other than that same
I like how no one is mentioning the Pyroraptor is 2x it’s actual size
2x? More like 5x its actual size.
so are the velociraptors
Did not expect that raptor can swin underwater
Still inaccurate
@@Elsmarsh its a film about dinosaurs made with animal dna, cope
@@Elsmarsh Hence why I said “like a Utahraptor”.
This is more similar to a Deinonychus than a pyroraptor.. jurassic park getting dinos wrong smh
The instinct to survive is ignoring the fact of cold and freezing water.
Pyroraptor is one of unique swimmers than the other raptors, and it is one of my favorites.
The fact they sat there after pulling him out knowing that the dinosaurs can swim and pop out of ice is blowing me
The fact that it took this long for Jurassic Park to have a feathered raptor.
Pyroraptor with ice- and water powers? A dinosaur is reaching the avatar state right now
"Ok firry ice chicken we get it." *Zap*
Realistically He would have drowned under the ice if the dinosaur didn’t eat him but ok. And even then the dinosaur would have caught him. This movie is a mess.
There was a hole he easily got out of💀
I agree the film was bad but realistically there would not be an alive dinosaur

Ok buddy....
My four complaints are
1. Pyroraptor didn’t get enough screen time but I’m just glad it got a scene
2. Blue needed to show up more in this movie but Beta was ok and I’m fine with that
3. No Spinosaurus but I ok with that
4. and Finally Kayla Watts because there’s just something so unlikeable about her, I didn’t like when she did that 1:38 to the poor Pyroraptor I mean why did she have the urge to do that? They were perfect fine in that elevator plus the Pyroraptor was only hungry or just defending its territory and the face she makes after tasering it made her even more unlikeable.
Finally, Kayla states that she was not afraid of him at all. Treating him with a taser only confirms that the piroraptor surprised her and terrified her😉.
I think there should be more piroraptors. Why did Biosyn create only one pyro when raptors are gregarious?

I feel like the people who criticize Pyroraptor swimming in this scene forget penguins exist
Penguins have a thick layer of feathers and fat and have flipper like wings for swimming. Pyroraptors, especially this one, do not. No raptor would hop in -40° water.
@@xenomorph-2017
I see you never heard of the kingfisher bird then
kingfishers have no layer of fat, and no flippers/feet made for the water, but they are know to dive into ice holes (similar to this one) and swim under the ice for food durning the winter.
Because kingfishers weren’t build for freezing waters, some die from diving in, but that doesn’t stop the species from doing this, similar to the pyroraptor
@@day539 ok, nice, counterpoint:
1: Kingfishers and penguins have evolved to swim well because their diet is aquatic and they need to regularly hop into the water.

Retconning Maise's origin
Not exploring how the consequences of Dinosaurs living amongst us around the world following the end of Fallen Kingdom
And that companies and governments are recklessly making more animals and expecting to control them only to find out the hard way they can't no matter what
And how Ian Malcolm's warning all came to pass and that the Dominion of man over nature is slowly (but not completely) coming to an end
How the OG characters view and interact with new characters, showing how each experience shape them and how they view the status quo

yes, of course, everything in this scene makes so much sense.
Its clearly faster in water than on land. It makes most sense to ambush its prey
