I understand what he is doing totally, excellent video. Me, 30 years sharpening my chainsaws in the field with a roundfile. I have total respect for this skill.

As usual your videos never disappoint me. There are some videos I watch and wished I had fast forwarded through parts. When I'm through with those I wonder why I spent that many minutes of my life with it.
BUT, I rewound this one in several places just to see again what just took place.
Great job, thanks for sharing. Now I might have dig that hand saw outta the back and do some filing. I love seeing tools restored.

This answered so many questions for me, thank you for posting this Todd. I think a tool that can be maintained makes so much more sense than ones that you replace components if not the entire tool if it dulls or wears.

Glad to hear it, Sean! I call those throw-away tools in our consumer driven society.

Crosscut saws were cheap at farm auctions when I was young.. I had a nice one man saw that I stupidly gave my brother, along with a broadax. Probably drank away a long time ago. Great video! Thank you, Todd and Richard

Aw man, not the broad ax! lol. Antique shops around here have them but are mighty proud of them. But then again, you can't find that good metal in saws made today. Thanks, hoss!

I feel sorry for the preppers who doesn't realize the importance of working with trees by hand, or just having and knowing about trees. And the ones who aren't physically prepared.

I'll tell ya, if a person wants to get in functional shape, start chopping wood with hand tools only. Appreciate the thoughts and support, bud!

Check out Jim Thode's channel. He did a comparison of the two. Depends on the diameter your cutting.
