Salvadoran. It was very safe, and If you have not traveled before, what you are saying is for a non travelers. Your itinerary should be setup from start to finish before you book your flight.
I visited El Salvador last year and I’m going back this year. I loved it! The people are awesome
Apparently you only went to downtown In San Salvador but didn't go to other tourist places like Cerro Verde, santa ana and izalco volcano, Suchitoto, Coatepeque Lake, etc.etc,etc.
You missed the point of the video sir rude
Apparently his information is right. At Cerro verde good look on having a Uber coming down. Also service sucks up at the volcano top. You have to pay the driver to kick it with you to come back down. Got the lunch and a mini vacation. The traffic jam to suchitoto from San Salva is crazy. Not now but it was. You can go to Apopan or just go by Ilopango and travel up to suchitoto.
He is showing what San Salvador actually is, a mediocre downtown. Dirty, disorganize, loud, etc. I'm sorry but he isn't missing the point. What's the problem with talking the truth? I'm from El Salvador by the way, so I know the downtown area isn't touristy, and before you say it, one square with 4 facades (in which one hasn't anything do to with San Salvador history) is just a tiny little part of it. The country is freeking expensive, the food and accommodation are to the roof. And "touristy areas" as Cerro Verde, Coatepeque, and so on, are overprice and overrated. You can do more, stay at a better accommodation, eat delicious food and in general have a better experience in Guatemala for half the cost of El Salvador.
@@Marcel.MirandaBut they don’t have Pupusas in Guatemala, but maybe I’m biased because I’m Salvi and proud.
@@Marcel.Miranda For sure you are Guatemalteca, que odian a nuestro pais, por que aunque ustedes tienen un pais mas grande en kilometros pero nuestras calles son mejores y nuestra seguridad es la mejor en Centro America y no digamos nuestras comidas. This guy was lazy did not prepare his trip ahead of time and for sure did not bring enough of money to spend and enjoy a good vacation in good hotel and places to visit.
I just went in November , stayed in San Salvador. Best time of
My life out in the streets at 2am. You sound like your complaining a bit. I have 0 complaints , what city should ppl not stay at? Not one spot in the country is it dangerous. I literally spent 16 days and went to everywhere I could possibly go. THE COUNTRY IS SAFE NOW. All neighborhoods are safe. You literally stayed in one area. Your review was very limited. Also for those who have parents born in El Salvador, just take your birth certificate and you won’t pay the $12 entry fee. There is Uber and there is also a cheaper option Indriver. Please if anyone goes. EXPLORE even if you have to drive 2-3 hours, do it!
Facts
I go to El Salvador every year never had a problem you can go with no worries. @aprilsview2795
@aprilsview2795 I'm from El Salvador but currently reside in the USA. I visit my family every two months, I go out day and night, and I have never encountered any issues. I wouldn't visit my country five years ago when we did not have President Bukele. The crime rate was terribly high. Thanks to him and his administration, I am planning on moving back in the near future. I encourage you to visit us. I'm sure you will enjoy it!
Facts! I took my family to El Salvador in 2023 and we loved it. Now my kids 8 and 5 want to go back! No complains! 😊 we rented a car and drove everywhere at all hours of the night, no need for Uber… El Salvador is not dangerous, it’s the best country in Central America.
Why ain’t you grab your sack and rent a car instead of ubering
El Slavador was beautiful I just got back Monday and I miss it already! Im thinking of moving there.
We went to El Salvador 🇸🇻 after 19 years and to me was excellent vacation, that wasn’t enough so we have to go back second time and thanks God its amazing country. We planning to go for third time bc there is a lot to see and enjoy. God bless our beautiful country,, 🇸🇻🇸🇻. Our thanks to president Bukele to make this possible for our ppl and our selfs as diaspora 🙏
Stop crying bro...
You must be Salvadorean and if so, this video isn’t for you. It’s an informative video for those that have never been to the country and want to know what it’s like, what to do, where to go. Don’t take anything personal and quit crying over anything said here you found offensive.
bro is crying @@mariang9352
He really has some good tips. The hand sanitizer ! That really is a must specially for eating out.
I'll cry if I we're there😅
He is actually right. Uber at the top of a volcano El boqueron was hard to find signal. Even though the antenna is up there. Purta del Diablo was the same. You need to take the bus going back to the city to get signal to get a ride at 8pm. Then waiting in the dark because not all towns have city lights. It's safe. But public transportation is hectic. No visible bus stops. Waiting for the bus in traffic is crazy. The driver tells you to jump in as uts moving because the driver doesn't want to wait in traffic letting traffic pass by him.
