    Tim, you've now experienced our highveld rugby and when you get down to Durban, you may feel that you're now in another country. And when you eventually get down to Capetown, you will likely feel that you're now on another continent! Our country has so much varience!
    Franco (sous) Mostert has been my favourite bok player for a number of years now. He is not an obvious stand out in play but, for me, he is constantly working and supporting hard in the mix and is the engine of the pack in rucks, mauls and lineout suppprt. He never tires.

    Hahaha Tim Kwa Zulu Natal! Its a play with words, its just a synonym. Yes, Zulu does also mean heaven & "Kwa" can be substituted for "at" in IsiZulu but not in this instance. Kwa Zulu in this case it simply means the kingdom as you rightfully said not all of KZN is our kingdom us as in the Zulu speaking people. The correct way so say "In Heaven" would be "Ezulwini". So there some Zulu lessons never thought I'd say that on this channel.

    • @auggoggel
      @auggoggel 11 дней назад +3

      Can "Kwa" just be "place" as well? (Place of the Zulu people?) , and "Natal" of course associated with "Christmas" or "Birth". I had it from school information years ago that sailors landing at what is now Durban harbour did so on 25 December, hence named it "Natal". Stand to be seriously corrected by those who research harder ....😊

    Thanks Tim.
    As always entertaining and good to see so many players from loosing teams in the team of the week.
    Pity you did not see the France v Argentina game, as the newbie French has fired some warning to the rest of the world. Apart from their front five demolishing the Argies, their scrumhalf, centres, wings and fullback was excellent.
    I do not think the Argentinians played as well as they could, but then your opposition has a big say in how you perform as well.
    Can you please give some shout out to Frans Malherbe for keeping the scrum up and the strength that took. Everytime Porter tried to pull down the scrum, Frans put in some extra effort to keep it up and then Porter bored in under him. We really need a scrum ref, as what Porter is doing is dangerous, as careers can be ended if scrums collapse with all the weight and power going through it.
    Enjoy the sub-tropics of South Africa and the vibe of Durban.

    The best performance by a lock this weekend was Scott Barrett who was captaining for the first time and was involved in both attack as a carrier and a link, and was terrific in defence. PSDT and Doris were both immense, as was Kolisi. Baptiste Serin was brilliant v Arg and should be in the France squad. Agree that D-Mac was very good at 10. George Martin is a solid lump and impacts the game, but he has no attacking side to him.

    • @PhillipDawson10
      @PhillipDawson10 10 дней назад

      If Porter gets penalised this Saturday for pulling the scrum down, do not complain. He got away with it last week.
      The only reason he got forward movement was that he was pulling Frans Malherbe towards him or down, then when Frans was trying to get his side back up, so not to collapse, Porter bored in under him.
      Some call it technique, but in the true sense of scrumming that is illegal. The real hero is Frans Malherbe. Just thjink all that strength it takes to get the scrum up again, after your opponent pulls you down or towards you to over extend you.
      On that basis alone, Frans should get a mention, as he stopped a lot of scrums from collapsing.

    Great team, great video blah blah blah. Now mentioning Freddie Steward and how he was England's best player only a couple of years ago, and then thinking of Jordie Barrett, who has now made the inside centre position his own for NZ. Could Freddie Steward play 12 for England? I know he isn't as gifted with play making as Jordie, but he is a big boy, thoughts? I know you've previously mentioned Tommy Freeman could be an option at 12 and he now has some experience at 13, but could Freddie work his way back into the team, even on the bench with some additional versatility?

    I will put George Martin into any lineup. A song of ice and fire is one of the great literary masterpieces of our time. What he did with Season 8 was absolutely atrocious, but I'll forgive him.
    Also, he is looking great for his age! And I didn't know he played rugby!

      p.s. don't blame poor GRRM for season 8, he still hasn't even written that book yet😂

      @@EggchasersRugby 😁 love your coverage so far mate, I hope you've had potjiekos?
      Also, since you are in Zululand!! The locals there have a rather potent beer that they brew themselves. Started out with the Zulu and Xhosa, I believe, and it just spread to the other tribes. The first sip might be the most horrible thing you ever taste, but after a while it is like mother's milk.
      Glad to see you're still loving it here, I wish you could see Cape Town and go along the wine route too.

    Like living in a washing machine, yeah that feels accurate. Arrive lit at the stadium, get even more lit for the 4-5 hours till the rugby starts, get blasted after the match win or lose

    The sun goes down very quickly here. Noticed that when I was in Paris. Took a photo of the sunset, and half an hour later the sun was still going down. You need to have your torch ready in 10 minutes if you are in the bush in South Africa

    I've always felt Ben Spencer was so hard done by throughout his career. couldn't believe he was behind Care for the last 6 Nations, and shocked when Harry Randle played ahead of him against Japan. I'm in a state of anticipation when he finally gets onto the pitch and.... it's like he was completely bewildered by everything that was going on. He played like I would against the Allblacks. We can't risk that for the next game.

    My Man, lol, I have been following you since World Cup. Yes, we have chicken for salads, try Crocodile next, delicious, or Ostrich if chicken sounds mild. We do things in big Portions in South Africa, where most Sons have two Father Days and in your head, your 2nd Father shouts, "EAT YOUR FOOD"!

    After the game on Saturday at Loftus, I watched the replay because I missed some things, watching live and I noticed Andrew Porter was at it again with his dodgy scrum tatics, you should have a look at it. Agree with Pieter Steph, Jessie Kriel and Kolbe, but yeh Boks definitely a bit rusty! Kings Park is a great stadium, you'll enjoy it, KZN is much more laid back lol

    Sup. Great channel, players that lose a match don't want M.O.M because it feels empty in defeat... Sort of like no sportsperson wants to play for the 3rd match playoff at a major tournament.
    Go Stormers/Bokke 💯

    Lol “it’s like Wakanda”, 😂😂😂 love your show Tim, Manie to start this weekend. If they want to play the same game plan with Grant or Kobus at 9. Faf and pollard to finish the game. Kwagga off the bench and Roos to start.

    Bomb squad came on first scrum Ireland get a penalty. Then with tired defence Ireland score 4 tries (two disallowed) bomb squad got a very lucky scrum on Irelands 5m because of a massive mistake. It’s very hard to say the bomb squad added much to SA Result…
    Casey was better than Mitchell just but that was Mitchell’s best game . Agree man of the match should be man of the match…good job…
