Just started outsourcing last year and it has freed up SO MUCH TIME. It's allowed me to fully focus on the couples/weddings that were amazing to be a part of, pursue other film gigs outside of weddings, and way more personal time with my wife, to read, to workout, and live life without thinking of the next edit. Such a blessing. Wish I had done it sooner
Such a valuable resource for getting your time back and doing things that truly fulfill you. I will probably pick and choose the weddings I edit but seems like a no brainer for me and my business now to outsource so I can focus on other areas!
So good man! It really was a crazy good edit. I love how their vows extended into the reception. It happened so naturally that I didn't realize it my first viewing. Maybe next year I'll charge enough to outsource some films.
Awesome edit! We've used Uncut Gems for some of our films as well. They're great at making sure each film has incredible character and that's what we love about them!
Uncut Gems? Like the movie? haha. So good dude. I love it. I do have a hard time outsourcing because I tend to be a bit too particular in the direction of how the film should go.
Haha yeah! Thanks so much man. I totally get it, and I’m usually the same way but once you find a team that can emulate your style and lock it down each edit. So worth it!
Epic video i had glassy eyes and i dont even know them!! Thank you for your share and solid advice i have been a wedding photographer for years am now offering video, ill be utilising this editing service this wedding season. It really makes sense for me to out source #genius 😊
I have come to find that I love my films more when they are edited by someone else. That doesn't mean I won't edit any of my own films but I hope to outsource most of highlight editing next year. Definitely will remember Uncut Gems!
I actually relate so much to this! For me, it’s because I become so desensitized from my work that I lose the ability to fully connect and feel what others do when they see it for the first time. So when someone else edits and I watch it, I’m like a first time viewer and can put myself in the couples shoes.
I'm still not sure if I would outsource, just paranoid about consistency. Also some weddings have separate audio, personal readings, ceremony and many assets that makes me wonder if a lot fo correspondence time would be needed to explain what you captured and where the various voice and footage parts are. That said, I'm sure they're professionals and used to various sets of assets to work with. Perhaps we'll give it try when our volume reaches a certain amount.
Totally understand that! It can be tough letting go but Ive been so thankful for some teams to help me out during those months where I just have no motivation or energy left. Everyones process is different and its worth experimenting to see if it could be beneficial or if its best to just keep the editing in house.
Awesome. This felt like a really authentic brand collaboration wrapped in content that also added value. I don't currently need outsourcing, but this will definitely be my first port of call when I do 👍
I went through this period and started editing my footage myself, I still have to make suggestions to other post-production specialists, but I need to step over the line of updating the camera and computer to the latest technology achievements, the main thing is the footage and editing is creativity,Do you do it well
Based on my experience with video editing, if you lack strong filming skills, outsourcing the editing can significantly enhance your video quality. Certainly, if you possess advanced filming skills, it is often more advisable to hire a full-time video editor to achieve superior results.
Hello Serious question: How much did Uncut Gems pay you to make this video? I just got my video back from them and I am beyond dissatisfied with the result. Luckily I used your code for 65% off but still, I am unable to deliver the video to my couple. Does Uncut Gems outsource to other editors overseas?
@@arturojimenezjr6275 Hey there, while Uncut Gems is a sponsor they didn’t influence anything I stated in this video. The video shown was one they edited for me. What I will say about Outsourcing with any company is it takes time to get familiar with their process, for them to get to know you and your style, and ALOT of communication. I’m sorry you had a negative experience, I know a majority of people have had positive experiences and no one’s perfect. Hopefully they can mitigate your concern with the film and get on the right track. I’d reach out to them directly to see if they can help!
one huge problem of wedding films is they are the same . Getting ready , slow mo of the bride touching her dress , the groom endlessly adjusts his tie or bow tie, besties on the bed looking at each other awkwardly, First look in middle of nowhere , dress hanging on a tree ) All this is a direction, common template. There's nothing real about this. And yes, of course, this can be outsourced.
I feel ya there. The wedding day is very formulaic and some wedding films follow the yellow brick road and produce the same old song and dance style films. I think a revolution is coming for wedding films. What they mean, how they should feel, look, the feeling they should impart. All good things.
Right now they are offering 75% off your first edit. Worth it to see what they can do for you and your business. Use code: WAYWARD75 if you decide to give them a shot!
Loved watching the couples reaction to their film. This is why we do what we do. Well done.
You are so right! It was so special getting to see their reaction! I smiled the whole time

@@WaywardNorth amen, I just want my time back. I want outsource the editing process and I just color grade it.
Do they color your films as well and do sound editing/design?
Yes they do.

Thanks so much, Chris! I know collab vids can be hit or miss and my goal is always be fully transparent and give you all my own real world experience!

Will they send the premiere pro file to you if you want to make some of your own changes when they're finished?
Yes they do.
