    Excellent! Thank you. Couple questions - typical difference between white bristles, black bristles, combo? When best to use synthetic vs natural? You used kabuki term interchangeably. What makes it kabuki? What's Stipple brush and stippling (stamping)? Great, informative and helpful video.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  7 лет назад +5

      Such great questions Sara! So most of the times, the bristles are dyed and the color may be irrelevant. Although for the sake of the brushes I featured... Kabuki is a dense does shaped brush with soft bristles. So its soft and will do a great job of blending, but its dense (short and compact bristles) will do a great job of giving good coverage of face products like foundation. Must brands have a Kabuki shaped brush and in my opinion are the best for foundation brushes. When I refer to stippling I do refer to like stamping the product on the face - so not blending in circular motion or moving the brush across the face but more so pressing the brush into the same spot to build coverage and slowly blend.

    Yay! Thank you for doing a brush/cleansing video! 😊 I always used the MAC 190 foundation brush or my fingers to apply my foundation until I tried the ELF blending brush - in love! The foundation has a completely different look. Thank you for the suggestion!
    I love the everyday makeup look you have in this video. What products/colors besides the peach lipgloss are you wearing in this particular video?

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  7 лет назад

      Hey girl! :) The MAC 190 is the original good ole foundation brush. When I started in makeup, that was my favorite foundation brush. So glad you like the Elf too! So on my eyes I only have a little shimmery champagne shade in my inner corner, I just had gotten my lash extensions filled the day before so my lashes look a lot thicker here. For cheeks, the Tarte Blush in Paaarty (i'm obsessed with this color at the moment :) Simple and minimal. :) MY foundation I think was the Milani Conceal and Perfect.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  7 лет назад +1

      Thank you Tami! I personally love to apply cream blushes with a softer natural or kabuki brush vs a synthetic flat brush. You could also use a beauty blender. Anything that will press the product into your skin and pores rather than just letting it sit on top.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  7 лет назад

      Hi Tina, you could! I like You'd want to use a face brush that was on the more dense side, than long fluffy. You need something dense enough to pick up the thick cream and buff it into the skin. So the brushes I mentioned that have shorter, more dense compact bristles are best.

I've seen the solid cleanser and wondered if they worked so I'm really glad you showed that think I'll have to have some lol and that little cleansing mitt thing I've must have been under a rock never saw that before I'll definitely give that a try too. And now for the negative which I HATE DOING .... I have a pet peeve because you feel like you have to explain yourself because of the brushes you use apparently from negative comments that really bothers me that people don't just appreciate what you do and all the tips you give us without nitpicking everything IT DRIVES ME CRAZY and I don't have very far to go to be crazy hahaha anyway thank you so very much for all the info

      Lisa! I love you for this. Thank you so much! Makes me feel very appreciated. I'm so fortunate that i don't get much of that on my channel but occasionally I do feel like people voice their disappointments about the way I filmed or covered a product. Most of the time, its good feedback for me to hear to make my videos better. But other times I think people don't realize that at this point my youtube channel is honestly just my passion project... totally funded by whatever I can sneak by my husband (haha! kidding... i don't sneak anything by him but I'm grateful he lets me invest what I do in products to review here) I just wanted to explain that in this video because I'm just like everyone else... I have to be selective on what I spend on makeup and brushes isn't something I feel I need to, but sometimes I feel expected to. I want to continue to grow here and create videos that everyone wants to see. :)

      Well, I think once a week is good ... but I would be lying if I told you I did it that often. ;) I probably do every few weeks to a month. I don't have issues with breakouts but if I did I would clean more frequently. I also have tons of brushes so I don't use the same brushes every single day, but I would say with daily use 1-2 weeks is good.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  7 лет назад +1

      +Ashley Herron hey girl! You could use the 224 by them or really any medium to large size crease brush - depending on how detailed you are with your contour , I don't do a strong contour and I'll use something soft and bigger (even the real techniques "setting brush" ) but if you like a more defined contour you'll want something smaller and a little stiffer - you could even use the 217 by Mac

      Hi Peggy... my thoughts are I need to try them!! I saw them at Neimans but couldn't bring myself to spend the high price tag on them. I bought a knock off somewhere (maybe amazon..) and was very disappointed.... I need to try the Artis... just want to figure which I want to try .

      I bought a "knock off" Artis at Sally Beauty Supply and I have to say I love it! Haven't used it much because my "go to" foundation is Mary Kay mineral powder (don't sell, just love it) but when I use liquid foundation I prefer that brush to my Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki.
