Some of my fondest memories growing up were flying from SFO>SEA, driving to Bellingham and snowboarding on Mt. Baker. Had no idea it was so rich with metals. Party on 🤘🏼
Ever thought of using iron filings from a brake disk/drum lathe? I'd think that any brake service would give all of that to you that you might want, and you could put in a predetermined amount of iron in your flux and present the maximum surface area for reaction in any given ore that you are smelting.
Thats amazing! I love this video. I've been struggling extracting my gold from the raw rocks I ve got. And its been so difficult for me to do this. I ve got so many rocks with gold , copper, and iron and silver in them pyrite also in some of the rocks. I would love to have a machine to make things easier for me.
When you start to find 6 sided Gold crystals you'll find the source. Usually inbedded in opalised impact flows. Most can't find the source because they just don't know.
hello, thank you for your best video, Is it possible to use an iron stick directly with sulfate-filled ore without treating the ore to perform direct smelting?
I see that you're local!! I watch a lot of your videos. Very good information. I'm new into the refining game. About 6 months in. I have a little trouble with a couple things. Would you entertain some trade work or maybe some equipment for some schooling? Or gold? I'm based out of Tacoma. I'd travel to you. I build pneumatic conveying systems. I would appreciate a chat!
Good for you for not useing mercury.Mercury is so bad here in arizona that all our lakes and fish have mercury and the game and fish have warned all anglers not to eat more than a few ounces of fish
Hi Jason, great video!!! But can you do a video on large smelts of 100 or even 200 grams of encapsulated materials. Thanks again, your videos help us out so much! We are in Mexico and are in need of flux, please recommend to us where to buy.

With cost of mining and transporting ore and with 25 kw of power use concentrating and cost of smelting I wonder what the % per ton of ore is needed for a profit?
How often do you clean out the tailings pond? and would there be some sort of residual minerals gold ect. that have been concentrating/building up?. I have watched many of your videos and maybe i missed out on something containing this subject matter, anyways, You provide a lot of good informative and educational content keep up the good work. From Cali...

what is the price of sand in your area? recently, sand becomes expensive products worldwide, especially those don't contain salts. ie sea sand after wash. and you have tons of it. talk to your local construction builders, they may be interesting to your cache of sand and small and unique size stones. probably make some money to foot the fuel cost too.
@@mbmmllc now all I need is a cone mold and some crusbles Tks for info I’m from Alabama I got couple buckets of black sand that has micro gold in it want to assay it
Love your work Jason. Did you come up with the system to extract the gold from the ore? Or is this basically the process for everyone who recovers gold this way?
Pretty typical general setup but the devil is in the details and Jason's group has demonstrated tremendous ability in metallurgy, machinery, and process settings. Screen sizes, gpm, feeder rate, table tuning are all a project unto themselves even if someone gave you all this equipment. Mistakes lead to the gold going to one of the waste streams or the concentrate being filled with tailings.
Did you try to smelt collected slag second time to see if all the gold was extracted first time clearly? And thanks for cupeling with cement method, for those who dont have access for MgO cupel.
Great videos man very informative and interesting and just awesome to see all the methods you use and ways you experiment it’s awesome you have a hell of sweet job as I’m sure you know!
@KD0CAC Not a magnetic belt, a magnetic feed system. The feed rate is controlled by -magic- magnetics. In this system, it is not necessary to remove magnetics. That is all done on the shaker table. The table separates by density, and gold is 6-8 times heavier than sand, 5-6 times heavier than magnetic sand, 3-5 times heavier than steel. The table washes all the lighter stuff into the #3 and #4 ports, and the heaviest stuff (mostly gold) go in the #1-#2 ports.

Removing as much base metals as possible is always beneficial.
Wet refining it is a must!
More base metals the higher the cost of refining!

Shaker tables are so legit. Expensive but worth every dollar just wish they were cheaper or smaller versions were available lol
RP4 tables are cheaper, but slower and less efficient.
