This came together so intuitively and immensely quick… it was clearing the copyright that took all of the time and mental energy. Nick has done a beautifully succinct dream like tapestry together in which the song, according to Bowie, was written in regards to his drug addiction and ongoing battles. X 🙏
The delivery of the voice is masterful and the interpretation is, and could be only you. Achieving that alone, is the true sign of your ultimate artistry. You make everything your own. A rare talent it is that you possess captain. I’ve been known to tell you that numerous times. A very fine video too as it adds the surreal nature of the song narrative In a musical rehabilitation that Bowie would have been enamoured by, I’m sure. 🙏

This knocks the ISS cover of Ground Control into second place and the best cover of Bowie. Your interpretation exposed the true meaning of the song. The need to mask the pain to ensure the money machine / green wheels keep turning. (Well that is me bringing my experience alongside.)

Wow, what an interesting take on a classic. You’ve really centred on the emotion of the lyrics and feeling of the song Shaun. Clearly you identify with it yourself and so you’ve actually ended up making it totally your own and unique. I always appreciate when an artist does this to what is essentially a cover version; to simply recreate the original without thought would be lazy, but this is infused with the Captain’s magic and has therefore taken on a life of its own.
Wonderful interpretation Captain, your voice is the most beautiful instrument and the whole becomes the most magical Ashes to Ashes reverie. Loved the keyboard towards the end, took me back past the 80s and into the 60s... reminded me of a film noir theme, sublime. Another excellent collaboration. Bravo all.
