I always remembered that first reenactment! There's something creepy about it besides the story itself. The setting and that old schoolhouse are foreboding and unsettling.
People, NEVER let your child, or anyone else's child for that matter, give a statement alone to the cops, EVER. They're only intention is to arrest someone for a crime, whether they have the right person or not, and they know how vulnerable children are. It's an easy coercion tactic for them to not bother having to do any real work.
I understand the police wanting to find the killer of the little boy but it's despicable that they tried to railroad a 12-year-old, mentally disabled kid. Every cop involved in that interrogation should've been fired!
Dennis was a cold hearted man. He killed his ex wife in front of his kids and he shot her after lying to his kids saying he was going to take her to the hospital.
29:00 you guys need to see the robert stack version of this case Season 6 episode 11 - its a little bit longer scene. The guy who plays the father, I mean, its powerful. I teared up. This version cuts it out, but the actor did a great job in robert stack's version. I cant imagine being told "we found your child's body"
The Gary Grant Jr case... the mother mentioned he said he had an appointment with someone and he said it was a secret... could it be that this person made plans to meet up with Gary maybe via telephone or via in person and he/she said not to tell anyone? Very sad... 😞 RIP❤️🙏🏽
Those cops are wicked. Why would they railroad a poor child alone? Poor father. In USA, many weirdos running around so please be careful with your children.
@@stalkerstomper3304 he was suicidal and killed his wife for divorcing him because he said he was too old to start over....yet in no time after doing that while on the run he found a new girlfriend and was living with her
Depue leaves the TV with the segment of him still on well after his new wife gets home. He's trying to "distract" her from seeing the TV by having her make sandwiches for him. Why didn't he simply turn the TV off? This isn't rocket science, lol. I'm sure this guy is burning in Hell now for the murder and for all of the pain he's caused his whole family. He was an evil coward.
What year was this originally broadcast? And I love seeing the comments here that think they're the first to see or learn about the connection between this episode and the first scene in the horror movie Jeepers Creepers. :)
the vile bastard could not take rejection.so killed her...best thing he did was kill himself...saved a lot money...more bent cops giving others a bad name...how can the statute of limitations allow crooks and murders get away with the crimes....wonder if someone dresses up at bigfoot and fools everyone...need to stay off the moonshine and whacky baccy...if they existed there would have been more finds of them existing..piles of shit...proof of food eaten and just where are they hiding..in some big cave..or are they just mountain men who dropped out and living in the wild...the broken door could have been a bear...there has to be more evidence of their existence other than in peoples minds...very sad of that young lad going missing..probably kidnapped by some moron and killed.....women are just bloody stupid getting conned by shitheads..what happened to all the stuff he stole..was it written off...
The poor widow lady at the end, gets her heart broken and got robbed at the same time,. And this guy was onto his next mark.,what a Jack ass. He died, from what they didn't say.
I literally jumped out of my chair and cheered when Dennis finally threw that manipulating monster down the stairs! And then when he was finally cornered he went out like a natural born man, three cheers for you dennis depue
The first story tells you just how different our world was when witnessing suspicious behavior in a world WITHOUT cell phones.
The one where they were following the van, anyone notice that's exactly how jeepers creepers started off wow
I instantly thought that! 👌
Yes! it's Bloomington indiana!
Its Wayne county !

'They are' only intention? *Their*
Yes! Big red flag... and I don’t think it was him who committed the crime.
I hate it when they cut corners like this! I can't believe we're supposed to trust these guys with our safety; I wouldn't!
That poor father! He must have felt so helpless being a police officer and not being able to save his son
Belle_Bookworm 25 - but damn you let a 7 year old out on the streets of Jersey with no supervision? Stupid parents
That’s how it was back in those times. I was 7 years old in 1996 and we walked and played by ourselves all the time
@@teelowteelow356 Depends on the area and the family really. I was 9 (born 87) and we didnt.
I love that he was watching unsolved mysteries
It's hard to forget Dennis DePue's creepy mug
Lmaooo he looks like Lurch
Railroading a handicapped kid: nice work, Atlantic City cops!
It makes a fella proud to be a civilian.

I can't believe the people in the first story went back to the school. I would've headed straight for the nearest phone and called the police.
My scary ass would’ve done the same thing
The sandwiches she's making look disgusting...just 1 slice of turkey? No mayo or cheese, lettuce, cucumbers...I'm hungry now😑
Good that's all he deserved...And it's not the real sandwiches, they were just for the show.lol!
There was mayo on it lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Its kinda funny. If you never knew about Unsolved Mysteries, you would wonder why the re-enactments look like they were filmed 25 years ago.
I've always thought that
Wow what type of cops grill a 12 year old kid until 3 a.m
scumbags that's who
"why don't you just shut up and make me some sandwiches"

Sad for the mother who got killed and the children who had to witness their mom being beaten up and then dragged off to what was her death.
Its like the jeepers creepers on the first segment
The 2001's movie jeepers Creepers was based on this story Dennis depue
I never knew that

Dennis said he was too old to start over...but was able to have a live in girlfriend in no time
Wtf does any of this even mean? Mind adding some context???

I said the same damn thing! At the same time if anyone knew who he was, they could've swarmed the house and terrified that poor woman.
hard to miss seeing someone writing on the side of a police car.
Ummm, was the first story actually the beginning of Jeepers Creepers? I wonder if that’s what gave them the inspiration?
I'm not sure, but damn you're fine! Subbed! 🌹😂💯
I wonder how those drug dealer cops did in prison, with the guys they ripped off?Lol!
I literally went to the schoolhouse in the first clip it was creepy

Where is season 2 episode 20 with Robert stack
Dirty cops abusing children by keeping him alone and not allowing a parent with him. How sickening.
