  • The Lexus RZ450e is the company's all-new electric SUV, and it has a significant drawback: its range is shorter than a celebrity marriage-about two-thirds the range of the Tesla Model Y. However, the RZ450e still has a lot to offer, so is it still worth considering?
In this video, we take the RZ450e for a spin to see how it performs and whether its limited range is a deal-breaker. I'll also discuss the pros and cons of the RZ450e, and help you decide if it's the right electric SUV for you.
We'll look at the RZ450e's specs, range and charging, performance, interior and technology, pricing, and most importantly, driving impressions.
Whether you're a serious electric SUV shopper or you're just curious about the latest and greatest in the EV world, be sure to check out my video review of the Lexus RZ450e. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent review! Recently discovering your channel and must say that you are fast becoming one of my favorite reviewers. I am impressed that you are able to impart relevant real-world type information for perspective buyers rather than trying to confuse folks with so-called knowledge that is mostly irrelevant in this space, already saturated with all kinds of personal perspectives on what one should do with their money. Great job!

Thanks. I’m pretty good at the whole driving thing and articulating how a vehicle responds to a human, but don’t ask me about features or quirks!

I have read so many comments by Toyota/Lexus that they would never make an all electric car, so what happened? They take their top of the line luxury car and make it all electric with a range of only a couple of hundred miles! I thought for sure as I kept reading this I would see it was a hybrid, but no.

Should have been a hybrid 😊

It's really quiet, even for an EV. Unfortunate that the range is so limited

I have this car and the video is “spot on”. As for the range, the temperature is very mild right now as it is spring time and I am driving without climate control on and getting slightly over the advertised 196 miles of range. With that said, it is NOT a good long trip car as you would be stopping too much. For the first 3 years of ownership this is not a worry as the Lexus Reserve program allows you to park your car at home and use one of their new cars for free (up to 30 days in three years). I drive my car all over town and charge it maybe once a week at home on a level 2 charger, so it is PERFECT for me. If you will be using this around town, have a level 2 charger at home and hopefully a gas/hybrid backup to use after the three years runs out, you will be rewarded with an awesome driving experience. It is quick, luxurious, comfortable, safe, quiet, smooth and loaded with fun tech. If Toyota comes out with solid state batteries in 2 or 3 years as they say, it will be a “game changer”.

Great choice of vehicle if you are smart in valuating what works for you. I love it!

Tbh they all kinda suck, but as a city EV, this worked alright for me. The world is not ready and my last EV road trip I did was a disaster. Happy to see Lexus (and Toyota) playing the long game with hybrids and PHEVs.

unbelievable lag behind the competition. Toyota will hardly survive..

EVs are less than 6% of the US market and Toyota/Lexus is the biggest (and richest), car company in the world so perhaps a bit more real facts here as to exactly "Toyota will hardly survive.." means, would be appreciate.
