Hi, I had a look at the progress and rework of your layout up to this date and 'congratulations' ! Nice improvements and indeed this rebuild has become a nice 'realistic' RW. I'm a steam loco man - just a few early Diesels on my 'AnneliesVille RR' (Belgian types - as I am Flemish) but to have a 'Vintage' loco running on the main is a fine addition and fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your 'creativity & enthusiasm' in your nice produced vids. Success & greetings
Marcus wow the HST sound's awesome 👍 and the Lms steam locomotive she's a beautiful good job on the 56 and I'm looking forward to seeing you do the class 60 project. All in all great update kind regards Gary Leicester tmd and station
A great update. That princess is a beautiful model. Looks quite good going around your layout. I’m very fond of the firebox flicker and hopefully they continue to put that feature in future models. The HST sounds great. Really enjoyable. Clint
Hi Marcus thanks for the excellent update! The signals look great with the work you have done on them. Interesting as ever, look forward to the next video! Karl
The signals look great, a superb addition to your layout, loving the new kettle too. The HST sound is very impressive. All the best, take care and thanks for upload.
Nice update Marcus, I agree , the signals have added so much more to the layout. You've done a good job on the detailing/painting on the train tech ones. 🚦
Hi Marcus. Those screaming Valentas sound awesome. Not in my period but they have fond memories. I sort of agree with you on 6201 but one thing always lets steam locos down in OO and in my gauge N, the coal in the tender! Surely at todays prices and with todays technology, coal could look a little less plastic. Like the colour signals. Perhaps a tad expensive though if you compare to other manufacturers. Whole layout is looking really great, and as for enjoying making the videos and sharing, there is nothing better than sharing your thoughts and achievements. Stay safe. Cheers, Bob
Superb video, thank you for the mention, very much enjoyed the update very, very impressed with the work you put into the layout, loved every minute of it...well done 👍❤
Best layout for realism! It's all coming together: signals, gentle curves with banking, good detailing/weathering mix, good gentle driving, loco sounds, etc, etc. Interestingly, the locos which lack sound are none the worse for it, imo. It'll be great to see a fine 60 working hard.
You need to catch that mouse Marcus, but seriously what an excellent layout its dirty & grimy just the real thing not like some I could mention. Well done. Rob
Hi Marcus! The 56 looks great, great to have filled a hole that Hornby missed. I'm looking to re-spray one into the triple grey Transrail livery, thought a triple grey one would be a good start, but the colours are so off it'll need a full respray. The signals really add a lot to the layout as well!
Hi Marcus great to see you have full embraced Steam !!! I have too used Train Tech signals and I really like the ease of set up which suits my lack of skill !! I also have the DCC Concepts ground signals but have not installed them yet. HST looks and sounds great and looking forward to what you have planned next..............Cheers Kev
Nice update . Good job on the 56, that is a nice livery - Hornby are not really interested in varieties of diesel livery I don’t think. And the noise form the HST ! Could listen to that all day !
I see people call you marcus so ima call you that. Marcus i dont dont think thats wind i think it mother nature haveing a fit lol also what era is your layout?
Hi mate great update them signals look great I want them on my layout but I've lost the mojo to the hobby again keep going in doing bits and bat's I've done a new bridge near my TV not done a update yet I've got a steam loco that's the flying scotsman but that's all that 56 looks great and that hst sounds awesome cheers Paul
What philistine left a thumb down? If people are to be allowed onto RUclips without their carer they shouldn't be given access the the computer controls. Some expensive bits of kit you've got there but they do look good. Won't mention the Berko kits for GPS that are only £13 each 😉 All jokes aside, great update mate. Layout is looking as good as always and the new stock all looks very nice. That fire box flicker reminds me of the early Triang offering with the firebox glow and "chuff chuff" sound fitted in the tenders. The technology has clearly improved but the feeling of joy enjoying a new model is timeless.
Love 6201 on your steam railtour. For more accuracy you need to ditch your BG brake coach and put a maroon or blood and custard BSK behind the steam loco. Will look authentic then :)
Great video hsts do sound great brings back memories ofsitting on york platforms as a kid train spotting on holiday...... im the same with my channel I really need feedback from people as to what they like and want to see and advice on trying things differently to improve my skills. Its an important part of our hobby...as for the steam loco. Its your layout your video you do it how u want..im a diesel man too but enjoyed the steam loco ...ive got one too for railtours etc in process of fitting dcc sound to it...keep up the great videos.....love the weathering on the res livery 47. Ive got one I need to do too....
layout is looking dam good mate, very realistic. 56 looks class & yeah the new steam engine looks the part. like yourself I prefer diesel engines but steam engines do give a little something extra.
Excellent update. Loved the Princess and it's convinced me to get one too. I'd had the same thoughts that it's appropriate for modern era running railtours. Are you going to fit sound? Steven
It is a bit hard to tell from the video, but the coal in the tender appears to have a grey look about, if this rue in reality maybe a sprinkling of real coal but do the trick. It is certainly a brilliant steam locomotive, but then again I`m a steam man.[steam mad] Cheers Greg
Ah yes just one thing, with the steamer, it needs a Support Coach. Incase you didnt know, a support coach is a coach that travels around with a steam loco. It has a seating area for the crew of the the tour and various tools for the steam loco in the event of a failure. In this case the steamer had a First Class Maroon Mk1 Brake. I will post a link of a video from 2003 which verifies this ruclips.net/video/m10ahxY138w/видео.html Also, the coach would move around with the loco if it was running on its own light engine. Here is another video I found where the loco on its own with just its support coach ruclips.net/video/cYJAetkpENE/видео.html
Hi loving the progress you’ve made Re: signalling the GPL protecting the points to the headshunt can be a yellow/white version as it will allow you to keep the headshunt open to shunting as required and if you need to set the points to your mainline the signal will be showing a proceed aspect otherwise you can freely shunt into the headshunt.?
One other thing im in same situation with signaling...im unsure what signals to put where...you said u got advice any chance u could tell me what signals would be used where or maybe do a video on it????
Marcus, watch the in cab film of Don Coffey on here as he puts it on for charity and you will learn a bit on signals and lots more from him and Lee Yarker from a drivers view.Ones in 66118 that Lee drove so its one of a Hattons models on a binliner.
I think if you have a look at what you get included which is a fully automated signalling system without the need for any intervention £35 is a good price - we wouldn’t think twice about spending that on a coach or item of rolling stock .
@@GowertonParkway - Ha ha! You might not, but all my locos and wagons are 2nd hand off ebay. I have not even spent £35 on a loco yet! Wagons have to be under a tenner including postage for me to purchase. I just don't have that level of disposable income. Sadly for many like myself this hobby is barely affordable. The way prices keep rising out won't be long before it is a hobby for the rich only, like many hobbies already are.