One thing you folks listening to this guy whine about no Uber service in an emerging country is think about hopping on LOCAL TRANSPORTATION.
Millions do it, every day. Even US travelers.
He wasn't whining, I heard him say, be careful when you go to certain areas. Some areas don't have Uber service. So make sure you have alternative transportation.
Seriously he is right. El Salvador is living at the top of the volcano or the bottom. To go past a town or city you need to go around a volcano. At the top of these places is hard to find signal. El Salvador does not have bus stops.
My suggestion is talk to the locals they don’t bite , they are very accommodating and friendly
It can't be as bad as getting lost in Hong Kong, where nobody cares to notice you at all and they wave their fingers in your face if you ask whether they will accept your credit card payment.
@@robertparsons313 hahaha the chinese are evil hell no latinos are always very warming ^^ i love being latino
I’m Salvadorean. I think, the tittle is a bit harsh. However, he is not wrong on lot of things he is saying. I don’t think it’s offensive. I think is informative, for those adventurous people that randomly pick a last minute destination.
He liks da old Salbador
Me to im elsalvadorean
A great video for tourists going for a first time to the country.. I'm sadden you didn't visit the beauties the country offered. You stayed in a packed capital. Staying outside of San Salvador would help avoiding the traffic.. If you ever go back, get a local tour guide, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Thanks for the information.
i must emphasize the fact that you gave a limited review on such isolated area, i would however must point the facts that anywhere you go in El Salvador is totally safe, my little country is beautiful all around , anywhere you go you will feel welcomed and totally safe, so take advantage on your next trip to do so.. greeting from fontana california
Also a lot of these dudes know 0 spanish and all they do is go there for gatita. Smh
What is the best Neighbor in San Salvador to stay?
@@BlackGemHipHop did he say he went there for gatita, , in this video you never seen him chasing women, stop being so rude.
It was seven tips to know about. If you have been to ES you will know he is right.
@@Laizquierdamentirosa El Mirador. North East of San Salvador but has views looking down into the capital. The world trade center is in the area as well as the Hilton.
I went to ES in March 2023 and made the mistake of getting in the immigration line first. I was told I needed to pay for the visa and come back, but they were very pleasant, kind to this old man, and nice about it, unlike the workers at LAX.
About safety, we visited my wife's parent's house, where I first landed 50-some years ago, and walked around the neighborhood, where at one time, you risked your possessions and maybe your life unmolested. It was just like it was when I first went there as a young man.
I was aware of the traffic in ES these days but didn't know it was lighter after 7 p.m., which makes sense. Thanks for that!
I found some useful information in this video. Thanks for the info. Thank you. Im heading to El Salvador next week. Im excited
🎉
I always say if I want to have things like home, I do stay at home. I can tell you are a beginner traveler, and I can understand your complaining. I do suggest Monaco, Zurich, or Dubai for your pleasure and demanding culture. El Salvador is not yet ready to welcome royalty like you. Sorry for the inconveniences!
I don’t think he talked to salvis before going there
De acuerdo contigo chaval
lol facts
This is the best comment! I hate ppl that think everywhere should operate like America
We have the dollar like home. The crime came from home. He is just helping others not make the mistakes he made. We learn like that.
I can't wait to go thx for the information Especially on the Visa part
Greetings from Canadá: Thanks for showing our country to the world and l hope you will enjoy staying in my country
Really dude?! Just like NYC, cities are packed with people. Traffic is just a given lol like what did you expect?
I was there in 2019 and it was amazing, i FELT like a black Queen there. And now its way better.❤❤❤
El Salvador need Melanin, We lack that. Guatemala has some in the North, Belize, Honduras.

Wow! you must be a black queen.
Thank you for visiting my home country, nothing compared to how i last remember.
Such a beautiful trip 🩵
Great video . Thanks
This guy sounds like he wants all of the commodities and benefits of living in the US. Next time dude stay in the US. I heard Uber complaining and blah blah, don’t waste your time watching the rest of the video
Where is your sense of aventure ?
Because the country does not have them he is helping others in their adventures. So no one has a bad time. He is warning others. At the top of el boqueron you get no signal. You took a Uber going up. Now how do you go down at 7 pm in the dark not many street lights coming down the mountain. As a guy it was fine add a female. That next light is far for her and she's scared of the dark. It is safe. But criminals keep getting caught. PNC on X will inform you of the latest gang member caught hiding in the mountains.
Thanks 🙏🏽
Thank you!
Great tips. Thank you Sir!
Good info!
Great, great tips.
