I have a little Bridgeport. I love it and hate it . I wish I could’ve been offered the opportunity to do that as the move into the villages would have been much easier . I would have been able to keep my precious 64 & 65 GTOs and 67 Shelby Mustang. I’d have a pool where as I don’t now . It’s really been a disappointment moving here other than the great neighbors . I find it funny retiring where I grew up when so many came from so far . My next door neighbor is from Switzerland. Interesting video
Fantastic Video. Thanks Greg - beautiful home. I watched those lots coming up for sale and wondered. But as our's had just been finished (Chitty Chatty) and also because we weren't able to visit the States last year (Covid/borders) we just watched with admiration. Jerry/Linda - we are finally coming out in September - 3 years since we started our journey to move to The Villages and slightly over 2 years since we closed on our home - Can't wait to see it for the first time and to finally meet you guys.
Jerry when you all spoke about appliances and your guest said that he had to take GE or a credit, I really had to laugh. We have a friend in the furniture business and he also sell appliances. He advised us to buy the cheapest model but to buy a name brand. We bought GE bottom of the line and they are now 15 years old and still going strong. We did replace the washer and dryer last year because the washer was beginning to show signs of possibly breaking down. Others in our development bought much more expensive appliances and they have had lots of problems and many of them have had to replace some of them.
Wow!! What a gorgeous home!! It does give you a better respect for all those builders, electricians and men working with the concrete to take and build something from nothing!! I hope he enjoys many, many years in his new home!!
Greg is living like a king. What a tremendous home! Yes, the villages construction crews know what they’re doing and are super fast! Fantastic seeing all those pics. Jerry and Linda, now I know how you guys spend your evenings-- loading Greg’s pics, preparing for the show. Wonderful show! A+++.
I have built two homes & was along for the ride with my two daughters as they both built homes over the last year or so. It is amazing how much you learn about the building process & what to look for. My eldest daughter just built a gorgeous home in Riverview, FL. Her husband is stationed at McDill with the USAF. They have a view lot in a planned community & it is very similar to Greg’s as far as the view goes. Love seeing a pair of egrets every afternoon. Thanks for sharing, Newcomers. Your home is a favorite among your viewers!
Fantastic video, Jerry. Amazing documentation. Interesting current/past cost comparisons. Yes, it's not unusual to see the quality and reliability of major appliance brands vary over the years. After a little consumer research, I'd most likely end up taking the credit.
I had planned to ff to see the finished home and not watch the build. This was surprisingly interesting so I watched it all. The finished home is beautiful. He has really good taste. Thanks to all of you for this video.
Thank you Mr Jerry and Ms Linda for sharing a wonderful informative video..and Mr Greg for sharing the build of his forever stunning home with a sunset view...it was amazing to see all the different steps done until the finished home is done. Enjoy the forever sunset view home...
Greg did a great job! Love the brown exterior. It will be your family’s “Compound” 😊. I bet Greg worked hard all his life to do this! Real estate is the best investment. Enjoy now 😉
Thank Mr Panjian for sharing the building of his new home. I’ll be honest, I thought the bottom line on this house would have been upwards of $1M so I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you again for a great video.
This was very fascinating! Thanks for sharing, and I would love to see a tour of his finished home… especially that pool area! I’m in my mid-30’s, and I stumbled on your channel right around the time you started making regular videos. Many people would wonder why someone in their 30’s would be interested in this type of content. For me, it has inspired me to be more diligent with my health and long term financial planning. Whether or not I end up in the Villages or not, I appreciate the positive spin you two give on retirement and growing older. Aging doesn’t have to be a negative thing! Keep up the great work.
What an interesting video! A beautiful home…congratulations. Jerry and Linda, I love hearing your clock chimes during the broadcast. It brings back such fond memories. Thank you for all you do. Merry Christmas!
Thanks to all for putting this video together...............especially the new home owner !! I always wondered about the steps in a slab construction and now I feel I have learned something thanks to all your efforts.
Really enjoyed this video. It was informative and educational. Thanks for thinking outside of the box and continuing to post new and interesting content.
Thank you Jerry, Linda and Thank you Greg for sharing the whole process and your beautiful completed home. Such a nice lot on the water. I am fascinated by all the cement pours. I once lived in a high rise in downtown Seattle, right in the heart of the Amazon campus as it was being built. I counted sixty cranes in the area at one time. There was a high rise being built next to ours. They dug down at least seven stories for parking, then did a gigantic pour, the largest in Seattle’s history. All night four trucks lined across one intersection, and four trucks across the perpendicular street. And the trucks kept coming behind them, like synchronized swimming. I watched for hours!
Great video, we just moved into St Catherine and love it here!! Sent video to our best friends who bought a view lot in Hawkins and are having a home built there. Think they will enjoy video!!
I am intending to get an upgrade home in Richmond when they become available, and this video will be really handy. I can see myself doing something nearly identical, with the exception of paint color. A truly amazing home.
