    Another tip... When filing in close quarters like this, use a "safe edge" file. These have no cutting teeth on the edges of the file and reduce the tendency of digging into the material next to the cutting area, creating a gouge in the next tooth. It would be very helpful for the sawyer if you finished with a double cut smoothing file or a diamond hone. To remove the burr caused by filing, use a double cut smoothing file held flat to the UNDERSIDE of the tooth and stroke toward the cutting edge of the tooth. This is very effective and will reduce the work for the filer.

    If it is just 1 raker tip I wouldn't worry about it. That's better then removing more metal on the whole saw. Because that shortens the life on the saw and over the years on filing it will match up.

      Agreed, same concept on a mower blade, with proper sharpening it will even out.

    My study has the edge bevel angle at 60deg. I made 60 degree lines on my vice, both ways, both sides. Just look down, line ur file up w a line, sharpen away. Same concept w a chain saw file guide.