Great Video 🙂 Your Walk and Talk is very helpful. It is my introduction to El Salvador. A year ago I would never have considered going there, but things have changed. Now it is my Preferred destination. I need to learn more Spanish. I have only a few words and couldn't have a conversation... Sheesh! Mind you, I might know more than I think I do... Anyway, I think a lot of people could use your insights to El Salvador, so keep making these 🙂
Super informative man appreciate this. Heading there in January. I'm staying by La Gran Via. Did you check that spot out?
La Gran Villa is in La Libertad's commercial area. Theres 3 Malls (La Gran Via is one). You are in a very centric spot in ES. You have the San Salvador Volcano on a 20-30 min drive. La Libertad (Surf City area) on a 35-40 min drive.
Perfect for Americanos
I always stay at the Marriott la gran via…😊
@@methatronn which one there's actually a few now
Good information.
what a horribly written title for this video.
I agree
Yes, click bait. But also Informative.
Can t believe this sucka!
How so? He’s telling you how to make the most of your time while there, aka how to not “waste your time”
Its a very positive title. He's teaching people how to be more cognizant of their time and activities in El Salvador so that they won't waste their time. Extremely positive. Don't waste your time.
Ok, you are right about the Visa. That pushed people back if they didn't have it. Uber info is good but they have drivers at the airport that charge by car size. 5 dollars to the San Salvador. Rent a car if you have a license. Traffic is the same as in any city. Don't expect for traffick to open up for you like in the city. You can go from downtown to the sea in 45 minutes. El Salvador is surrounded by volcanos like Hawaii the beaches are not as beautiful as Hawaii but they are second best.
Am glad about couple comments they made me save my words
L O L I will think of you , my New Yorker friend . …..Be Bless brotha ….
I am from there the food is so good
El Salvador was beautiful when I went in December.
Thanks
What first time I’ve heard a RUclipsr hating on El Salvador.
Maybe watch the video before leaving a comment
Hahaha
I love El Salvador. I've been there 3 years in a row and will be going this year again. 🎉
You don't sound like a seasoned traveler. It's evident that the nation is a developing country, grappling with the aftermath of 50 years of conflict, crime, gang activity, and political corruption. However, in my humble opinion, there are signs that the country is making strides in the right direction. Seasoned travelers would likely anticipate the challenges inherent in visiting an emerging nation. Your review is misguided to say the least. I just visited in December and I must say that I was so impressed with all the improvements. The country is the safest in Latin America, clean streets, even though there's much to be done, the natural landscapes take the cake. Anyone visiting, please just don't stay in the capital city, please visit the beaches which are world class, the volcanoes, some of which are active, the camping sites, the lakes, the rivers, El Tazumal, La Puerta Del Diablo, La Joya de Ceren, also known as "The Pompeii of America", It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage in 1993, and so much more to do in El Salvador. I wish I had more time to do more sight seeing, but I had to get back to work.
I was just there last mo th for 2 weeks. Best time of my life. Its funny watching this video because i see the same people working in the video when i was there
Is there atm at the airport?
Well maybe not the best experience but definitely if you plan to visit El Salvador try to find a local person I bet will be easy to move around the country and remember El Salvador is still in process so probably you went to places under construction but can be amazing if you go to the right places, honestly I think was really good advices for people who is traveling for 1st time.
You gotta know where to shop like the locals, the places that you mentioned, San Benito, Santa Elena, la escalón, are the fancy places so is gonna cost you.
Thank you so much for the video! ❤
this was not cynical, it was helpful actually
Sittihg here debating about going to Salvador next week to see Miss Universe 2023 it is in San Salvador
Do you purchase the tourist card when you actually arrive in El Salvador?
🔥 appreciate your channel bro! Inspired me to make the decision to move to DR and start my own RUclips channel 🙏
Im not even going to waste my time watching this video especially with the ridiculous title. My country is a beautiful country and President Bukele has done an incredible job on cleaning up the streets from all the crime and violence. Next time do a proper research before stepping into a foreign country without learning about it and the culture.
I'm going in March ❤
Do your home work well and Try to watch RUclips videos from the latest travelers. The more you watch the better the experience.
Tip, remember to eat the pupusas with the cole slaw on top and then you pour the salsa last.
I Wish you the best trip !
What cities did you go to? How is El Tunco? How many days did you stay in San Salvador?
