    I have trekked to brahmatal and kedarkanth this year. You are recommending people to trek in the month of january and February despite of the fact that the trails will be completely missing due to heavy snowfall. I have been constantly contacting people in brahmatal from the last few years and the locals never gave any favourable response for the trek due to heavy snow almost 7-8 feets. And snow storms mostly in kedarkantha. So most of the
    time it will be difficult to complete the trek in january and February!

    You missed two important reasons.
    1. During December, there will be loose snow where every steps goes knee deep inside snow dusts that makes walking almost impossible compared to hardened snows like rock of February where you can walk much easily (even it's much slippery) with crampons.
    2. Days are much bigger during February compared to December when sun sets much earlier, which practically reduces the trekking time by 1 to 2 hours.

    Neha ma"am December treks are a bit difficult because the starting two to three snowfalls, the snow is hard, and it takes a lot of time to melt. And december is the coldest month of the year, so the snow takes time to melt. And the falls in jan and feb the snow is soft and it melts early as well as in these two months there is a bit of rise in the temperature due to which the snow melts fast. Because of melting of snow the trails can be slippery.Thats why Jan and feb months are better months to trek rather than dec. The temperature also warms up in Jan and Feb. Thanks. Much regards. Shimla Uttarkashi border..

      True, but all high altitudes (above 14K ft) remain under subzero at night for 365days, hence frozen water, irrespective of seasons.

    hi india hikes iam looking for my 1 st winter trek with you in near future suggest me any one of the best trek in means of snow , nature views of snow capped mountains iam in a dylamma in choosinge between Dayara bugyal , brahmathal and finally kedarkantha ( suggest me i have a good fitness level and a trekker often treks around south india )

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  13 дней назад

      Hi, All the three treks you have mentioned are best in their own ways. But since this will be your first winter trek, we would suggest you to start with Dayara Bugyal. This trek is a favourite among our beginner and seasoned trekkers alike at Indiahikes. This trek is superbly rewarding at any time of the year.
      In winter, people trek to Dayara Bugyal to experience snow. The landscape again changes colour when draped in the white snow. Soft, powdery snowflakes loosely hang from pine trees offering a tinge of Christmas-y feel. Perfect for snowball fights and an experience of snowfall if you’re lucky.

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  4 года назад +1

      Waterproofing is mandatory on a winter or monsoon trek Abrar. It is important to keep your extremities (feet and hands) warm and dry. Waterproof shoes will reduce how wet and cold your feet get. In many cases, it will help you stay dry for most part of your trek.

      In another video of yours about Kedarkantha, your host Swathi said that Kedarkantha is inaccessible during the month of February due to peak winter.

      @@vaibhav1220 Hi Vaibhav, that's true for most trekkers. But at Indiahikes, we have a very qualified technical team that cuts through the snow even in peak winter. So if you're trekking with an expert team, it's possible to make it accessible.

    we are going on a trek on 4th of January ,among brahmtal and kedarkantha trek which will be less crowded?
    overall ,on which trek we will get a better experience??

      I did the Kedarkantha last year on the same date 4 Jan.. I started getting headache after seeing snow throughout the trek. I just wanted snowfall to stop !!😂😂 I did the summit but unfortunately weather was a little foggy that day in the morning. It's indeed a wonderland ❤️❤️❤️
      As far as crowd is concerned, it's getting crowded year after year. Brahmatal would be less crowded as compared to Kedarkantha for sure. But just do it.. you are gonna love it.

      Go to Kedarkantha for its thrilling summit climb.
      Go to Brahmatal for its winter elements of frozen lakes and mountain views you get from the second trek day itself.

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  4 года назад

      There is too much snow in Himachal Nivedita. The high snow makes it practically impossible to trek. You can do weekend treks like Triund, Prashar Lake. You can do it on your own using our documentation. Here is a list: indiahikes.com/five-weekend-treks-himachal/

    Why no treks in Himachal .?

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  2 года назад

      Hi Kamaljit, treks in Himachal become inaccessible during winter because of harsh weather conditions. The temperature drops to sub zero and chances of snowfall are high. However, we have listed some of the best winter treks. You can go through them here - indiahikes.com/best-winter-treks-december-january-february

    Posting demotivating videos as well as sending emails on such so called ‘important information’, why are you running trekking in month of December?

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  4 года назад +3

      Well, no need to be demotivated. December treks aren't bad of course. If you're looking to trek in winter, December is great too. But comparatively Jan and Feb are better, in terms of the crowd and snow. We shared pure stats that we have found and not any guesstimates. So we expect trekkers to take it in the spirit of information. If you're signed up for December, don't worry about it. We hope you've chosen a slightly non crowded trek!
