The Villages Florida, Donuts and Sprinklers

New construction in The Villages incorporates automated irrigation of residential lawns. Lawns are sodded with St Augustine grass which grows out in strands. These strands can obstruct the automatic sprinkler heads as they extend up and down during the watering cycle. To prevent this, some residents install irrigation donuts around the sprinklers. This video shows the benefits of installation and the maintenance of those donuts.
Charlie and Jennifer Pryde have lived in The Villages for one year and in Central Florida for fifteen years. Great info. I sold my home a few years ago and have been in an apartment since the sell. I’ve enjoyed the maintenance free living, but will be ready for another in house in a few years. I think I’ll be hiring out for all yard work. I don’t miss that at all.🤣🤣

I’m assuming those were photos of your own yard. It’s very nice. The three valve box for sprinkler zones looked like three little tin soldiers standing at attention. Good info. Not crazy about that creeping grass.