Perfect timing just got kicked out of bed for farting and it was just in time for the latest update...love me some kettle action
Burglars by any chance?
Lmao
Steamhead101 Nothing like saving them up for when the partner is asleep lol
Very nice looking layout and thanks for the piece on the signalling.

Loving the HST Sounds. lovely update and the wind howling didn't really distract the video, you heard it... but defiantly wasn't a distraction.
love your fencing. "i'm not a wiring enthusiast" you and me both brother! the signals are nice.
Superb video, thank you for the mention, very much enjoyed the update very, very impressed with the work you put into the layout, loved every minute of it...well done 👍❤
Fantastic update.
Signals look great and the hst sounds awsome.
All the best.

The lights, locos and HST sound are all amazing - as is your scenery! Really enjoyed that!
Bloody hell mate, that HST sounds sensational! Reminds me of my days spotting at Grantham on the ECML in the 80’s.
Great video, I particularly like all the signals you've installed, they look very convincing, thanks for sharing.
Excellent, like you said hope it goes smoothly.
An excellent update - lots of great inspiration, particularly the signals. Makes such a difference to the layout. Keep up the good work!
Mike HO Aussie. Great layout with the signals you have Installed. Stay safe in this time, looking forward to the next update in Australia.
Great update - the 56 looks stunning - top job.
Great job on the class 56 and the signaling system!!! Cheers Onno.
You need to catch that mouse Marcus, but seriously what an excellent layout its dirty & grimy just the real thing not like some I could mention. Well done. Rob
Your greenery is about the most convincing I've seen on a model railway!

Love the sound you've fitted into the hst. Great update really like how youve got the layout. Nice review on both sets of signals cheers Andy
Another champion update, layout is looking good with some nice signal additions. Now on to reading your article in Model Rail
Lizzie was a frequent visitor to Newport working the Welsh Marches Express in the 80's. Very interesting..enjoyed it.
Great update mate nice to see the layout coming along

That HST sounds incredible! Top update, maybe a running session soon dude? Two of those sound HSTs belting around would be top notch!

Another great update. Thks for sharing.
love this layout...best on YT...the HST sounds wow...wow wow wow
Very good on the HST and the draw away speed and sound.
great update - cant wait to see more on the layout, Geoff

Andy Laws funny you should say that .... I’ve got a blood and custard BSK in the post that I won on eBay this weekend 😂
Nice update bud 👍 love the class 56

Hi, i have ordered one of these locos, could you please tell me where you purchased the overhead warning flashes from?
Thanks
Really enjoyable. Everything looks and sounds spot on! Regards Stephen.

You can also stop your trains automatically with the sensor signals using ABC braking with a couple of addons from train-tech

A general rule for signalling numbering is odd numbers for up and even numbers for the down line or visa versa!.

Hi, I like the channel, is the choc & cream rake of Mk1's with the restaurant car all Bachmann?
I guess that the black paint at the base of the posts is probably bitumen based to minimise rust damage.
That HST sounds amazing
Hope your well and hope to see some more youtube videos soon 👍

Sound on your steam loco would be lovely.
It looks fab m8.
Those speakers sound great in the HST
really good update thank you,
Excellent video.
Subscrito
Just subscribed! More Steam please!......
nice job with the transrail class 56
Why, with the amount of work, time & effort you've put into it, what a shame.
I’ve sold the house , so all being well and depending on everything going smoothly I should be starting something in my new home.
Nice update!
"£35, represents excellent value for money. You can buy as many as you want"...
I must be in the wrong job then!
That aside, your layout is awesome.
.. And the HST does sound a-mazing!

Some real coal in the Lizzies tender will make an awful difference appearance wise.
Any new videos coming out
Not at the moment . They layout is being broken up I’m afraid .