Nice overview of the process. The pictures he has will let him know what's behind the walls, under the floors, etc. when something happens or he wants to make modifications over time. We did that on our house and it was so useful over the years to know where things were in the walls. When he moves on and the house sells, the next owner will appreciate the thumb drive of photos too 🙂 Amazing what the Villages can do because of their size. There's a lot of value in having dedicated construction crews. We are working our way through our own new house build in the mountains of NC. We bought the lot in April, took until August to get the design completed, everything spec'ed out and contract signed this month with construction actually starting in Jan. We never would have thought it would take this long. But we're not on a fixed schedule so we're not stressing. Just incredible to see what can be done in a place like the Villages though!
Very interesting video, I really enjoyed seeing the progression of having a home built. We built our home many years ago, that means that we did not hire a builder or designer, we DID the actual work. Now days people say that WE BUILT OUR HOME, for me I find that very misleading. WE HAD A HOME BUILT THAT WE HELPED DESIGN is really what happened.
Thank you to Greg, what a Beautiful Home. With the amount of Homes being built in the Villages the Builders, Trades and Scheduling needs to be world class. New shirt idea: “Spam by the Case” Happy Holidays from 🇨🇦☃️
Thank you very much for this video, Greg has build himself a stunning House. Have to save a bit more money before I could do the same 😁 see you when we get there, Greetings from Switzerland
WOW ! What a great video. I just wish you had kept talking to this man for another hour. He was so interesting. Jerry, you ask great questions too. This man seems so nice that I’ll bet he will let you and Linda do a video tour of his gorgeous home so we can see his finished product. Please tell him that we too like the turtles on the pool steps. 😃
Those crews managing the cement pour are amazing! Remember Jerry the days of renting a mixer, shoveling piles of sand and gravel into the mixer, moving the cement with a wheelbarrow? The Villages crews get it done, do they ever!
Great video this reminds me when our brother designed our parents dream retirement home on the Chesapeake Bay on .8 of an acre water front lot they bought in the late 1980s & the custom builder built in 1992 an incredible home with 10 foot ceilings 2 story foyer first fl9or master bathroom 3 bedrooms and full bathroom upstairs 1/2 bathroom on main floor extra large 2 car garage plus beautiful deck screened in porch full basement plus all ducts and pipes were insulated 2x6 construction hurricane straps 2 zone geothermal heating and cooling HVAC plus every room except the dining room faces the water for just a little over 225k for over 4,000 sq feet of home
Hi Jerry, Linda, Greg and Gizmo wherever he is. I’m in NY. Built in the Poconos Pa. It is fun. Went up every other weekend to check on my weekends off from work so although we saw stages, we were unable to monitor like this. Awesomeness. This video is amazing. If we build, we want to build the pool at the same time as well. One mess. A little too close to the water for me. Definitely have 🐊 phobia. Prefer French doors as well. Everything is just beautiful. Many congrats to Greg. Great video seeing this process. Thanks so much. The only thing I’ll say is Florida used to be a retirement state with affordable and reasonable pricing. Florida is growing and for everyone now. Almost reasonable to way over the top. Thanks and see you next video.
Thank you Cydney. You are right, the price of homes is ridiculous. People are paying it though. The alligators have not been a problem. Of course they can be dangerous, but we haven't seen any of what you would call monsters here since Larry left. By the way, thank you for your kind comments. We have noticed that you are a lovely, positive person.. We appreciate that. 🙂🙂🙂
@@JERRYANDLINDA awwww. Thanks so much for the reply. Life is short and I want to enjoy it positively as both of you do. No time for negativity in my and my husband’s life. Thanks again and look forward to mailbag Monday. 😎
Very informative show Jerry and Linda and nice of Greg sharing his experience of building. My wife and I are building in Cason Hammock and will have our design phase in January and we are also considering a Bridgeport model, so this was very helpful for us. Thanks for all your informative shows.
Great video. Yes those workers are always on the move. Was very interesting watching building process. We live in St Catherine it’s has expandto much since we’re here in only 5 month. Love it here
This video was awesome! Thanks so much to Greg for sharing all the pictures and videos. We live in a block and stucco home in Tampa, so we found it so interesting to see how these houses are constructed! What a gorgeous home, Greg! Your choices of finishes and fixtures are all stunning!
Great show that gives a great sense of what it takes to build these homes. We had ours built here in St Catherine this year as well. We hired Don Wiley to take pictures and video twice a week. Love having the history of our build. I have already looked back to see why there isn't a stud where I figured there would be.
Thank you for showing us this, being in new construction and real estate most of my adult life in the Midwest, seeing how another area builds is super interesting. He did a wonderful job!
Thank you Jerry, Linda, and Greg, for sharing this home building process. It is very interesting to see the project from start to finish. What a beautiful home and the home site placement. If Greg is single now, he might not be for long!!💞
My husband is a concrete Mason. Working 8 sometimes 12 hrs a day. It is hard work and the men try very hard. So thank you appreciating these men.
You guys seem to have such sweet soul's and so social. I want to be just like when I grow up.😊
Beautiful..Tell Greg I'm coming by to see the home and try out his pool...lol
Great show!

I didn’t see this show before, you guys did a great job showing his house being built! 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm in heaven...I could watch houses being built every day of the week! Thank you-

Its interesting that there is no rebar in the flatwork of the slab or driveways. Wondering if this is a Florida thing.

Jim, found the chairs on a local classified site. They are beautiful and a bargain. Pay about 500 for all 4.

Gorgeous home! What a great documentary!!
Fun to see the process. Surprised the Design Center didn't give more guidance on exterior paint selection, yikes