I appreciate the video. I'm sick of every review of every country just talking about how awesome everything is so they get more clicks
I’m looking for El Salvador becoming one of the top destinations in the Western hemisphere within 3-4 years. The President & his leaders are working hard to develop and implement a solid economic recovery plan now that their government has defeated the gangs, and the majority of the crime. They’re focusing on improving infrastructure, opening up job opportunities for their citizens FIRST, building industry and concentrating on tourism. Maybe not in that order, but I see El Salvador transforming over the next 3-4 years. They will be successful because the MAJORITY OF THEIR CITIZENS ARE WORKING TOGETHER to make their country great. My husband and I will be planning a trip there next year and I am Looking forward to seeing how the Salvadorians are building back better after being under the control of gangs, corrupt leaders, etc. Many blessings to you all!! 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️🇺🇸
Are there still plumbing issues there? I went there on mission trips and you could not flush TP down the toilets.
You don't have to, and is not an issue, is common sense. Even in the States, the city have to deal with the TP residues and other materials and chemicals.
What is hanitizer? 15 min mark
Man smh el salvador is my country it’s beautiful. Make sure you research before you go to someone’s else country…
That is why he made the video
@@danielmelgar8918the issue people have is the clickbait title of the video, the video itself is not a problem.
Going for my third time I love it so much ❤❤ keep an opened mind as well not everything is like your country or like the US. Every country is different .
Always arrive on a Monday morning in a week without national holidays. Everything will be open for problem solving.
Thanks for keeping it real. This video helped me a lot.
hell yeah babezstarz
Moving here...had a ball with my MAYAN COUSINS....
The things you explained are definitely huge time savers. Appreciate you man! Would you recommend doing a car rental?
exactly this type of Video I was looking for as a first time traveler to Salvador . Than you bro
my favorite about 1st world people abroad is that they are motivated almost entirely by basically half price food. like bro there is a golden coral in columbus ohio, just stay there.
I am an American white male. I have been to so many latina countries and El Salvador by far was the safest. Not only that, the people were very kind.
The experience you had would probably been different if you would have met the right people to show you around.
If you go back, try staying in a different section. I am sure you would see it different.😊
Imagine this guy actually being in the villages 😂 he would wont survive in the jungles 😂 i love ELSALVADOR been there and back since a kid ❤❤
Thanks for the tips ! Great information
He goes to a third world country expecting it to look like a first world country.
Que rrricoooo todo bello el Salvador ❤❤❤
Imagine people actually been there so you don’t have to explain what they can do at the airport because their parents do follow your parents when you’re at the airport
If things were expensive for you can you imagine it for us locals?
They are UBER every where. You winy so much and thinking you are not been out from USA before. If you going to tourist any another place even in USA ,YOU NEED TO HAVE MONEY AND EXPECTATIONS ARE WONDERS.
🤦🏻♀️ You do realize that you can travel at a budget too. This is where all these informative videos come handy.
@@mariapineda3483y’all watch the wrong 😑 videos obviously American is currently more dangerous than El Salvador
Thank you for this! So much helpful info for those of us whom are planners :)
Idk man. I never saw anybody shooting up on Heroin in public in El salvador like how I see in downtown Los angeles
Research, have a plan before going. Watch Salvadorean youtubers that show you the beauties, and how to get to them. Once you know what you want to see, choose hotels. Some hotels include buffet style meals included with your stay. Some uber drivers can get hired for the day for a flat fee. Options are there.
Good video from your perspective, and it’s a good video with good tips, but I’m Salvi, and the only thing I don’t agree with is when you said that it’s a “new” tourist country. It’s not lol The last times I was in El Salvador was in 2000 and 2001, and there were plenty of tourists back then as well.
I visited, fell in love and moved here! Escaped Canada. This is a great country with wonderful people, stunning landscapes and it's the safest place in the Americas. Don't believe the hype. This country is one to watch. On the upswing because of Bukele and bitcoin.
So I didn't learn anything watching this but pack wet wipes for my hands...
Seems like you went to a country with zero idea about it. Sounds like a you problem, not an El Salvador one.
Go to Philly or NYC if El Salvador is so bad
Otra ves quiere disfrutar lleve dinero hermano yo cuando voy disfruto y rento carro
This is the most accurate video about Salvadorian lifestyle. This is how we leave. We have nice beaches or other places but the country it self looks like this
Nicaragua looks to be nicer not to mention less extensive
Anything that is exported is expensive! Everything that is from El Salvador will be cheaper.
New York have way more cops 👮♀️ than that country my bro , in fact that country is one of the safest places right now to visit,,
Next time ( hope you visit again) make sure to bring you own stadidistics of crime around the world and a good dictionary to find the definition for the word Safe and crime .
There’s really nothing to do down there unless you have family living there. Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama is where it’s at 🎉

Not what the typical Passport BROTHER wants...but most civilized people will enjoy!
El Salvador is beautiful don’t listen to this guy. I love love love El Salvador. If you are not open for different cultures and not that American lifestyle then you shouldn’t go. El Salvador is beautiful I recommend it.
