Good job mate, best way to use powders is a good base for them to stick to, as you did - yes with handling you'll get dirty finger tips but it's nothing can't be touched up later.
Another way is to use air brushes and paint, but then I find that it never really quite looks the same as there's zero texture with the paint method... Also easy to over do it!

Thank you Mark. It was great therapeutic fun doing these. A lot of it is total and error sometimes.

Nice job Richard. I would say you have captured the look of these wagons very well. Weathering is one of my favourite things to do.- Nicholas.

Hi Richard. Another great how to video. It's made me want to give it a go for the first time..... Just seen the time!!! I don't think the neighbours would be happy with me making noise in the attic at this hour, tomorrows another day, but I will give it ago as you have made it look easy.

Thanks, it really isn’t difficult. You just have to have an eye on what you are doing. It’s very rewarding as well. Just watch the mess from the powder. Use a picture of the internet of the wagons you are weathering of the Internet. Cheers Richard.

@@CHESEABUN Sound good. I will have to get some of that Citadel Typhus Corrosion and Ryza Rust that Richard de le Camp and you talk about, it takes it to another level.

I've looked at a few of the technique videos and weathered my own set of Hornby MSVs as these were the cheapest wagons to experiment on. Basically used your method with a trick from MarklinOfSweden where you get some brown pastels, file them down and get a powder that is ideal for pitted rust. The technique on this video is commendably simple. a lot of other methods need you to put the paint on and then rub it off.

Thank you for the kind comments Alan. It’s just something I experimented with, Worked.so I upload it. Really glad it worked for you.

Great Video , I have stopped trying to clear coat over powders like you said it totally ruins the effect , i just use lacquer first which holds the powder in place as you did .

Thanks David. Yes tried spraying lacquer to finish before and it does ruin the effect with weathering powders.
