flatirons church has talked right in my face since I moved here 9 yrs ago always ask HOW DO THEY KNOW divorce sucks broken hearts are bigger than what we can hold... the heart was made to pump huge amounts of blood... it was never intended to hold the hurt of loss of love like divorce love you guys
This is a breath of fresh air. I have trawled through lots of bad covers of this song: most incipid tosh, some over the top, a few with bad timing that actually slow down and one atrocious drum cover that was just abominable. Then I came across this - a brilliant cover. Excellent performances by both singers the a quite difficult vocal and well done for going for the whole range. Really enjoyed it.
All these so-called Christians whining about a church playing a song they intentionally picked to tie into their message just because it's 'secular' when 90% of the music they listen to is probably secular as well. What a fucking joke. Anyway this was really good.
if you would do a little research on flatirons community church. you will find that the doctrine is very good. they have many programs. Pastor Jim Bergen and Pastor Tim Nickel are about as good as there is. I'm in Nebraska and our men's group is using some of their work. last January 35 of our group went to one of their services. you have to be early because after 5000 come in the doors closed. someone said that you might need to take earplugs in case the band is too loud. I endured Ozzy I could handle it . best cover band in Colorado.
I have seen a few of these Flatirons music covers now and it leaves me with one question: Why are you singing music not honoring to God? If you want to sing or listen to that music outside of church that that is fine. But inside the church, music should draw us to Christ. If it was not written with Jesus in mind then it doesn't belong in the church.
Most of the music performed does exactly as you describe. Sometimes, there will be one "secular" song (such as this) that is pivotal to the message Pastor Jim or Pastor Scott is trying to convey. It's also a way to attract people to a place where they can "bump into Jesus" without having to attend a highly regimented (aka "stuffy") church. It's a mechanism to get them in the door to discover and learn about Jesus. Then He can take over. Here's the entire message from that day. You'll see the song relates to the message. vimeo.com/67270982 (Bonus: Jenny also sings Revelation Song in this)
AshJesusFollower37 So you’re saying we should live differently and can listen to different music during the week then change into a different person on Sunday when we walk through the doors of church? Hmm. That doesn’t sound like the teaching of the Jesus I serve. Every week, God uses this church, the message and the music to speak to me, comfort me, encourage me, and challenge me to be a better Christian man.
To put Gods message across by hitting home in their own lives, something these people can relate to. many people go here, Christians, non Christians, people that believe nothing at all, just so maybe they can meet God Here. Should judge when you really have no idea what God is doing here, you need to Support Christains

How wonderful to hear good music at a church. This music sounds good - unlike most drum-church music.
